Magical Cat
Chapter 68 Missing Mom
Melina frowned.
"Li En, I admit you are special, but I hope you will continue to train step by step according to the notes. That is the most suitable way for magical beasts to train that we have summarized over the years."
Li En nodded, neither denying nor denying it.
He had already memorized all the contents of the notes, so he naturally understood their significance.
However, he was exceptionally gifted and had a mission to complete.
"Right now, I just want to cast spells over a wider area. Let's talk about that after I've achieved that." Li En didn't elaborate further, only stating his goal.
"Isn't this big enough?" Melina said, pointing to the crammed-in basement.
Although the vines are gradually disappearing, a considerable amount still remains.
"This is far from my limit, and what I need to do is break through that limit," Li En said earnestly.
Melina was taken aback and asked, "You already know about the limits of magical circuits?"
Li En nodded: "That old man, Brian, taught me some things."
Melina's eye twitched. Magical beasts don't need to learn this knowledge at all; it's all natural instinct because they are born with a strong affinity for the elements.
Magicians must study various theories so that they can successfully cast spells after mastering the knowledge and honing their magical and mental abilities.
Generally speaking, magicians are actually imitating the behaviors of various animals in nature that are capable of performing magic.
However, humans possess greater wisdom and understanding, and through their efforts, they have reached a higher level.
"May I ask you why you're pursuing this? These abilities will naturally improve as you evolve," Melina asked curiously.
Li En closed his eyes slightly, pondered for a moment, and then raised his head to answer: "Bigger is better, bigger is more beautiful, bigger is stronger!"
When he opened his eyes, he couldn't help but glance at Melina's graceful figure, quite pleased with his own words.
This is the law of nature; even kittens understand it!
Melina was speechless at this answer.
But considering Li En's identity as a young magical beast, this seems reasonable.
"Then it's up to you. Practicing like this shouldn't be a bad thing, but I suggest you take some extra lessons in this area."
Melina said helplessly, leading Li En upstairs.
Without any hesitation, Li En climbed up Melina's long legs.
Once he climbed onto Melina's shoulder, Li En looked down and felt dizzy; he couldn't see the ground at all.
Suddenly, he realized he had drunk the water too quickly and his body was cold. He wanted to find a warm place to rest.
But just as Li En leaned his head into the unfathomable collar, Luna popped out, opened her mouth wide, flicked her tongue, revealed two sharp teeth, and hissed.
Luna was furious at Li En's behavior of trying to barge in without knocking.
Li En felt guilty and shrank back, looking as if he had been caught doing something wrong.
"You two better behave yourselves."
Melina tapped Li En and Luna's heads respectively.
Although Luna stopped breathing, she remained firmly guarding Melina's collar, determined to protect her homeland.
"Tch, so stingy~"
Li En pouted, not bothering to argue with Luna.
Upon arriving at the dormitory, Melina took two books from the bookshelf and handed them to Li En.
"This book is about the limits of magical circuits, and the other one is my notes on breaking through those limits. You can take them back for reference."
Upon hearing this, Li En's eyes lit up; he hadn't expected such an unexpected gain.
Melina found some book-binding straps from somewhere and then secured the two books to either side of Li En's body.
"Take good care of the book, and don't lose it," Melina instructed.
Li En nodded repeatedly, telling her not to worry.
"Can I read these two books with Elaine?" Lee asked.
Melina couldn't help but smile, tapped Li En's head, and teased, "You're thinking of Elaine, but it's fine if she watches; she'll have to learn it sooner or later anyway."
Lee was even happier after receiving Melina's promise.
I got two professional books for free, and another one is Melina's personal experience. This is a huge win!
The more Li En learned magic, the more he understood that knowledge is power!
Melina's willingness to share these two books with Lee En is already very generous.
Li En, carrying two books strapped to his body, happily left Melina's dormitory.
As soon as Li En left, Luna popped out and complained, "That's a really bad, lecherous cat!"
"Haha, Luna, don't joke around. She's just a baby in her infancy. Are you going to be jealous of a baby too?" Melina didn't take it seriously at all.
"You didn't see it, he was staring at you so intently inside your collar!" Luna said through gritted teeth.
"How could that be? How could a kitten have those kinds of feelings towards humans? Even if it does, shouldn't it be like its mother?" Melina pondered.
Luna was taken aback, her expression clearly showing surprise.
"Missing your mom?"
"That's right. Think about it, you magical beasts lost your mothers when you were young. When you see something that evokes maternal traits, it's inevitable that you'll miss your own mothers, right?"
"Impossible, I didn't, don't talk nonsense!" Luna, who was always hiding inside Melina's clothes, was extremely anxious.
"It's also possible that cats and humans are both mammals," Melina thought, her imagination running wild.
Luna didn't bother to talk to her anymore and went back to her old home, sulking.
From as far back as she can remember, Melina's body has been her home, and no one can take it from her.
Especially that big, lecherous cat!
……
"Achoo~"
Li En sneezed for no apparent reason, blowing out a glistening bubble of snot.
"Hey, why am I sneezing? That doesn't make sense."
Li En was puzzled, but Elaine across from him laughed so hard she almost fell over, and even poked Li En's snot bubble with her finger.
"Where did you go off to mess around? How did you end up catching a cold?"
Elaine laughed at Li En, but didn't forget to give him a tissue to wipe his face.
Li En also rubbed her itchy nose on the paper, not knowing what was wrong with her.
"You even brought back two books. Did you steal them from the library?" Elaine became nervous.
"No, no, Melina gave it to us so we can study hard," Li En explained using his demonic powers.
Elaine breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this.
She helped Li En take the book down and then casually flipped through it.
"Eh, it's about the limits of magical circuits. We're supposed to learn this in our second year."
"Maybe it's to let you preview the material. It seems Melina thinks highly of you," Li En casually made up.
The two, a person and a cat, began studying in the room.
Li Enxue studied very diligently, and would ask Elaine for help with any unfamiliar terms.
Elaine lived up to her reputation as a top student, and was able to explain things in a way.
Elaine was surprised that Li En was studying so diligently, and was immediately moved. The study group of one person and one cat became very enthusiastic and seemed determined to study all night long.
Anyway, if your brain is tired, you can just meditate for a bit. Elaine believes that Li En won't refuse if it's for the sake of studying.
After all, we can't let our children suffer, and we can't neglect education, no matter how hard life is.
Thinking of this, Elaine's smile became increasingly difficult to suppress.
