Magical Cat

Chapter 64 The Old Dean

"Hear my desperate cry, Shadow Storm!"

The woman embraced Li En and sang a high-pitched song.

Then, the world went dark.

Countless shadows enveloped them, then transformed into sharp arrows, shooting towards Corbyn.

Seeing such an exaggerated scene, Li En stopped laughing and secretly prayed for Kobernis.

"Old man, you must survive!"

I apologized to you afterwards!

It seemed that Corbyn had received Lee's blessing and also rebelled.

A series of silver light shields erupted from the center of Corbrain, blocking wave after wave of shadow arrows.

Their magic continued unabated, neither of them stopping.

Seeing that there was no danger on either side, Li En started watching the spectacle.

"That old man's move is a combination of offense and defense."

"These high-level mages hardly ever chant during battle; they attack very quickly."

After witnessing several high-level battles, Li En no longer held the stereotype of magicians fighting.

He originally thought it would be a clash of voices after a long chanting session on both sides.

However, in actual combat, the pace of attacks between mages is very fast.

Its terrifying destructive power is particularly impressive.

"Each of them is practically a human nuclear weapon."

"No wonder the noble class, who possess magical talents, is in power."

In this situation, if the common people wanted to rebel, it would be like an egg hitting a rock—they would have no chance of winning.

As the magical clashes became increasingly intense, everyone could no longer pretend to be asleep.

Within the barrier, several figures dressed in pajamas appeared, floating in the air to watch the battle.

"Dean, the dormitory is about to collapse, aren't you going to stop them?"

"You all know how grumpy Sofia is in the morning, and besides, she wasn't just woken up, she was woken up in the middle of the night, okay?"

The old headmaster, dressed in oversized pajamas and wearing a pointed magic hat, said helplessly.

"I told you not to put them in the same room, and now look what happened, they're fighting again!"

"Every time a fight breaks out, half of the dormitory collapses. This time, I'm not repairing it. No amount of temporary compensation will help. There's no point in repairing a building that's bound to collapse!"

"Double the subsidy," the old dean coldly uttered.

"But then again..."

"The construction period will be halved!" the old director continued.

"I respect you, and I call you Dean. If I don't respect you, who do you think you are..."

"Hey, hey, don't talk about it, it's not easy for anyone..."

Before anyone could intervene to stop the fight below, they were already arguing fiercely upstairs, looking like they were about to come to blows.

Li En looked up in shock and memorized the faces of these people.

"Is this the teaching staff of the Royal Magic Academy?"

Whether they felt there were no outsiders or what, these people who looked like college teachers were as uncouth as old men on the street.

"Weren't magicians supposed to be very elegant? Was that just something they said to their students?"

At this moment, the old monks who were arguing fiercely also realized that something was wrong.

"Wait, there's an unfamiliar cat down there!"

Upon realizing that the old dean had noticed him, Li En quickly lowered his head.

"Huh, it spotted me right away! This cat is something else!" the old headmaster exclaimed.

Li En was startled, never expecting that he had been targeted.

"Stop talking nonsense, I'm going to fight you one-on-one today!"

Immediately afterwards, a violent magical fluctuation came from above.

Li En shrank back, wondering what was going on.

He simply followed Corbyn's instructions and cast a spell; how did it turn into this mess?

So, it's all Cobra's fault.

As Li En pondered this, it suddenly dawned on him.

"Bryan, is it really okay for you to teach kitten magic like this?"

Having figured these principles out, Li En immediately felt at ease watching the show.

"High-level magic is so cool."

A few minutes later, the magical fluctuations above their heads were the first to subside.

Immediately following was a stern rebuke: "Corbrain, Sophia, stop!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Li En suddenly felt a sense of oppression. His magic perception skill, which was always running on its own, paused for a moment.

The unpleasant feeling made Lee En almost want to vomit, but it subsided quickly.

When he recovered, the area before him became much clearer. All the fancy magic had vanished, leaving only a barren ruin.

The old dean stood between Corbyn and Sophia.

At this moment, Li En also got a clear look at the old dean's appearance.

He was also an old man, with white hair and beard, but he was much more elegant than Corbyn.

Her silver hair was casually draped over her shoulders, its color glossy and shiny, clearly meticulously styled.

His meticulously groomed white beard, without a single split, reached his chest and swayed gently in the wind.

Even though she was wearing pajamas, her pointed magic hat was perfectly straight.

His expression was kind and approachable; he was clearly a good old man with no airs.

"If you keep fighting, we won't have anywhere to sleep." The old dean raised his hands and pressed them down, signaling both sides to control their tempers.

"Is this my fault?" Sofia asked sternly, continuing, "It's all that old man's fault! Not only does he not sleep at night, but he also disturbs my sweet dreams, and he even went so far as to kidnap my kitten! I simply couldn't take it anymore!"

Sophia looked at the pitiful Li En in her arms and felt a surge of anger.

"When did I kidnap a kitten?" Cobra protested, pointing out his grievance.

But Sofia wouldn't listen to his explanation. She glared at him, clearly ready to beat him up if he said anything wrong.

Kobryan shut up in frustration.

It wasn't that he was afraid of Sophia, but he did bear some responsibility for what happened tonight.

If he hadn't taught Li En magic before, there wouldn't have been such a commotion.

But Cobra didn't want to say more about that.

Kobrain is becoming increasingly aware of just how special Li En's aptitude is.

If these old guys knew this, they would probably all be scrambling to study Li En.

Wouldn't that delay his own research?

Corbyn understood this perfectly well; he wasn't senile.

"Corbrian, what are you doing up so late at night instead of sleeping?"

Seeing his guilty look, the old dean questioned him.

"It's just a little research, what's all the fuss about?" Corbyn casually replied.

He had been experiencing unexpected problems during his research for quite some time, so he decided to push today's tasks onto that as well.

"You can stop your research. All the losses from tonight will be deducted from your research funds. After that, you'll have to cooperate with Professor Parker to repair the dormitory," the old dean declared.

"So what if I deduct it? What's the big deal?" Cobra readily accepted the punishment.

However, it was precisely his decisive attitude that aroused the old dean's suspicion.

In the past, no matter how much responsibility Brian had, he would always get angry whenever his research funding was cut.

But tonight seems unusually calm.

The old dean narrowed his eyes, carefully scanning the ruins before casting a suspicious glance at Li En in Sophia's arms.

"Does Corbyn have some new research topic?" the old dean wondered to himself.
