Magical Cat

Chapter 6 The Academic Elite

"Ten-minute break, we'll continue in ten minutes."

After speaking for an hour, Ms. Flint picked up her teacup and left.

The students quickly got up and moved around, but soon sat back down, closed their eyes, and began to meditate.

The lively atmosphere during break lasted only a couple of minutes before quieting down again.

Li En gritted his teeth as he watched this scene, finding it quite strange; he never imagined that a magician's class would be like this.

Elaine had told him before that meditation could restore one's spirit.

Focusing on a class for an hour is quite mentally taxing. Meditating at this time is the fastest way to restore energy so that they can continue to listen attentively in the second half of the class.

Therefore, it is evident that for magicians, the effects of meditation not only affect their cultivation but also their daily class efficiency.

Those who don't meditate as effectively as others will lack energy in the second half of the class and will have to rely on their notes to review on their own at home.

Magic courses typically start at two hours, with higher grades having courses that last four or five hours.

This is all because magicians with magical talent and meditation abilities also have mental capacity and concentration far exceeding that of ordinary people, allowing them to maintain high-efficiency learning for extended periods.

More importantly, magical knowledge is vast and boundless; without learning in this way, one simply cannot finish the curriculum of a magic academy.

The curriculum at the magic academy is the most basic of all knowledge in the entire magic world. Even if one were to devote oneself to studying only one area, it would take several lifetimes to complete it.

Therefore, magicians have always specialized in one area, and no one has ever dared to claim that they are an all-rounder.

Elaine had been standing for an hour, and her legs were already sore, but there was no chair for her to sit on, so she decided to go out and find a place to sit and meditate to recover her energy.

The school rules clearly stipulate that students of this college must abide by etiquette and norms, behave properly, and not act improperly.

This school rule may seem vague, but it is much more specific when put into practice.

For example, Elaine is facing a problem right now. According to school rules, she can only sit where she is supposed to, such as a chair in the classroom, a bench outside, or even the grass where students can rest, but she cannot sit on a table or on the ground.

Otherwise, it would be a violation of school rules.

Ms. Flint's difficult tactics were far more complex than they appeared.

At least during breaks for meditation, Elaine has to go outside to find a place, and in doing so, most of her rest time is wasted.

Then, Elaine will have an even harder time keeping up in the second half of the class.

Elaine was well aware of this, so she immediately headed outside.

But she had only taken a couple of steps when she felt someone tugging at the hem of her clothes.

She looked down and saw that it was Li En.

When Li En saw her looking over, she quickly jumped onto the chair.

The seat, which was originally covered with stone spikes, has now been partially cleared out, allowing people to sit down.

"Uh, this..."

Elaine was taken aback, not understanding what was going on.

She didn't think Ms. Flint would go easy on her.

Ms. Flint was notorious throughout the college for her harsh treatment of students on government scholarships.

"He did it for you."

At this moment, Elaine's bookish deskmate spoke up.

After all, she had watched Li En's homework the whole time, and now she was also full of questions.

"Miss Safina, you mean he cleared the splinters off the chair for me?" Elaine picked up Li En from the floor and confirmed again.

Li En was picked up, and her head was held high, looking like she wanted to be praised.

However, his naturally blank expression makes the contrast even more interesting.

Safina couldn't help but smile, but when she saw Li En's unfriendly gaze directed at her, she quickly composed herself and nodded.

Elaine's face showed surprise, and she didn't know what was going on.

But this classmate of mine was a top student who got full marks in all the theory courses last semester. Although he was a bit aloof, he had never spoken ill of me, so he probably wasn't playing a trick on me.

Moreover, the teachers in the magic academy are all mages who surpass high-level mages, and their strength should not be underestimated.

How could Li En, a juvenile magical beast, possibly dismantle a mage's magic?

Although Elaine had some doubts, she still sat down first.

The seat that Li En cleared out was just big enough for her to sit on about half of her bottom.

Although sitting like this is a bit tiring, it's still more comfortable than standing and meditating.

"Miss Elaine, your magical beast seems to be..." Safina wanted to ask her question.

But Elaine interrupted first, saying, "Miss Safina, the second half of the class is about to begin. Let's meditate and recover our energy as soon as possible."

After saying that, Elaine hugged Li En and entered into meditation.

It wasn't that Elaine was being rude, but rather that she didn't know how to answer.

Since yesterday's meditation, she had vaguely sensed that Li En was not as ordinary as he seemed.

But Elaine didn't know what this unusual answer was.

At first, she just wanted to save an innocent little life, but now her feelings are becoming more and more complicated.

Seeing that Elaine had already entered a meditative state, Safina had no choice but to give up regretfully. Her inability to satisfy her thirst for knowledge was very distressing for her.

But the next moment, Safina suddenly turned her head and looked at Elaine.

As a fellow mage, Safina could sense that magic was beginning to gather around Elaine.

"You entered meditation so quickly!?"

You know, you need to prepare yourself before you can sleep.

A magician's meditation isn't like eating or drinking; it doesn't come on cue.

At that moment, Safina suddenly felt that her classmate, who was a student sponsored by a commoner, had become a stranger.

She knew that Elaine had good magical talent and studied diligently, but she never realized that Elaine also had such a powerful talent for meditation.

Thinking of this, a serious look flashed in Safina's eyes behind her glasses. She sat up straight, closed her eyes, and began to meditate.

After the break, my mind felt refreshed, as if I had slept soundly all night.

Before Ms. Flint re-entered the classroom, Elaine stood up again, and quietly raised her index finger to her lips and winked at Li En.

Although she could sit in the chair, she still chose to stand and listen to the rest of the class.

The other students also awoke from their meditation one by one after Ms. Flint returned.

Apart from Safina, who sits at the same table, no one else knows what's going on here.

It was also thanks to their usual habit of ignoring Elaine's presence that no one noticed anything unusual.

Li En watched this scene and could only sigh inwardly.

He was well aware that if Elaine sat and listened to the lecture, it would likely cause even more trouble.

But despite her understanding, Li En still needed to vent her frustrations.

He climbed back onto the chair and continued grinding his teeth, which he hadn't finished.

Safina also stopped listening to the lesson, focusing on watching Li En's seductive figure grinding his teeth, watching his tail and little butt sway back and forth, and the stone spikes being bitten off and dissipated one by one.

Safina adjusted her glasses, looking puzzled, and asked:

"What exactly is the principle behind this?"
