Magical Cat

Chapter 4 Making Things Difficult

"What? You're going to force me to uninstall QQ?!"

When Li En saw the punishment, he was immediately terrified and his soul seemed to tremble.

He quickly looked down and sure enough, he saw a small dot under his abdomen.

Although it has only just begun to sprout and the outlines of the two large fruits are not yet visible, its future vitality is clearly promising.

How can such a bright future be ruined like this?

Li En wished he could snatch the book from Elaine's hands and search for a way to renegotiate the contract himself.

But at this moment, Elaine, who had been flipping through the book for a long time, closed it and rubbed her temples wearily.

"No, sis, keep looking!"

Li En was so anxious that he used his paws to pry at the book, urging Elaine to quickly open it again.

However, reading magical text is very mentally taxing, but the speed at which information is acquired is correspondingly fast.

Li En didn't notice when he was checking the mission information that Elaine had actually finished reading the book.

"Even if I continue to replenish my magical energy, can I only prolong my life for a short time?"

"I didn't realize contracts were so important to magical beasts. Don't worry, this book doesn't explain how to re-establish a contract with an abandoned magical beast. I'll ask my teacher today; there's bound to be a way."

Elaine spoke softly, in a voice only she and Lee could hear.

She didn't know that Li En could read magical text, nor did she think that Li En could understand the current situation, but she still offered words of comfort.

It's unclear whether she was trying to reassure Li En or herself.

Elaine usually has no expression and gives people a cold feeling that keeps them at a distance.

But this was just a form of self-protection for her.

Elaine wasn't as cold as she seemed, and she often talked to herself in private, revealing a warm heart beneath her cold exterior.

She reached out and touched Li En on her shoulder.

Young magical beasts are very light, almost imperceptible, since their main component is magic power.

Li En was taken aback when he heard this.

He was so focused on checking the task panel that he didn't finish reading the last paragraph of the book.

Elaine's words made him fall into deep thought.

"If magical beasts die without being bound to a contract, isn't it more than just a matter of mana supply?"

"The task panel in my mind also requires me to complete the contract again, even at the cost of sacrificing my reproductive ability..."

While gritting his teeth, Li En felt that his cheat ability might not be as simple as it seemed.

Seeing that Li En had quieted down, Elaine turned to check the time; class was about to start.

She immediately left the library and headed towards the classroom.

The Royal Magic Academy has three grades. After completing the graduation exam in the third year, students can leave the academy and become a formal magician.

Elaine is a first-year student who was specially recruited as a sponsor because she was a commoner who unexpectedly awakened her magical talent.

Magical talent is mainly inherited through bloodline, so nobles place great importance on birth and lineage.

The phenomenon of Elaine suddenly developing magical talent is called "awakening mutation".

Walking through the academy's corridors, you can see many other magic academy students.

They were all wearing the same style of school uniform as Elaine, only in different colors, making them look more glamorous, and their accessories and school bags and stationery all looked expensive.

Li En noticed that some students' school uniforms had some differences in details, with special silver and gold threads used as decoration.

He guessed that these similar features might be used to distinguish grades or identities.

As Elaine walked, she began to walk along the edges of the corridor, trying to minimize her presence.

But her outstanding appearance and white hair with red eyes were simply too eye-catching.

Many people cast glances at Elaine, but when they saw her somewhat faded school uniform, they all revealed a tacit expression of contempt.

Most people simply looked away and ignored Elaine.

Yet some people still openly mocked and even hurled insults at others.

Mudbloods, outcasts, paupers, parasites, whores...

All sorts of baseless and vicious words were thrown at Elaine.

Elaine simply kept her head down and continued on her way, ignoring all the comments.

Li En stood on Elaine's shoulders, glaring at the students who were hurling insults at him.

These students were also accompanied by their own arrogant magical beasts, which cast the same disdainful glances at Li En.

Even magical beasts that are also young learn to look down on others from their masters.

"What kind of foolish, lucky school is this!"

Li En cursed inwardly.

How can you insult such a cute little girl? Do you have no humanity?

Elaine quickened her pace, arrived at the classroom, and found a corner seat to sit down.

The classroom wasn't large, and it looked like it could only hold a maximum of twenty or thirty students. When Elaine and Li En arrived, there were still quite a few empty seats in the classroom.

Elaine had just sat down and caught her breath when she heard a thin, shrill voice coming from the podium:

"Miss Elaine, you're late."

On the platform, an elegantly dressed old lady with her full head of silver hair meticulously styled was staring at Elaine.

The old lady wore a pair of reading glasses that covered most of her face, behind which were a pair of sharp, triangular eyes that looked at Elaine with considerable hostility.

"I'm sorry, Ms. Hilda." Elaine stood up calmly and bowed to the podium in apology.

"Call me Ms. Flint!"

The old lady slammed her black pointer, made of an unknown material, onto the podium. Although she held it with only two fingers, it made a loud noise that startled the other students in the classroom.

"You nameless mud-bloods have absolutely no manners, not even the most basic politeness."

"I don't know why the academy recruited someone like you. Not only did you waste funding, but you also tarnished the noble bloodline of the Royal Magic Academy..."

The old woman pointed at Elaine's nose and began a long, rambling speech, using various methods to insult and belittle her.

Some of the other students in the classroom rolled their eyes and started reading, while others gloated and watched the show from the sidelines.

Elaine seemed to be used to it all along, keeping her head down and remaining silent, waiting for the old lady to stop scolding when she got tired.

Students continued to enter the classroom, sitting down and watching the play with smiles on their faces.

The old lady cursed for several minutes before the sound of the magic alarm clock rang in the corridor, reminding everyone that it was time for class.

When the bell rang, a few students still managed to enter the classroom just in time, finally filling the remaining empty seats.

Li En stood on Elaine's shoulder, glaring angrily at the old woman on the podium.

The school bell has just rung, and many people have only just entered the classroom. Why is Elaine the only one who is late?

Isn't this blatant bullying?

Hilda Flint, the elderly woman on the podium, whether she was about to start a lesson or had simply grown tired of scolding, finally stopped talking, picked up her teacup, and took a small sip to moisten her throat.

At that moment, someone in the audience spoke up: "Ms. Flint, these mudbloods are just cheap. Otherwise, why would they be so eager to pick up the trash I just threw away?"

As soon as he said this, the classroom erupted in laughter.

Elaine lowered her head even further in silence.

The speaker was a tall young man wearing a bright red magic robe.

His clothes were well-tailored and elegantly decorated, but his appearance was not good. His square face had features clustered together, leaving a lot of blank space.

The contrast between his appearance and clothing made him look quite comical, but his tone and posture clearly showed that he was a proud person.

On his shoulder perched a black bird the size of a sparrow, also gazing at the sky with its head held high, seemingly unfazed.

"Mr. Weber summarized it very well."

Ms. Flint smiled and nodded, then looked at Elaine, her smile vanishing completely, replaced by an icy seriousness:

"I warned you, Miss Elaine."

As a student supported by the common people, you should be grateful to the college and arrive at least ten minutes early for class. Otherwise, how can you keep up with the course if you come from a common background?

Not only would it delay the course progress, but it would also bring me a bad reputation for being an incompetent teacher.

The old lady accused her of several serious crimes, and Elaine repeatedly promised not to do so again, but the other party still did not let her off the hook.

"You'll be standing for this class."

The old lady turned around and began the lesson, but waved her pointer at Elaine.

The next moment, sharp stone spikes sprouted from Elaine's chair, gleaming with a cold light.

"Of course, please make yourself at home if you have a place to sit."

The old lady sneered, ignoring Elaine who was standing there, and began the lesson.
