Magical Cat
Chapter 27 Serious Matters
Melina took a deep breath and calmed herself down.
The students were already terrified and dared not cause any more trouble.
Melina is usually kind and approachable, and rarely so serious, which makes everyone cautious.
"If there are still doubts, I can have Elaine show her student card after class to display the magic records on it."
But no one should fabricate rumors and slander their classmates without any basis or based solely on imagination.
"Especially in my classes!"
"Do you understand?"
"Understood!" the students answered in unison.
"Okay, let's continue the lesson." Melina waved her hand, letting the matter drop.
The students breathed a sigh of relief and dared not gossip anymore, focusing instead on practicing their magic.
Seeing that the classroom had returned to order, Melina walked over to Elaine and said to her, "After aiming at the target, push the fireball out. Don't try to control it with your mental power. The condensed spell won't dissipate halfway like an elemental ball."
Elaine did as she was told, and the fireball roared as it struck the target, emitting a green light.
The fireball was much more powerful than the elemental ball, and a faint heat wave could be felt on the other side.
Melina, standing nearby, nodded in agreement: "The power is good, but to consistently land critical hits, the magic power needs to be compressed by at least half."
Melina patted Elaine's head, praising her while also offering some pointers.
Elaine nodded, showing no fear of the difficulty, and replied firmly, "Teacher, I will do it."
She knew that Melina had just stood up for her.
If it were any other teacher, they wouldn't have stood up for her at all; they might even have gone along with it, confirming Elaine's suspicion of violating school rules, terminating her practical course, and sending her to be investigated.
"Oh, right, I just blurted out that I wanted you to release the spellcasting records from your student ID card..."
Before Melina could finish speaking, Elaine interrupted, "Teacher, I have no objections. I'm willing to cooperate."
Melina looked at Elaine with pity and nodded with a smile.
In fact, if it were someone else, there would be no need to do this at all.
The burden of proof lies with the one who raises the question.
Unfortunately, this time it was the nobles questioning the commoners.
This was still at the Royal Academy of Magic; otherwise, Elaine might not have even had the chance to prove herself.
Melina offered a few more words of encouragement before turning her attention to the other students.
In just a short while, quite a few envious glances were already being cast over.
As Li En watched Melina leave, he also noticed the jealousy his classmates felt towards Elaine.
"This guy is usually pretty reliable."
Despite this thought, Melina's image in his mind could no longer be that of the sexy female teacher she once was.
Melina's twisted smile on the night the contract was signed remains a recurring nightmare for Lee En.
Moreover, what just happened served as a reminder to Li En.
He needed to help Elaine improve her status at the academy as soon as possible, otherwise it wouldn't be right for these little Karami to keep coming to cause trouble and provoke him.
"Special instruction, you know..."
Watching Melina's departing figure, Li En decided that he had to let Elaine try, no matter what.
He knew this was definitely not the same as the special instruction he had envisioned, but he had seen the reactions of everyone else before.
Elaine must have what others want!
If Li En doesn't spoil her own child, who will?
He then looked at Weber, who was not far away. The kid was desperately squeezing out magic power and constantly attacking the target with fireballs, seemingly trying to gamble on the odds.
Whenever he had a spare moment, Webber would sneak peeks at Elaine. If it weren't for the bet, Lee would have suspected that the kid had a crush on Elaine.
"The bet is no longer an issue; we still need to convince everyone."
At this point, Li En also felt that Elaine should become more high-profile.
Elaine tried the fireball spell again, but this time Li En didn't assist her.
He activated his Quantitative Eye and discovered that the value on Elaine had changed from twelve to nine.
"Fireball spell actually consumed three points of mana?"
With Elaine's current magic level, she can only unleash a maximum of four fireballs in a row.
He then turned to observe the others and realized that he had been naive.
This is not a game, but a real magical world. No one would do something as dangerous as exhausting their magic power.
Most students will begin meditating to recover their condition after consuming half of their magic power.
Some people are stubborn and will persist a little longer, but it is obvious that excessive magic consumption will affect the spellcasting state.
Ultimately, magic power is similar to physical strength; as it is depleted, it greatly affects performance.
"No wonder meditation is a fundamental skill; just the ability to regenerate mana and restore status can create a huge difference."
Thinking this, Li En nuzzled Elaine's cheek with his head.
As soon as he made this gesture, Elaine showed a helpless expression, because Li En always greeted her like this whenever he wanted to go out and play.
Elaine herself was well aware that Li En's assistance would greatly help her and make a world of difference in the effectiveness of her spells.
However, she also gave Li En enough freedom, after all, Li En was only a juvenile magical beast, which was equivalent to a human infant.
Didn't you see that no one else brings their magical beasts to class?
Because at this stage, magical beasts are purely a burden; they don't ask you to replenish their mana when you're casting spells, which is already quite considerate.
A magical beast like Li En, which can help its master even in infancy, is something I've never heard of before.
So, Li En can play for a while if she wants.
As long as they don't cause trouble, Elaine still gives them plenty of freedom.
But Elaine still didn't understand that her young magical beast wasn't going to play, but had serious business to attend to.
He went over to a few classmates who were enthusiastically waving their magic wands and began to watch them intently.
What a wand can do, Li En can do too.
What the wand can't do, Li En will do even more.
As for why only female students were chosen to observe carefully, that's none of your business!
It has absolutely nothing to do with Chanel style!
The world of magic is very complex and difficult for ordinary people to grasp.
Cats are another story.
Li En found a comfortable position to lie on the ground, sniffing the air as he watched his female classmate wield her magic wand.
"After Webber and his buddies ran away, not many people were still using wands. Luckily, a few students from other classes came."
Those in the class who can afford to use a magic wand are already considered well-off.
But they weren't quite as good as Webber and his friends.
Unable to afford a private tutor, I had to resort to the old method: using a magic wand in class to get a feel for the game.
Li En had already successfully replicated the wand's auxiliary abilities last time.
This time, we'll look at how the wand assists in spell casting.
"Hmm? The magic power supplied by the wand during the condensation seems a little different."
Using his magic perception skill, Li En quickly noticed the anomaly.
"The magic transmitted through the wand is also compressed proportionally!"
After observing for a long time, he finally figured it out.
Li En had been using the same magic to assist Elaine, focusing intently on the ever-shrinking window of opportunity.
Through observation, he discovered that when a spell is condensed, the wand also compresses the magic power proportionally, and then delivers it at the key point.
"I see. Not only do you need to seize the opportunity, but you also need to compress your magic power proportionally to better assist in spell condensation. Although it's a bit difficult, you should be able to do it with practice."
Li En had previously seemed somewhat flustered when trying to seize increasingly shorter window opportunities, and now he has to add even more operations to his schedule.
He watched his female classmate waving her magic wand, becoming increasingly engrossed, muttering to himself and offering serious professional analysis.
"The Royal Magic Academy's aesthetic sense still needs improvement."
The kitten shook its head.
"The school uniform is an oversized magic robe, which makes it very inconvenient for students to move around and frequently hinders their spellcasting. How can this be allowed?"
The kitten was furious.
"If I were the principal, I'd definitely dress them all in magical miniskirts—they'd be so cool!"
