Magical Cat

Chapter 10 Reasons

The practical class lasted the entire afternoon, starting at 2 p.m. and ending at 5 p.m.

If you fail to complete the classroom tasks within the allotted time for the practical session, you will not receive any points for the session.

This is related to the final grade, so all students have to take it seriously.

The excellent evaluation is even more important, as it relates to end-of-semester honors, which are linked to tangible rewards.

As soon as Teacher Melina finished speaking, everyone began to try out the elemental ball magic.

First, the magic was successfully cast, and an elemental sphere was formed.

Only those who successfully cast the spell are qualified to go forward and shoot.

At Melina's command, the students chanted incantations in unison.

"By summoning the long wind, gathering the air currents and spiritual energy, and using my power to condense a magic sphere, I imprinted a shattering mark, causing everything that touches it to crumble!"

"Calling forth flowing water from the abyss..."

"Calling the earth from the earth..."

Li En carefully observed this scene and silently memorized everyone's incantations.

Except for the first sentence, which is slightly different due to the attribute, the rest is the same.

As the students chanted incantations, all kinds of magical energy in the training ground began to come alive.

The active magic made Lee En's body feel comfortable as well.

Elaine didn't start trying immediately; instead, she closed her eyes and prepared herself.

Elaine slowly opened her eyes and began chanting the spell as others began their second or third recitation.

"Summoning raging flames from the heavens, gathering the fiery spiritual energy, and using my power to condense them into a magical sphere, imprinting it with a shattering mark, causing anything that touches it to crumble!"

As Elaine chanted, she clenched her palms together, forming a ball.

Through her palm, fire elements began to condense, faster and faster, and began to appear as visible red specks.

The red light continued to gather, and a light sheen of sweat began to appear on Elaine's smooth, fair forehead.

But when the light condensed into the size of a billiard ball, it suddenly shattered with a bang, and the condensed fire element also dissipated and quickly disappeared.

Elaine couldn't help but exhale a breath of stale air, but quickly tried again.

Li En leaned on Elaine's shoulder, taking in the entire scene.

He looked at the others and found that they were not as good as Elaine; they couldn't even condense an elemental ball the size of a billiard ball.

"Is basic magic really that difficult? No wonder the practical classes are so long."

Li En silently observed the situation in the classroom.

He was also very interested in magic, since as a magical beast, he would eventually master this ability.

Seeing how difficult it was for these mages who had been taking theoretical classes for half a year, Li En couldn't help but feel a little apprehensive.

Ms. Melina moved among the students, offering guidance from time to time, and sometimes even needing to intervene physically.

Some students were so impatient that they showed signs of elemental imbalance while chanting incantations.

At such times, Melina would gently wave her wand, creating a magical shield to protect the out-of-control students.

Those out-of-control elements will explode on the spot with a bang. Some are small and just make the students look dirty, but others explode loudly and are quite dangerous.

Melina's actions are selective; if there is no danger, she doesn't mind letting her students suffer a bit and learn a lesson.

While everyone was focused on trying out magic, some people were looking around in the crowd.

"Weber, look, that penniless wretch has finally shown his true colors."

"I knew it! Last semester was all theory classes, and this guy managed to slack off. How could he possibly keep up with us real aristocrats in the practical classes!"

"Hmph, this bitch has been smug for so long, it's finally her turn to suffer."

Weber listened to the conversation of the people around him and felt a sense of satisfaction. He gave Elaine a cold glance as she kept failing to cast spells.

He was already proud and arrogant, but last semester his grades were steadily surpassed by Elaine, a commoner, so how could he not be angry?

Children born into noble families often have parents who are magicians themselves. They are exposed to magic from a young age and, under their parents' guidance, have a solid foundation for learning magic.

However, after entering the Royal Magic Academy, his grades were not as good as those of a commoner who had never been exposed to magic, which was unacceptable to many people.

Most of the students in the class who spoke ill of Elaine and picked fights with her for no reason were driven by this mentality.

As for the discrimination of nobles against commoners, it is ingrained in everyone's bones.

However, this discrimination amplified the negative feelings of these nobles who were not as academically successful as Elaine.

It's incredibly painful when your grades aren't as good as someone you look down on.

"From today onwards, I will make her understand just how vast the gap is between nobles and commoners!" Weber said coldly, uttering what he thought was a very cool statement.

His friends were also very supportive, praising Webber to the point of elation.

After Weber finished speaking, he began to concentrate on casting the spell, but he failed several times in a row.

The atmosphere suddenly became a little awkward, and the group immediately turned around, pretending to be seriously casting a spell.

Webber's face darkened, and he slowly took out a wand that looked like a withered branch from his waist.

The wand was only thirty centimeters long, much smaller than the staff in Teacher Melina's hand.

Weber drew a circle with his wand, successfully gathering enough elements in one go to complete the spell.

But instead of calling for his teacher, he canceled the spell and used one hand to cast the spell while using his wand to help condense the elements.

Weber was using this method to help him grasp the feeling of casting spells more quickly.

The other friends could only look on with envy; clearly, not everyone could afford such a wand.

Melina noticed what was happening immediately, but she ignored it, clearly Weber's actions did not violate classroom rules.

As Webber took out his wand to assist him, several other students gritted their teeth and began to follow suit.

Sure enough, with the help of the wands, these people quickly mastered the knack and finally completed the casting of the elemental ball spell with their bare hands.

"Teacher, I succeeded in casting the spell!"

"Teacher, I'm all set now."

"teacher……"

Several people began to give their reports.

After Melina checked and confirmed that everything was correct, she arranged for them to go to the front to practice shooting.

The other students who were still trying couldn't help but cast envious glances, and then became even more anxious.

With some people already practicing shooting, it's clear they're getting closer to completing their classroom assignments.

Only the first ten people to complete the task received an excellent rating, and everyone couldn't help but feel anxious.

Elaine couldn't help but speed up her chanting, but this time the elements showed signs of getting out of control. The originally neat, round fire elemental began to develop burrs, and its shape became slightly distorted.

Melina also turned her gaze over at the same time, ready to step in and protect Elaine at any moment.

Li En also noticed the abnormality, and her heart jumped into her throat.

But Elaine remained calm, trying her best to control the elemental sphere in her palm and attempting to regain control.

Compared to anyone else, Elaine is the one who most needs excellent evaluation.

If her grades aren't good enough, the Royal Magic Academy will revoke her status as a commoner scholarship student and kick her out.

Therefore, Elaine must learn better than everyone else!
