My Dongguan Love Story

Chapter 40 Cut Li Qing's Rope

The van drove off onto the road, the wind whistling into the vehicle.

Even with the wind blowing, large beads of sweat kept appearing on the buzz-cut man's face. He would occasionally glance worriedly at the rearview mirror, wanting to see what I was doing.

I watched the scenery along the road, gradually moving from the bustling city center to the sparsely populated suburbs. Eventually, I entered an urban village.

After passing a fishpond, we went up a slope and finally stopped on the hillside.

I turned my head and leaned against the window to look out. There were quite a few thugs in front of me, holding machetes and staring at us.

After seeing Brother Nan and the others, the man with the crew cut finally felt a little relieved.

With that newfound confidence, his voice became stronger, and he turned to me and yelled, "Get out of the car!"

I heard him yell at me, so I quickly slapped him across the face.

"Damn it, you've got some nerve, daring to yell at me."

The slap caused him excruciating pain on his face. He was so frightened that he dared not speak and hurriedly ran out of the car.

After getting out of the car, he ran while pointing at me and shouting, "You're dead! You're dead!"

Brother Nan, sitting on a chair by the door, saw the crew-cut man rushing over, his face covered and covered in sweat. He gave a low shout:

"Why are you running?"

When the crew-cut man got closer and saw the slap mark on his face, she was so angry that she kicked him:

"Useless trash, you think you can get beaten up just for picking someone up?"

The man with the buzz cut was kicked to the ground, in excruciating pain, but dared not utter a sound.

Nan Ge turned to look at the bread truck and waved:

"Go, bring the person here."

"Okay, Brother Nan." Several of his underlings walked towards the bread truck.

Splash!

Seeing them surrounding me, I pushed open the car door and stepped out, bending over.

My tall, imposing figure had just stepped out of the car.

The thugs who had been surrounding me suddenly stopped in their tracks.

I looked down and saw that these thugs were not only thin, but also short, probably only about 1.6 meters tall.

I feel like I weigh more than both of them combined.

Brother Nan looked at my imposing manner and sneered:

"How dare you come here? Aren't you afraid at all?"

I looked at the bald man sitting by the door, guessing that this was the "Brother Nan" the crew-cut guy had mentioned, and slowly walked towards him:

"Brother Nan, right? My girlfriend is in your hands?"

When Nan Ge heard what I said, he smiled and pointed to the sky. I followed his finger and looked up at the sky, and my pupils immediately contracted.

Outside the window on the third floor, Tang Yan and her cousin-in-law were struggling and swaying.

Meeting my gaze, she looked anxious and called out urgently. However, with a stocking stuffed in her mouth, she could only manage muffled sounds.

Seeing this, I was so angry that my face flushed red and my eyes became bloodshot. I turned to look at Brother Nan:

"Put them down."

Seeing that I was so angry my face turned red, Brother Nan laughed and leaned back in his chair:

"You think I'll just release it because you tell me to? Don't I have any dignity?"

"How can we get them down?" I knew that since Brother Nan had called me here, he must have something in mind.

Brother Nan smiled and waved:

"Sure, agree to two conditions and I'll release him."

"You say it," I said, my face grim.

"First, bring Li Chenghai here. Second, surrender."

This request is so outrageous that it made me laugh in anger.

Even if Li Chenghai hadn't gone abroad, I wouldn't kidnap him. What would I do with him? Extort him? Would I have saved him for nothing?

As for the second point, it's even more outrageous. If I surrender, not only will I be doomed, but my cousin-in-law and Tang Yan will also be unable to be saved.

"How is it?" Brother Nan asked, crossing his legs and smiling at me.

He knew I definitely wouldn't agree to his demands, but so what? Once you're in the lion's den, do you have a choice? I still have to do whatever he says.

I looked away from Brother Nan and glanced around.

There were many thugs holding machetes all around, roughly twenty in number.

Some of these men were emaciated, while others were obese and weak. Armed with machetes, they would be virtually invincible against ordinary residents. But for me, defeating them wouldn't be difficult.

The real challenge is rescuing my cousin's wife and the others right under their noses. After all, they're tied up and hanging high in the air. The only way to save them is to defeat Brother Nan and his gang.

But if I make the first move, and Brother Nan orders the people on the third floor to cut the rope, then my cousin-in-law and the others will lose their lives.

Nan Ge's crossed legs kept shaking. Seeing me looking around helplessly, he secretly felt smug, a smile of having caught a turtle in a jar appearing on his lips.

I looked at Brother Nan, and our eyes met.

Suddenly, an idea came to mind.

Aha! Capture the leader first! If we catch Brother Nan, will the others not surrender?

I pressed my right foot firmly against the ground, bent my knee slightly, and sprang forward, shooting towards Brother Nan.

Before the two thugs in front of me could react, I knocked them down with a single punch.

At this point, I was about twenty steps away from Brother Nan. After defeating these two people, I had closed to within ten steps.

In ten steps, in just three breaths, I can reach Brother Nan, grab his neck, and make him beg for mercy.

Brother Nan clearly didn't expect me to rush towards him without saying a word. Seeing the two thugs in front of him being knocked down, he quickly grabbed the pistol on the table.

The pistol was already loaded; he picked it up, pointed it at me, and pulled the trigger.

Bang~

A loud bang came from the pistol.

My pupils snapped open violently, and I felt a gust of wind whistling past my ear. The force of the bullet even grazed the skin near my ear.

I never expected Brother Nan to have a handgun!

After missing his first shot, he quickly aimed at me and fired a second and third shot.

After the first shot, I realized what was happening and quickly rolled to the ground, rolling twice.

The area they had just rolled over was now riddled with bullets.

I rolled to the side and saw a thug grab a machete and swing it at me. I quickly rolled over, kicked the machete out of his hand, grabbed him, and hid behind him.

Bang~

A gunshot rang out, the bullet hit him, and I was also covered in blood.

If I hadn't used him as a shield, I would probably be the one getting hit by the bullet now.

After being shot, the thug's pupils widened suddenly, and then he fainted from the pain.

Seeing that he had missed, Brother Nan gripped his pistol and aimed it at me again, searching for an opening. Seeing me sway, he quickly pulled the trigger.

Bang bang~

Two more shots came, and I quickly dodged, but the bullets hit the thugs.

Damn, this Brother Nan is too ruthless! He doesn't even spare his own underlings?

I quickly pushed him forward, and he rolled away, hiding behind the wall of the house next door.

When Nan Ge saw me hiding, a smile appeared on his lips.

He waved towards the third floor:

"Cut the rope binding Li Qing."

After saying that, he smiled and looked at me.
