"Achoo!" Sheng Qiming sneezed loudly, wrapped in his down jacket. He asked curiously, "Did you guys see the fireworks show yesterday? Was it really that good?"

Although he didn't go to the square with them to watch the fireworks yesterday, he still managed to catch a cold downstairs at Swan Bay.

On New Year's Eve, he didn't even see a single hair on Lin Su's head.

"I didn't see it." Shao Huaizhi leaned against the hospital bed, an IV drip attached to the back of his pale hand, with a faint bluish tinge around it.

He must have been incredibly stupid to go to the square with He Zaizhou to watch the fireworks show yesterday. As soon as he got out of the car, all he could see were huge crowds of people, and the cold wind made him shiver.

Everywhere was crowded with people, packed tightly together. Shao Huaizhi felt that his sudden fever in the middle of the night was because he had been infected with a virus.

He didn't stay long before leaving, as did He Zaizhou and Zong Yan. They never expected so many people to be waiting in the square to watch the fireworks.

When Shao Huaizhi returned home, he was hospitalized in the middle of the night due to a fever. Sheng Qiming came to visit him after hearing about it, also to see him make a fool of himself.

"You went there specifically to see the fireworks but didn't see them?" Sheng Qiming chuckled. "Luckily, I didn't go."

Shao Huaizhi looked tired and didn't bother with him. Sheng Qiming hadn't come specifically to see him either. He took the medicine the doctor had prescribed for him and left.

He was too lazy to drive, so he took a taxi here, and he'll have to call another taxi to get home.

Sheng Qiming had just taken out his phone while standing by the roadside when he looked up and saw that it was truly a chance encounter from afar. He immediately strode after him.

"Lin Su".

Lin Su was walking with her head down when she heard hurried footsteps behind her. The next second, her wrist was tightly grabbed by the person who came.

"What are you doing here? You caught a cold too?" Sheng Qiming grabbed Lin Su's wrist and looked down at her face, but most of her face was covered by a scarf.

Sheng Qiming thought that he could recognize her even like this, how could it not be fate? It must have been too cold yesterday, so she went to bed early.

"No." Lin Su pulled her hand away and pulled the scarf covering her face up a little higher. "Do you have a cold?"

"Yes." Sheng Qiming's eyes lit up when he saw that she was still concerned about him. "I accidentally caught a chill yesterday, but it's okay, not too serious."

"Then don't get too close to me." Lin Su took a step back. "It's easy to catch it."

Sheng Qiming was taken aback for a moment, and a hint of resentment immediately appeared on his handsome face. "Are you afraid I'll infect you? Do you even know why I caught a cold?"

He sent her so many messages, but she didn't reply to a single one.

"I don't want to know."

Sheng Qiming: "..."

Sheng Qiming looked like he was about to cry; all his confidence had crumbled in front of Lin Su.

He used to look down on her so much, but now it's her turn to look down on him no matter what.

He already knows he was wrong, so why can't she forgive him?

Sheng Qiming's gaze towards her was particularly resentful, and his aggressive eyes made his features even more striking and intimidating, like a bewitching flower blooming in a sacred snowy region.

Lin Su kept her hands in her pockets and looked away, not daring to look at him.

Looking away, Lin Su saw a figure standing by the roadside on the other side. Her heart skipped a beat, and she quickly looked up. "It's too cold. You should go home."

Sheng Qiming: "Do you still care if I'm cold?"

Lin Su nodded. "You should go home now."

Sheng Qiming snorted coldly, "I'm not going back. I'd rather freeze to death."

Lin Su: "..."

Lin Su glanced to the side quietly; Chen Mu was standing on the other side of the road waiting for her.

He stood there quietly, neither looking at her nor urging her to come over.

"Go home soon, and remember to send me a message when you get home," Lin Su said, looking up.

Sheng Qiming snorted again, "You've already deleted me from WeChat."

"I'll add it back later."

"Alright then." Sheng Qiming reluctantly agreed. He actually wanted to say a few more words to her, but he had a cold and couldn't help sneezing. He was holding it in.

He didn't want to sneeze in front of Lin Su, as it would ruin his image in her eyes.

Sheng Qiming got into a taxi and drove away. Lin Su waved to him under his resentful gaze. Only after the taxi had gone far away did she cross the street.

Chen Mu woke up with a cough this morning. The two of them went out to get medicine. They didn't want Lin Su to come along, but she quietly followed.

"Ahem, let's go." Chen Mu, wearing a white mask, coughed lightly without asking any questions.

Lin Su stood beside him with her head down, showing no intention of explaining.

They returned home in silence. After entering the house, Chen Mu poured her a glass of hot water and poured one for himself as well. He then took the medicine he had just been prescribed.

Lin Su held the water glass in both hands, looking down at the tips of her slippers.

Chen Mu drank the medicine, coughed again, and said in a hoarse voice, "Susu, I'm not rejecting you."

Thank you, but no need.

Isn't that a rejection?

Lin Su pursed her lips. "Do you think my money isn't clean?"

"No." Chen Mu frowned. "Don't overthink it."

Does telling her not to overthink things really stop her from overthinking? Lin Su muttered softly, "I've been thinking about it all night."

"I'm sorry," Chen Mu apologized. "It's my fault."

"Of course it's his fault," Lin Su said, gripping her water glass tightly. "I'm moving out tomorrow."

Chen Mu: "Okay."

Lin Su looked up in disbelief, pursed her lips, and saw Chen Mu standing in front of her. He looked down at her and reached out to touch her head.

"I'm sorry," he said softly, "I didn't explain myself clearly."

Lin Su blinked.

"I don't want you to support me, but I also don't want you to move out," Chen Mu said. "I want to live with you."

Lin Su said "Oh," meaning it's the same as now.

He really didn't like her.

But he was still the same good man, even taking a whole night to consider his words before rejecting her.

"Okay." Lin Su thought for a moment and looked up. Before she could see anything clearly, she was already in a warm embrace. Chen Mu leaned down and hugged her.

"Susu, would you like to be with me?" Chen Mu asked in a low voice.

Lin Su buried her face in his chest, her breath carrying his familiar scent, and her eyes instantly welled up with tears.

"Do you like me?" Lin Su's muffled voice came from his embrace. "If I don't like you, I won't be with you."

"I like it," Chen Mu said.

Lin Su's breath hitched. She couldn't help but hug him tightly, rubbing her cheek against his chest before slowly raising her head, her eyes and face flushed, "I..."

"No need to say anything." Chen Mu touched the corner of her eye with his thumb. "I understand."

Lin Su's face turned even redder, and she hugged him tighter.

Chen Mu hugged her tightly, and the two of them, one sitting and one standing, embraced for a long time in this small rented room. Outside it was freezing cold, but inside it was warm and cozy.

After a long while, Chen Mu released his grip and lowered his head to ask, "Who was that man just now?"
