Because she was delayed by eating, it was already completely dark when Lin Su returned to her rented room, but fortunately it wasn't nine o'clock yet.

She fumbled in her bag and pulled out a key. Just as she was about to insert it into the keyhole, someone inside opened the door.

Chen Mu opened the door from the inside, and Lin Su said with some surprise, "You're back."

"Mm," Chen Mu responded, stepping aside to let her in and closing the door behind him.

The clothes Lin Su bought for him that morning were still on the ground. She squatted down and took a blue sweater out of the shopping bag. "I bought you clothes, did you see them?"

"No." When Chen Mu came home from get off work, he only saw a few shopping bags on the ground, but she was not there.

"Try it on," Lin Su said, picking up the bag and handing it to him. "If it doesn't fit, you can exchange it."

Chen Mu glanced down at it. "I have clothes."

"But I've already bought it." Lin Su looked at him expectantly. "Don't you like it?"

Chen Mu took the bag and went to the bathroom. After a while, he came out wearing a sweater. The sweater was a one-size-fits-all, but it seemed a little big on him.

In front of Lin Su, he put on that long black down jacket again, zipping it all the way up to cover a section of his pale chin. He lowered his eyes, squatted down, and put on his new shoes as well.

After she had put on all the clothes he bought, he looked at Lin Su and said, "Thank you, I like them very much."

Lin Su blinked, suddenly feeling a little embarrassed to look at him. She pretended to be thirsty and casually opened the refrigerator next to her.

There were some leftover dishes and two apples in the refrigerator, but Lin Su spotted the strawberry cake inside at a glance.

A small, palm-sized cake, entirely pink and topped with a few red strawberries. Lin Su tilted her head. "Did you buy this for me?"

"Hmm, have you eaten?" Chen Mu took off his down jacket and new shoes, rolled up his sleeves, and prepared to cook dinner.

"I've already eaten." Lin Su thought about the hot pot they had just eaten, pursed her lips, and said that she had rejected him so many times, hoping that he would not come looking for her again.

"I'll go cook. If you can't finish the cake, you can eat it tomorrow." Chen Mu went to the balcony, intending to make himself a simple bowl of noodles.

Making noodles is simple and takes only ten minutes. By the time he brought the noodles out, Lin Su had already tidied the table. She was sitting on the bed with a strawberry cake in front of her.

Chen Mu sat on the stool opposite her, eating noodles with his head down. Lin Su scooped up small cakes with a spoon, but she was a little reluctant to eat because she was too full from the hot pot.

"You ate hot pot?" Chen Mu looked up and suddenly asked.

After eating hot pot, you're bound to smell like food, so Lin Su nodded.

Are you alone?

Most people wouldn't eat hot pot alone, let alone someone like Lin Su. However, she didn't want to say who she was eating with, so she hesitated for a moment before nodding.

Fortunately, Chen Mu didn't ask any more questions.

After he finished his noodles, Lin Su had only eaten less than a third of her small cake. He stood up and said, "Don't eat if you can't finish it."

Lin Su put down her spoon and stuffed the cake back into the refrigerator. Chen Mu was still washing dishes on the balcony. She leaned over and said, "I'm going to take a shower first."

"Go ahead." Chen Mu glanced back.

Lin Su was going to take a shower today. The bathroom wasn't very big and it only had a water heater. She was worried about running out of hot water, so she didn't dare to shower for too long.

After showering and drying herself off, she quickly put on her pajamas, wrapped her hair in a towel, and came out of the bathroom, her cheeks flushed from the hot water.

"The hairdryer is on the bed." Chen Mu had already taken out the hairdryer beforehand, and he was sitting at his desk busy with the work he hadn't finished.

Lin Su sat on the other side of the bed with a hairdryer in her hand. The buzzing sound of the hairdryer echoed in the room and became quite irritating after a while.

Chen Mu was probably disturbed by the noise. He stopped working and turned to look at her. Lin Su met his gaze, turned off the hair dryer, and tilted her head.

"Do you need any help?" Chen Mu asked.

Lin Su felt bad troubling him, so she shook her head. "Did I disturb you?"

"No." Chen Mu got up, grabbed his pajamas, and went to the bathroom. "You can continue blowing."

When he came out of the shower, Lin Su had just finished drying her hair. Long hair is a bit of a hassle, and she was combing it with Chen Mu's wooden comb.

She recognized the comb; she remembered it was a gift from her. It only cost a few dollars, but it was incredibly durable, otherwise it wouldn't have lasted so many years.

Chen Mu had also washed his hair, and the hairdryer was still plugged in. Lin Su quickly made room for him and stood to the side.

His hair was thin and easy to blow-dry. Before Lin Su could even comb it, he had already finished. He unplugged the hairdryer and put it in the cabinet next to him, then went back to the bathroom and took out his dirty clothes.

"Do you need your clothes washed?" he asked.

"I need to wash them." Lin Su had already secretly hand-washed her own underwear, but the sweaters and the like were too thick and could only be put in the washing machine.

The washing machine was also on the balcony. Chen Mu took their clothes to the balcony, poured out the laundry detergent, looked up at it, and then looked down again.

After finishing putting together the clothes and everything else, it was already eleven o'clock.

Chen Mu entered the house from the balcony. Lin Su was already in bed, but she wasn't asleep yet, holding her phone and looking at something.

She wasn't usually that fond of playing on her phone.

Chen Mu got into bed from the other side, tilting his head to ask, "Should we turn off the light?"

"Turn it off." Lin Su put her phone away. Actually, she didn't want to sleep, because she would have to go to work again when she woke up.

Before, he would wake up and go to class; now he goes to work. He's always very busy.

Chen Mu turned off the light. He lay down but wasn't sleepy. After a while, noticing that the person next to him wasn't asleep either, he asked softly, "Want to chat for a bit?"

"Let's chat." Lin Su immediately turned to the side, tucking her arm to her ear, and asked curiously, "How's your year been?"

Chen Mu didn't turn to the side; he looked at the ceiling above him and said, "It's still the same as before."

What was he like before? He was either teaching classes or tutoring to earn a living.

"And you?" Chen Mu asked in return.

"I..." Lin Su looked at his profile in the darkness and said with a hint of surprise, "I'm going to school."

"Hmm?" Chen Mu turned his head, and after his eyes adjusted to the darkness, they could both see each other's eyes clearly.

"I'm currently studying at Peking University, and I've already completed one semester. I'm currently on winter break," Lin Su couldn't help but share.

Chen Mu knew without even thinking that it was that man's arrangement. In fact, he could tell that Lin Su was doing well now, as the clothes she wore and the phone she used were all designer brands.

Even the clothes she bought for him today were designer brands.

If that man hadn't suffered amnesia, they would still be together happily.

She can still go to university, and it's a top-tier university, so letting that man take her away was the right decision.
