As soon as Shao Huaizhi followed He Zaizhou into the house, he heard lively sounds inside, with a group of people gathered around praising someone.

Lin Su stood in the middle, holding the small cakes she had baked. She blushed a little shyly, her clear eyes bright and slightly downturned, giving her a very lively appearance.

A group of aunties surrounded her, tasting the cupcakes she had baked, showering her with praise—they were practically overflowing with compliments.

After all, who wouldn't like a clean-cut and well-behaved girl?

Lin Su was a very easy person to get along with, and it was clear that she was doing well here; her slightly downturned eyes showed no sign of strain.

Shao Huaizhi paused for a moment. He Zaizhou had already walked up to him and asked, "Is there any more? Let me try some too."

When the aunties saw him return, they greeted him and dispersed, revealing Lin Su's figure. She was carrying a tray with a few uneaten cupcakes.

Her eyelashes fluttered, and she looked up to see him, as well as Shao Huaizhi behind him.

"Which one do you want?" Lin Su pushed the tray forward a bit, and He Zaizhou glanced down at it and picked up a small cake with strawberries on it.

"Let Huaizhi have a taste too." After taking it in his hand, he tilted his head back and smiled.

Lin Su glanced at Shao Huaizhi, who hadn't approached yet. She walked over to him, a warm smile playing on her lips, and asked, "Which one do you want to eat?"

The same words, but different interjections—any discerning person could hear the difference.

The coldness in Shao Huaizhi's eyes faded, and he smiled slightly. "Did you make all of these yourself? Which one do you think tastes best?"

"Strawberry, just delivered today, it's super fresh." Lin Su pointed to the strawberry cake, but Shao Huaizhi picked up the mango flavor instead. He took a spoonful, smiled, and nodded, "Delicious."

"I also made some cookies, would you like some?" Lin Su pointed to the kitchen. "They're in the kitchen, I'll go get them for you."

"Let's not eat today." Shao Huaizhi quickly reached out and grabbed her wrist. He looked down and asked, "You've been a guest for so long, aren't you planning to go home today?"

Although Lin Su was quite comfortable here, it was never her home. She thought about going home, but He Zaizhou wasn't coming back, and she didn't want to contact him, so she stayed a few more days.

Moreover, living here does give her more time to think about the future.

Shao Huaizhi was indeed very good to her, but he was Zong Yan's friend.

"Yes, we will take it back." Lin Su nodded.

"I'll take you home." Shao Huaizhi took the tray from her and put it aside. His hand remained loosely around her wrist, as if afraid she would run away.

Lin Su didn't struggle. She even moved closer to Shao Huaizhi, smelling the fresh scent on the man beside her, before raising her head to look at the man on the other side.

He Zaizhou held the cupcake in one hand, not eating it at all, but gently rotating it in his palm, looking at them with a half-smile.

"Are you leaving?" he asked.

"I'll take her home." Shao Huaizhi noticed that Lin Su was wearing a light blue set of loungewear. He said, "Where's your room? Change your clothes and tidy up."

Lin Su pointed upstairs and said softly, "I'm going upstairs to change my clothes. Wait for me."

Shao Huaizhi nodded. Lin Su took a longer route and avoided He Zaizhou. She ran up the stairs on the other side.

Everyone could see who Lin Su was afraid of. Shao Huaizhi's eyes darkened, and he couldn't help but ask, "What did you do to her?"

He Zaizhou curled his lips into a smile. "What can a man and a woman do?"

Shao Huaizhi's voice turned cold. "You forced her?"

He Zaizhou continued to smile, "Yes."

Shao Huaizhi couldn't help but clench his fists. He looked at He Zaizhou's refined yet despicable face. He knew that there were no truly good people in their social class, but being so low-class was also contemptible.

"You're a real disappointment."

He Zaizhou raised an eyebrow and suddenly laughed, "Just kidding, how could I do something that would disappoint you?"

Shao Huaizhi: "Then why is she afraid of you?"

"I don't know, you can ask her." He Zaizhou tilted his head slightly. Lin Su had already come down with her things, wearing the same white down jacket she had worn when she arrived.

She sensed something unusual about the atmosphere between the two as soon as she came downstairs. She clutched the bag in her hand and ran toward Shao Huaizhi.

Shao Huaizhi took her hand and said to He Zaizhou, "I'll come see you again tomorrow."

"Okay." He Zaizhou replied without much reaction, watching him take the person away.

Shao Huaizhi opened the passenger door, and Lin Su bent down to sit inside. Just as she was about to fasten her seatbelt, he leaned over, pulled the belt over, and fastened it for her with a click.

"If you didn't want to stay here, why didn't you tell me before?" Shao Huaizhi asked.

She only selectively replied to a few of the messages he sent her.

"I..." because Lin Su hadn't figured out what to do yet.

She also needed time to process this, but Shao Huaizhi didn't give her that time at all. Lin Su couldn't possibly refuse him every single day.

"Let's talk about it when we get back." Shao Huaizhi walked around the front of the car and got in. He started the car and drove her away from the huge villa.

"Where do you want to go back to?" Shao Huaizhi didn't really want her to go back to He Zongyan's home.

"Shuijun Bay".

When the car arrived at Shuijun Bay, Shao Huaizhi carried Lin Su's things and walked ahead. He pressed the elevator button, went inside, and looked at the woman who was walking rather slowly.

"You don't want me to go upstairs?" Shao Huaizhi said calmly. "I have something to tell you."

Lin Su stood next to him, staring at the constantly changing floor number. The elevator was fast, and soon they arrived at the floor they needed to go to.

Upon entering the house, the familiar surroundings immediately put Lin Su at ease.

Shao Huaizhi placed the things on the table and said like a host, "Come and sit down."

Lin Su pursed her lips; she really disliked Shao Huaizhi always asking her all sorts of questions.

"Lin Su, don't hide it from me, tell me the truth." Shao Huaizhi looked at her, his voice low, "Did He Zaizhou force you?"

Lin Su's eyelashes trembled. To say that there was coercion was true, it wasn't that serious.

"Really?" Shao Huaizhi's palm covered her hands, feeling a slight warmth. "You can trust me."

"No." Lin Su pulled her hand away and shook her head.

Shao Huaizhi's eyes darkened. "Then why are you afraid of him?"

"He...has a very strong presence, I'm a little scared."

"If you're afraid of him, why are you still living in his house?"

"He's helping me," Lin Su said softly. "Sheng Qiming always comes to see me."

Shao Huaizhi's heart sank. She was talking about Sheng Qiming, but wasn't she also talking about him?

She felt he was pressuring her, which was itself a form of coercion.

Shao Huaizhi took a deep breath, realizing he had somewhat lost his mind.

He shouldn't be like this, but he wants her, and he also wants to know what it feels like to be with her.

Will he love her as unconditionally as Zong Yan?
