After some of the ambiguous mysteries were resolved, Wen Xi felt more relaxed than ever before.

She understands trading.

They treated him like a servant.

"Stop the car," Wen Xi said as they approached the shopping mall.

This time, she came to Beijing from Haicheng in a hurry and didn't bring all her luggage.

Moreover, she is about to start school and needs to prepare some daily necessities, such as sanitary napkins and underwear.

"Wait a minute, I'm going to buy something, I'll be right there." After parking the car, Wen Xi headed straight for the second floor.

He Tingchu got out of the car without saying a word and followed.

She nimbly darted into the supermarket, her gaze lingering on the shelves, before casually stuffing a few packs of sanitary napkins into her shopping cart.

Just as she was about to turn around, a pair of slender fingers with distinct knuckles neatly placed the items she had chosen back.

"This brand has been featured on 315 (China's consumer rights day), so you can't use it. You need to use this one." A deep, magnetic voice boomed from above.

It was someone.

The man stroked his chin as if deep in thought, then put in several packs of sanitary napkins from another brand, including day and night pads, and even overnight panties.

Is he some kind of "friend of women"?

Older men really are experienced in certain areas.

Wen Xi's cold gaze swept across the man's profile, a hint of icy glint in it.

"Don't follow me." Wen Xi warned with a fierce look in his eyes, pushing the shopper toward the women's lingerie section.

She randomly picked out a few sets of underwear and stuffed them into her shopping cart. In her haste, she didn't even bother to check the sizes carefully.

He Tingchu, disobediently, pressed closer again, glancing down at the few items, his brow furrowed, his tone as flat as a cold machine.

"This isn't your size, and the fabric isn't soft or comfortable enough." He then hung the bra back up on his own.

Wen Xi's face immediately stiffened.

"Don't I know my own size? It's none of your business..." She put it back in.

The man's hawk-like eyes were fixed on the two soft mounds of her chest, as if he were studying some kind of nuclear fusion.

"My eyes are my ruler."

The two were locked in a stalemate, exchanging silent glances, a battle about to erupt.

A pretty sales assistant came in.

"Why don't you go in and try it on? All our underwear is designed to be tried on."

Forced into a corner, Wen Xi reluctantly entered the fitting room. A few minutes later, she came out with a dark expression and obediently put the few items that He Tingchu had casually picked out into the shopping cart.

"Check, please." Wen Xi handed the items to the cashier.

"Could you please show me your payment code? That'll be 5,800 in total," the cashier said.

Wen Xi touched his body. Where was his phone?

Oh no, my phone is still in the car.

"Scan me." He Tingchu unlocked his phone, scanned the code, and paid.

He Tingchu followed the slender figure who was walking quickly out, carrying shopping bags. Why was she running so fast, and why was her face getting worse and worse?

The man was puzzled.

He Tingchu caught up quickly, taking three steps at a time. Inside the car, Wen Xi was looking for her phone again.

"5800? I'll transfer it to you."

"Consider it a gift from me." He Tingchu's eyes were deep and dark.

Who wants him to deliver sanitary napkins and underwear!

"Who asked you to send it? Who cares!" Wen Xi snatched the phone from his hand, unlocked it with facial recognition, and then automatically clicked "accept" for him.

I finally felt better after smashing my phone on the center console.

Wen Xi thought back to what he had said in the supermarket earlier, something about this brand being featured on 315 (a consumer rights website).

What? My eyes are rulers.

He looks like an old man.

"So greasy!" Thinking of this, Wen Xi felt goosebumps all over her body. She rubbed her throbbing temples and spoke hesitantly.

"He Tingchu...have you had many girlfriends? Now that we're husband and wife, I think it's better to clarify some things beforehand. I don't want to be confronted by your girlfriends one day without knowing anything...You don't have a girlfriend now, right?...Have you broken up with them all?"

Her words were rapid-fire and indiscriminate, like a machine gun firing indiscriminately...

He Tingchu was in a bad mood.

"I've never dated anyone... I've never had an ex. You're my first and last one," He Tingchu blurted out.

"You're almost thirty, tell me, I was your first boyfriend..." Wen Xi readily agreed and launched into a long speech, then suddenly remembered the rumors he had heard before.

How could the two Peking University students be so naive?

He said he doesn't do anything like amputation, but he didn't say he's not in a relationship, did he?

"I reiterate, I really haven't dated anyone... I have no exes, and no one will bother you." The man next to him raised his hand, his eyes as clear as a kindergarten child's.

Uh…

That is fine.

Wen Xi turned her face away, trying not to laugh out loud. After suppressing her laughter, her stomach started to hurt.

-

Just before 2 PM, the gates of Peking University were in sight, and the reception pavilion for the medical school was right in front of him. Wen Xi felt as if he had seen a savior.

She jumped out of the car, feet together, and expertly opened the trunk. Holding her suitcase, she stood beside the car. Two tall, imposing men, unable to look away from a pretty girl, simultaneously approached her.

"Excuse me, are you registering? Which college are you from? What's your name?"

"Medical School - Wen Xi"

"Hello, junior. I'm Zhang Feng, a second-year graduate student, and this is Lin Tao." The boy in the white shirt looked neat and tidy.

"Hello, senior. Please take care of me in the future." Wen Xi smiled sweetly.

"Junior, let me help you with your luggage." Zhang Feng solicitously pulled her suitcase.

There was a high flight of steps ahead. Zhang Feng tried to lift his suitcase, but he couldn't manage it on his first try.

"Junior, what are you pretending for? The thing is quite heavy." Zhang Feng tried to hide his embarrassment.

Then, a strong arm appeared from behind, with slightly bulging veins on the back of the pale hand. It snatched the suitcase from Zhang Feng's hand and carried it up the steps without any effort.

"Junior, who is this?"

"Oh, my family member," Wen Xi said casually, quickly catching up.

He Tingchu carried her luggage up the steps and headed towards the girls' dormitory on the other side.

"Junior, we're reporting for duty at the medical school here," Zhang Feng called out.

"He Tingchu, what are you doing..." She hasn't even reported for duty yet, where is he going?

"Take Mrs. He through the VIP channel," He Tingchu said in a low voice.

Without much effort, Wen Xi's enrollment procedures were completed, and she even waited for Feng without showing her face.

The two arrived at the girls' dormitory building, where several girls were arguing with the dormitory supervisor.

"I don't live in mixed dormitories. Mixed dormitories are four-person rooms, and they're so messy."

I'm not staying there either.

"There aren't enough dorm rooms this year, so there are no double rooms available. We only have four-person rooms for mixed living. If you don't want to stay there, you'll have to rent a place." The auntie wasn't going to spoil her.

Dormitory rooms at Peking University are limited, so if you don't live there, you'll have to rent a place. But apartments in Beijing are notoriously expensive. With the Kant crisis still ongoing, she wouldn't waste money; she'd better save where she can.

Every penny she spent was Kant's life-saving money.

"Auntie, I'm from the medical school, I can live in the mixed-use dormitory," Wen Xi said decisively.

"Hmm, this student is very sensible. Here, take the key to room 401."

"Student, have you thought this through? Graduate students are supposed to have two-person rooms, while undergraduates only have four-person rooms," a girl kindly advised.

"I'll be starting my residency training soon, so it's fine. Thanks for reminding me anyway."

If nothing unexpected happens, Wen Xi will begin her residency training in six months, and she will most likely live in the hospital dormitory.

He Tingchu stood less than a meter away from her, his brows furrowed. His wife was determined to suffer even when she didn't want to.

"Give it to me." Wen Xi tugged at the handle of the suitcase.

He Tingchu didn't let go, pulling the box from behind him.

"What?" Wen Xi asked angrily.

"Auntie, I'll take her upstairs."

The dormitory supervisor moved the large sign at the entrance that read "Girls' Dormitory, No Boys Allowed," her eyes conveying a sense of intimidation.

Wen Xi was mortified and went to pull her suitcase again, while He Tingchu turned and left with her luggage…
