Delta: I have a 1-Haf Coin instant kill system!
Chapter 91 Claire: I think I've come at a really bad time?
Just then, the door creaked open.
Claire excitedly poked half her body in.
Before he could even speak, his gaze swept over the room, and his smile instantly froze on his face.
What did she see?
Her dear Lan-jie!
Anaïs de Moulin!
Space Base Safety Director!
That woman whom even the top brass of Hafk treat with respect!
He was naked, wrapped in a blanket, while Zhang Zhao lay on the bed, his ear tips so red they were practically bleeding!
The air seemed to freeze!
Claire's hand was still on the doorknob, and she opened her mouth slightly.
"Uh... I think I've arrived... at a really bad time?"
Her voice carried a hint of probing.
The bedroom was deathly silent.
Demulan's face turned from white to red, then from red to green, and he gripped the North Star's hand even tighter.
Zhang Zhao remained stiff in that position, feeling his back soaked in cold sweat.
His brain raced as he tried to find a plausible explanation.
Claire coughed, took a half step back, and reached out to grasp the doorknob.
"You guys continue... I didn't see anything."
She closed the door with lightning speed.
But the door wasn't locked, and she left a message through the crack: "Do you need me to watch the door for you?"
"Get out—" Demulan finally managed to squeeze out through clenched teeth.
Claire swiftly withdrew her hand, and the door slammed shut.
But she didn't leave.
She pressed herself against the door, holding her breath, ready to listen for any sound.
The atmosphere in the bedroom had reached freezing point.
Demulan slowly turned his head, his gaze shifting from astonishment to judgment.
Zhang Zhao felt an unprecedented killing intent enveloping him.
"...I can explain."
He had barely opened his mouth when Demulan turned around and kicked him.
The foot landed precisely on his chest, the force so great that he fell backward, his back slamming back onto the bed.
Demoulins did not give him a chance to explain.
With a flick of her right hand, the blanket was ripped off her body, spread out in the air, and precisely covered Zhang Zhao.
Zhang Zhao's vision went black, and his nose was filled with the fresh scent of shower gel.
There was a rustling sound outside the blanket; Demoulins was putting on his bathrobe.
Zhang Zhao lay quietly in the quilt, not daring to move at all.
He was now absolutely certain that if he showed his face even once more, the North Star wouldn't just be hovering over his forehead, but would be stabbed right down.
About ten seconds later, the blanket was suddenly pulled off.
Zhang Zhao blinked; Demulan was already dressed in his bathrobe.
She crossed her arms and looked down at him.
"Tell me! Why are you in my bedroom?"
Zhang Zhao felt a tightness in his chest from her kick, but he dared not cry out in pain at the moment.
He propped himself up on the edge of the bed, and the blanket slipped off his shoulders.
He opened his mouth, about to speak, but Demulan raised his hand to interrupt him.
She turned and walked to the door, pulled it open, and dragged Claire into the bedroom.
Claire opened her mouth as if to say something, but Desmoulins interrupted her abruptly, "Shut up!"
Claire immediately shut her mouth and stood obediently by the wall.
But her eyes kept darting back and forth between Zhang Zhao and Demulan, and she couldn't suppress the urge to smile.
Demulan turned to look at Zhang Zhao, his arms still crossed over his chest.
"You! Explain!"
Zhang Zhao took a deep breath and quickly calculated in his mind.
With a thought, black mist silently surged from the soles of his feet, climbing up his body.
In less than two seconds, a dark hood, a tattered cloak, and tactical gloves that fit his palms appeared one by one, enveloping his entire body.
"This is the special equipment that GTI just assigned to me," Zhang Zhao said.
"It can teleport me to places I've been before."
Demoulins's gaze fell on him.
"The GTI was assigned to you?" Her skepticism was undisguised. "When did the GTI have this kind of technology?"
"I don't know the specific source either," Zhang Zhao said without changing his expression.
"DeepBlue said this was allocated from headquarters and asked me to try it out and see how it works."
"I just got back from Utan City. After resting, I thought I'd come and see how you all are doing..."
He shrugged, his gaze sincere yet helpless.
"I thought this place was still empty; I didn't know anyone lived here."
Upon hearing this, Claire's pent-up energy instantly dissipated by more than half.
She leaned back against the wall.
I thought there was some juicy gossip going on, but it turns out it was just like this!
"You're quite lucky," Claire remarked.
"You just happened to run into Sister Lan after she finished showering! Your luck is unbelievable."
Demulan stood by the bed and finally let out a soft breath, his anger dissipating considerably.
"The core area was bombed beyond recognition, so I live here now."
"Next time... give me a heads-up before you come."
"Got it!"
The room was silent for two seconds.
Zhang Zhao then got off the bed, stood to the side, and casually folded the quilt and placed it at the foot of the bed.
"You came to the space base just to take a look?"
Demoulins' tone had returned to calm.
Zhang Zhao glanced at Claire before speaking.
"There's one more thing. I wanted to ask if you have any connections to get your hands on a certain... medicine."
Demulan raised an eyebrow slightly. "What medicine?"
"It's to treat a hereditary blood disorder," Zhang Zhao said.
"A friend of mine has been diagnosed with the disease in its middle stage, but Hafk has applied for a patent, so it's not available on the market now."
Upon hearing this, Claire frowned and replied,
"The drug that Hafk monopolizes? That's not easy to get!"
"The top management holds onto patents more tightly than their own lives. Not to mention buying them, there are very few people who even know the formula."
Demulan did not answer immediately. She turned and walked to the table, picked up the stack of documents, flipped through a couple of pages, and then looked up at Zhang Zhao.
"Are you talking about... that drug called 'White Butterfly'?"
Zhang Zhao's pupils contracted slightly. "You know?"
Demulan didn't answer directly, but instead picked up his phone, tapped a few times, and then turned to look at him.
"I do have access to some things inside Hafk's business."
"What are the conditions?"
Demurean stared at Zhang Zhao. "You're one of ours. What conditions can we offer you?"
