Delta: I have a 1-Haf Coin instant kill system!
Chapter 81 Lina's Past, Request to Join the War!
Lina stood at the door of the examination room, silent for a moment, during which she thought about many things.
She was a medical expert specializing in clinical medicine and drug research.
Even though her mother suffered from that rare hereditary blood disease, she and her team successfully developed a prototype drug.
When the clinical trials went smoothly, the Hafk Group reached out its greedy hand.
They invested in and acquired controlling stakes in the project, monopolizing it and fully commercializing the life-saving drug.
They even used patent protection as an excuse to refuse to use the drug on Lina's mother.
The indifference of capital extinguished her last hope, and Lina could only watch helplessly as her mother passed away.
And that's not all!
On the day her mother passed away, she was also diagnosed with her own illness... the same hereditary blood disease.
Despair completely overwhelmed her at that moment!
Her father told her to go out for a walk and get some fresh air.
Therefore, she joined an international medical organization like her father and came to Asara.
But no matter how far you go, the root cause of the illness in your body will never disappear.
Her life is already on a countdown.
I had originally planned to spend my last days quietly in this border town.
She had thought that the rest of the days would be so uneventful as to be unremarkable.
But Hafk won't let her go.
She could tell that the militants hadn't just come to ask her for medical treatment.
Anyone who has mastered that level of drug development technology will be targeted no matter where they flee.
Standing at the door of the clinic, she looked up and her gaze swept over the faces of Zhang Zhao, Gu, Haizhao, and Luna before finally making her decision.
"Are the four of you enough?" Lina asked, her voice much steadyer than before.
"Do you have any spare firearms...? I can use them."
There was a moment of silence in the consultation room.
Gu sized her up. "You know how to use a gun?"
"I've received safety training from international medical organizations. I know how to use rifles, pistols, and in close combat!" Lina said, glancing down at her hands.
"Furthermore, you need someone who knows the terrain well. I can navigate the alleys of Utan City with my eyes closed."
Luna's gaze lingered on her for a moment before turning to Gu.
Gu didn't rush to answer, but instead turned her head to look at Zhang Zhao. "What do you think?"
Zhang Zhao leaned against the window, and the Relink brain-computer interface had already silently scanned Lina's attributes.
[Target: Lena van der Meier (Seriously Injured)]
【Height: 167cm】
【Weight: 57Kg】
【Strength: 5.1 (10.2)】
[Agility: 5.2 (10.4)]
Endurance: 4.9 (9.8)
【Spirit: 10.2】
Zhang Zhao didn't rush to answer; his gaze lingered on Lina's attribute panel for a couple more seconds.
Under normal circumstances, all attributes exceed 10, and the mental attribute even reaches 10.2, which is almost the same as Red Wolf and his group.
But now...
"Seriously injured?" He then thought of Lina's illness in his past life's backstory.
A hereditary blood disorder that erodes the central nervous system, causing severe epilepsy, eventually leading to coma, brain damage, and even death.
"Give her a gun," Zhang Zhao said calmly.
"She's more useful than we thought."
Gu glanced at him, didn't ask any questions, and simply took out a G18 automatic pistol from his tactical bag and handed it over along with several magazines.
Lina took the gun, deftly pulled the slide to check the chamber, and then tucked it to her waist.
Thanks.
"You're welcome." Gu withdrew her hand and turned to look out the window.
"Get ready to move. That group of people ran away, but they'll likely come back, and..."
She paused for a moment, then said, "Hamke's men are still searching the city."
"Where are we going?" Luna asked.
Gu brought up a map of Wutan City's streets and alleys on the tablet, and tapped the northeast corner of the screen with his finger.
"There's a small medical supplies warehouse here, belonging to an international organization. Hamk's people shouldn't have gone there yet."
"We'll first move the hospital staff to a safe place, and then clear out the stragglers in the city."
"Understood." Three voices rang out simultaneously.
Lina stood at the door of the clinic, glanced down at the G18 on her side, and then slowly took out a bottle of medicine from her pocket.
The bottle had no labels; they looked like they had been deliberately worn away.
She unscrewed the bottle cap, poured out two white pills, tilted her head back and swallowed them. Her Adam's apple bobbed, and she put the bottle back in her pocket.
"Let's go, there's a good vantage point over there! I'll lead the way!"
She raised her head, her tone flat.
Gu glanced at her, but didn't ask any questions. He simply tilted his head and raised his chin towards the stairwell.
The five people filed downstairs, with Lina leading the way. Her pace was much faster than before, indicating that the two pills were taking effect.
She paused briefly at the side door of the hospital, listened to the sounds outside, then pushed open the door and slipped out.
Zhang Zhao followed behind her, and the Relink brain-computer interface silently deployed, its perception range covering an area of nearly 100 meters around the hospital.
The streets were deserted, with only the occasional sporadic gunshots heard in the distance.
The streets of Utan are narrower and the walls are higher than those of Zadeh; in some places, you can only see a sliver of night sky when you look up.
Lina's familiarity with the terrain was indeed as she herself said; she could walk it with her eyes closed.
She barely paused, choosing her direction without hesitation at each fork in the road.
Occasionally, I would stop and listen for a few seconds to make sure there was no movement ahead before continuing.
After passing through a narrow alley that could only accommodate one person at a time, the view ahead suddenly opened up.
They stood behind a low wall, outside which was a relatively open space.
In the very center of the open space stood a gray-white building with a faded red cross painted on its wall.
There were no lights or people around the building; it was eerily quiet.
"We're here." Lina crouched behind the stone wall, her gaze sweeping across the open space. "This is it."
Gu crouched beside her, raised his tactical binoculars, and scanned the area.
"Is no one inside?"
Lina shook her head.
"This warehouse is a backup point for an international medical organization. Not many people know about it, and even the people in Hamk probably don't know."
"But we can't rule out the possibility of patrol teams nearby, after all, it's a special time."
"Let's go inside first." Gu put away his binoculars and tilted his head towards the side door of the building.
The six people crossed the open space and crept along the wall to the side door.
Lina took a key out of her pocket, inserted it into the lock and turned it twice, then pushed open the door and slipped inside.
The warehouse was more spacious inside than it appeared from the outside, with rows of metal shelves neatly arranged and stacked with cardboard boxes and sealed containers.
"The generator is in the corner, and there is diesel fuel, which can maintain basic lighting and refrigeration equipment."
As Lina spoke, she walked towards the electrical distribution box in the corner.
I pulled the switch, and the emergency lights overhead came on.
"There are also a few field operating tables and medical equipment. Although they are not top-of-the-line, they are more than enough to handle common injuries."
Gu scanned the warehouse interior, nodded, and asked, "Is there enough room for the people from the hospital?"
"That's enough." Lina walked to the shelf, opened a sealed box, and checked its contents.
"This place was originally intended as a backup medical transfer point, and it has enough space and supplies to handle a medium-sized number of injured patients."
"The only problem is that the ventilation system needs to be readjusted, but it won't have any impact in the short term."
Zhang Zhao's gaze fell on the tightly closed iron door deep inside the warehouse. "What's behind that door?"
Lina followed his gaze and remained silent for a moment.
"Behind that door is a passageway leading to a high point on the north side of Utan City. It used to be a watchtower, but it was later abandoned. From there, you can see most of Utan City."
Zhang Zhao raised an eyebrow slightly. "How did you know that?"
Lina glanced at him sideways, her tone flat, "I've been here for almost two years."
