"Old Shang, I know you're in a difficult position right now, but this matter is very complicated. If it's stopped at the last minute, the money lost and the responsibilities we'll have to bear will be too much for anyone to handle. It's really a difficult situation."

There were rustling sounds coming from inside the room. Lin Zhao woke up. Shang Yu closed his eyes, his heart heavy and bitter, filled with helplessness.

He personally approved the project and was very clear about its rules and regulations, but he never expected that this orphanage would be included in the project.

If only I had been more careful back then...

Thinking about these things now is useless; the most urgent task is to find a solution.

"I'm not asking you to stop work immediately."

He took a deep breath and spoke the solution he had just come up with.

"You need to find a way to fine-tune the outer perimeter planning boundary, even if it means reducing the commercial building area and sacrificing some profits, but you must isolate the orphanage and preserve it as it is. No need to announce it publicly, just make the adjustment quietly, and I'll cover all the costs and accountability."

Shen Youqing was stunned for a moment.

"You're going to pay for the losses out of your own pocket? And then face the board's accountability?"

Shen Youqing thought he had gone mad.

"Dude, is it really necessary? It's just an orphanage. If it's not good enough, just build him another one."

"This is different, and it's not just for him. Perhaps you should come and see for yourself; the children here are adorable."

Shang Yu touched his pocket full of candy. These children liked him very much. If he tore down their house, they wouldn't have so much candy next time they came.

"Shen Youqing, help me."

Shen Youqing on the other end of the phone was silent for a moment, then swore.

"Fine, I'll risk my life to play along. From now on, I'll add 10% to all of Shang's projects!"

Shang Yu gave a faint smile.

"OK."

Shen Youqing sighed, finally unable to refuse his longtime friend, and gritted his teeth and agreed.

"I'll do my best to get it done for you, but let me make it clear beforehand: revising the drawings and going through the procedures will take at least half a month, and I can't guarantee everything will go perfectly; there's a possibility..."

Shang Yu responded softly, "I know," and slowly hung up the phone.

Lin Zhao inside seemed to still be crying, and Dean Chen was trying to comfort him. Shang Yu pushed open the door and went in.

"Dean Chen, may I speak with him alone for a few minutes?"

Dean Chen looked at Lin Zhao, then at Shang Yu, nodded, and walked out with his cane. He paused at the door and looked back.

Then Shang Yu sat down beside Lin Zhao's bed, the pity in his eyes hardly befitting a boss towards a subordinate...

The door was quietly closed, and only Lin Zhao's sobs could be heard in the room. Shang Yu didn't know what to say for a moment.

All he could do was take a clean towel from the side and wipe away Lin Zhao's silent tears.

"Lin Zhao..."

He opened his mouth, but before he could finish speaking, his arm was grabbed. The boy stared at him with swollen, tear-filled eyes, his voice hoarse.

"Sir, the project you mentioned before...the one you mentioned earlier, was it about demolishing...demolishing the orphanage?"

He spoke in a broken and unclear manner, but Shang Yu still understood him.

For the first time, he felt guilty and lowered his head in shame.

Seeing that he remained silent, Lin Zhao assumed that he had tacitly agreed. He subconsciously tightened his grip on Shang Yu's hand, then suddenly sat up from the bed and was about to kneel down in front of Shang Yu.

Shang Yu was startled and quickly pulled him up.

"Are you crazy! Why are you kneeling?"

Lin Zhao was startled by the shout and spoke in a trembling voice.

"Sir, please, please don't demolish the orphanage! This is the only home left for these children. If you demolish it, they'll have nothing left. Please!"

He was trembling with sobs, gasping for breath several times a day.

Shang Yu's heart clenched. He wanted to say, "Okay, I won't tear it apart."

But things are not completely settled yet. What if something unexpected happens? Wouldn't that cause Lin Zhao to collapse again?

After much deliberation, he spoke in a deep voice.

"Lin Zhao, do you believe me?"

Lin Zhao stared at him blankly, then nodded.

"I believe you are the very best person."

Shang Yu reached out his fingertip and wiped away his tears, his tone reassuring and reassuring.

Give me some time, I'll figure something out.

These words didn't actually make any promises. If it were anyone else, they would have thought that Shang Yu was just being perfunctory. But Lin Zhao stopped crying immediately after hearing these words, and her heart gradually calmed down.

The man said to give him time, and he would find a way. He believed in the man, who was a very, very good person.

He saw it; he saw the gentleman sitting in the small canteen talking to the children, and he saw a child whose hands were dirty accidentally brushing against the gentleman's hands.

But he didn't say anything. Mr. Ming was a very germaphobic person, but he was willing to sit here and play with those children.

A person like that would never lie.

Shang Yu stayed with Lin Zhao for an entire afternoon, and the two of them tacitly kept quiet.

When Dean Chen came in, Lin Zhao had already composed herself.

Finally, he hugged Dean Chen to reassure her and said he would take good care of himself. Then the two of them went back to the villa together.

In the following days, Shang Yu became very busy, leaving home at seven or eight in the morning and not returning until the early hours of the morning.

That evening, Shang Yu didn't get home until the early hours of the morning. He had been busy these past few days discussing revisions to the drawings with people from the design institute.

It may seem like just removing a small orphanage, but it's actually a huge undertaking for the whole project.

Currently, there are no clues at all. The several conclusions proposed are all easily discovered by the old fogies on the board of directors, and they will be nipped in the bud before they even begin.

Shang Yu pushed open the main hall door, loosened his tie, leaned back on the sofa, and rubbed his temples with his fingertips.

A buzzing sound filled my ears, and a sharp pain shot through my stomach.

I haven't been eating or sleeping well lately, and my stomach problems, which haven't bothered me for a long time, have started causing trouble again.

In just a moment, Shang Yu's face turned pale, he was sweating profusely, and a spasmodic pain in his stomach made him frown.

Lin Zhao, in the small house, was also having a hard time. He had something on his mind and couldn't sleep at night.

He had wanted to ask his husband about the progress of the matter several times, but he couldn't even see him. He also remembered how his husband had avoided him before, and he couldn't help but feel worried.

So all day I kept looking in the direction of the main hall, waiting for my husband to come back, until the lights in the main hall came on at dawn.

Lin Zhao carefully pushed open the door of the small house and hurried over.

As soon as she entered the main hall, she went to the dining room first. Her husband would be back for dinner that evening, and Lin Zhao would clean up the dishes the next day.

But Lin Zhao didn't see anyone in the restaurant today. She looked around and vaguely heard a man groaning from the sofa, which sounded very uncomfortable.

Lin Zhao jogged over and saw the scene before her, her eyes widening in surprise.
