I never imagined that Zhu Chaowei, unable to bully Su Wan, would resort to such despicable tactics.

Seeing the drastic change in my and Su Wan's expressions, Zhu Chaowei's smile became even more ferocious, and he kept waving the wooden stick to keep me away.

"Chen An, since you've already had your fun, why don't you let your uncle have some too? Your cousin's wife is at the age where she needs a man, so how about we do it together?"

What a beast!

"Fuck you!"

Even if it means being drowned in a pig cage, I can't hold back anymore.

Despite taking two blows, I rushed over, grabbed his waist tightly, and threw him to the ground.

Although Zhu Chaowei had been drinking, he used to do manual labor and was much stronger than me. He got angry and we started wrestling on the ground.

If Zhu Chaowei's screams hadn't attracted the villagers, I reckon she would have beaten him to death.

When the village chief arrived with the villagers, Zhu Chaowei's face was covered in blood. As soon as he saw the village chief, he crawled over to him, pointing at me and Su Wan and shouting.

"Murder! I caught Su Wan and Chen An having an affair here, and they're trying to kill me!"

Seeing that this guy was trying to twist the truth and smear us, I went up and kicked him again.

"Look, everyone! I caught Chen An cheating, and he's trying to kill someone right in front of you! Look at my face... it's covered in blood! Call the police and arrest them! I suspect Wang Long was poisoned by these two adulterers!"

Damn it, how dare you talk nonsense.

I was about to make a move when the village chief stopped me.

"That's enough!"

The village chief stared wide-eyed. Although he was less than 1.6 meters tall, he had a very imposing presence. It was said that he had fought in the Vietnam War and killed people.

He glared at me, then looked at Su Wan beside him and scolded her with exasperation.

"Chen An, Chen An, are you even human? Your cousin just died, and you're already rushing off to mess around with this woman, right here in your uncle's old house! I think all your education has gone to waste!"

All eyes turned to Su Wan and me.

"Coming to a place like this in the middle of the night to have an affair, they've really disgraced our village."

"A wild child born of a mother but without a father to teach him. I guess Old Zhang became a vegetable because he knew that his son was having an affair with his cousin's wife. It wasn't because he fell and hit his head while drinking."

These old women in the village are naturally gossipy; they can make even things without evidence sound incredible.

Now they caught Su Wan and me in the old house in the middle of the night, with Zhu Chaowei as a witness. They even pointed at us and cursed us, spitting all over my face.

Su Wan, her eyes red, tried to explain weakly that it wasn't what they thought, but amidst the cacophony of voices, she couldn't get a word in edgewise.

I was scolded as soon as I opened my mouth.

"What's going on? What's going on?"

My mother squeezed through the crowd, and when she saw Su Wan and me being pointed at and scolded by so many people, she immediately became anxious, her face flushed, and pushed away the people surrounding us.

With her hands on her hips, she started yelling at them, "A bunch of old geezers, what are you doing spouting nonsense about my Chen An! Do you think my Chen An is that kind of person? If you keep talking nonsense, I'll scratch you to death!"

Seeing a group of women arguing incessantly, the village chief was at his wit's end. He quickly stepped in between them and asked Zhu Chaowei for advice.

"Zhu Chaowei, what exactly happened?!"

Zhu Chaowei wiped the blood from his face and pointed at me and Su Wan, making tearful accusations.

"Village chief, I came home drunk in the middle of the night and couldn't find my way home. When I passed by here, I heard noises coming from inside, and I saw those two doing *that* kind of thing by the roadside. Then they found out... and you saw what happened. If you hadn't come, I probably would have been killed to keep me quiet!"

My mother turned her head and looked at me with a shocked expression, clearly believing Zhu Chaowei's words to some extent.

After all, there are witnesses and physical evidence. Anyone would have doubts if I stayed up all night and came here to have sex with Su Wan.

I knew it was pointless to explain to these people, so I calmly said to the village chief, "Since you can't explain it clearly, let's call the police and let them investigate."

Upon hearing that the police had been called, Zhu Chaowei's expression changed slightly, but he still said firmly, "What's the use of calling the police? There are no surveillance cameras in the village."

If someone hadn't stopped me, I would have loved to slap him twice.

I sneered and said, "Why didn't you call the police? Didn't you say we killed you to cover it up? I'm the one who caused your injuries. I'll accept going to jail, but I don't know if you, a rapist, will have a good time there! I've heard that people who go to jail for this kind of crime are treated very well!"

Upon hearing these three words, Zhu Chaowei's expression turned even more unpleasant.

The villagers also whispered among themselves, looking surprised.

"You...you're talking nonsense, or I'll sue you for defamation," Zhu Chaowei retorted loudly, his neck stiff.

I couldn't be bothered with him, so I took out my phone to call the police.

The village chief also sensed something was wrong. His face darkened as he glared at Zhu Chaowei and demanded loudly, "What exactly happened? Do we really have to call the police?!"

Zhu Chaowei's face changed drastically, and he lowered his head, stammering for a long time without being able to utter a single word.

Now it's obvious to everyone what's going on.

Suddenly, all the insults directed at Zhu Chaowei were directed at me and Su Wan, making him look like a nobody.

Zhu Chaowei suddenly raised his head and retorted loudly, "Yes, I was just drunk and acting recklessly, but what are Chen An and Su Wan doing hiding here in the middle of the night! If they weren't doing something shady, I'll change my name!"

I explained the reason, but judging from their expressions, they clearly didn't believe me.

However, this was a family scandal. After severely criticizing Zhu Chaowei, the village chief comforted Su Wan for a few words and then left under an excuse.

The crowd dispersed, and Su Wan and I went home with my mother.

Since my stepfather was sleeping in the master bedroom, my mother requisitioned my room and slept in the same room as Su Wan.

I spent the whole night slumped over the table in the living room.

The two of them didn't know what they talked about, but when Su Wan came out the next day, her eyes were swollen from crying.

Before leaving, she wanted to offer incense to her cousin, but her aunt wouldn't allow it, placing a small stool in front of the door and refusing to let her in.

On the way back to Chuncheng, Su Wan kept gazing out the window in a daze.

As the car was about to arrive at the station, she suddenly turned to me and asked, "Chen An, do you also think I'm a slutty woman?"

I quickly shook my head and said, "Sister Wan, don't listen to those people in the village talking nonsense. They're just bored."

Su Wan chuckled self-deprecatingly: "What they said wasn't entirely false. I really had an impulse yesterday."

My heart skipped a beat: "What impulse?"

Su Wan stared straight at me, uttering each word carefully.

"I really wanted to sleep with you yesterday!"
