Evil Immortal!

Chapter 107 The Benefits of the Demon Suppression Division!

Of course, no one could guarantee whether they could find this evil spirit; Meng Yuan was just giving it a try.

Finding it would be best; if not, then we'll think of other ways.

Initially, Meng Yuan's post did not attract much attention.

However, as time went by, some players who spent all day posting on the forum soon noticed it.

Upon seeing the post, many players were initially taken aback, but then began leaving comments, some mocking and others offering sarcastic remarks.

"Hilarious! Eight hundred taels of silver, plus a job change skill book? There's a limit to how much you can brag. At this stage, what player would actually have a job change skill book? If they did, wouldn't they prioritize using it themselves?"

"Exactly! You say you have eight hundred taels of silver and a job change skill book? I could easily call myself the Purple Sun Taoist!"

"The original poster is out of their mind... treating us like idiots."

"Alright, the poster went drinking with me last night and got drunk. He got confused and started talking nonsense. He's lying in my arms right now. Don't mind him, I'll keep an eye on him."

"The original poster is lying. I could say I'm the First Emperor of Qin! If someone sends me two thousand yuan, I can unfreeze the gold I have in the bank and bring my army back to life, making him a great general! You'd be better off believing me than him! (Funny face)"

"They really are a bunch of bastards who won't act until they see the benefits... Luckily, I was prepared."

Meng Yuan smiled when he saw the comments under the post, and then simply posted two pictures and pinned them to the top of the post.

One picture is of a pile of silver, the gleaming white silver particularly dazzling.

The other one was simply a screenshot of a job change skill book.

【Qingxia Qi Cultivation Technique】

Rank: Intermediate Taoist Text (Taoist Text for Job Change)

Type: Mage-type Description: A balanced and peaceful breathing method that can absorb the spiritual essence of heaven and earth, cultivate qi and nourish the spirit, and prolong life. It is a cultivation method that directly leads to the great perfection of innate embryonic breathing.

Speaking of which, Meng Yuan obtained this "Qingxia Qi Refining Manual" from an evil cultivator while doing a mission at the Demon Suppression Division before the open beta began, and it just so happens that it can be used now.

Its quality is mediocre, which is nothing to him, but it is a job change skill book that players at this stage are dreaming of.

The reason for not taking out the job change skill books from the personal shop is because the forum ID "Chunyang Daoren" is the player's identity.

However, Master Ziyang is considered a high-level NPC by all players, so we can't reveal any flaws and let the players connect these two identities.

The two images were quickly noticed by players.

Then, the post immediately began to gain popularity at a visible speed.

"Holy crap, am I seeing things? You really have that much money?!"

"Eight hundred taels of silver! There's already a game market for the 'Evil Immortal' game on the black market, with an exchange rate of one tael to one Federal Coin—one tael can be exchanged for one Federal Coin. That much silver, converted to Federal Coins, is worth at least eight hundred thousand!"

"Really? Someone actually spends that much money to buy in-game currency?"

"Of course it's true! Those game guilds and studios have been secretly accumulating game currency all along. And the black market price is supposedly one copper coin for one dollar, but in reality, even that's barely enough to buy anything. You can get a few dozen or a hundred coins, but you simply can't buy more. There are plenty of pay-to-win players in the real world, but the game [Evil Immortal] is different. No matter how much money you have, you still have to play step by step. There's nowhere to spend money if you want to."

"If you put it that way, if the landlord can sell these eight hundred taels of silver to those big guilds, he can get millions of federal coins."

""

"yes!"

"Damn, that's enough to buy a house in a second-tier city! Seriously, buddy @纯阳道人, we're all doing just fine being poor, how come you got rich first? Wouldn't it be better if we were all poor together?"

"No... Am I the only one paying attention to the 'Azure Cloud Qi Cultivation Manual'? OP @PureYangTaoist, could you tell me where you got this job change skill book from?"

"Are you crazy? Who would tell someone something like this?"

"OP, I'm very interested in the 'Azure Cloud Qi Cultivation Technique.' I'm offering 200,000. If you're still not satisfied with this price, we can discuss it privately!"

"A super-rich player has appeared! We need someone to carry us!"

Soon after Meng Yuan uploaded the picture, the post's popularity began to surge at a visible rate.

Meanwhile, many players began privately messaging Meng Yuan, claiming to be from certain studios or game guilds, and made various demands, expressing great interest in the "Qingxia Qi Refining Technique" and eight hundred taels of silver, and offering to buy it at a high price.

Or they might want to recruit him and offer him all sorts of benefits, such as a guaranteed salary of tens of thousands, five social insurances and one housing fund, free room and board, etc., on the condition that he sells them silver and the "Qingxia Qi Refining Manual".

However, Meng Yuan ignored them all. Seeing that there were too many people messaging him privately, and that very few of them were genuinely willing to help him find the evil spirits, he simply turned off the private messaging function.

Federal City, basic salary, social insurance and housing fund benefits—none of these things mattered to him. All he wanted was traces of the mysterious and evil spirits.

However, seeing that the post had climbed into the top ten in popularity in just two hours, Meng Yuan was quite satisfied.

With this publicity, if any player encounters that mysterious evil spirit, anyone who isn't a fool will definitely contact him immediately.

For the next month, Meng Yuan devoted himself to cultivation every day and occasionally went out to do missions, so his days were quite peaceful.

After destroying two strongholds of the Ten Thousand Evil Caves, and capturing Li Lian, a mid-level disciple of the Ten Thousand Evil Caves, Meng Yuan made a great contribution.

Therefore, with Gu Zhengyang's recommendation, he was promoted to the position of Demon Suppression Commander without any obstacles.

Not only did he get a promotion and a raise, but he also received 300 merit points every month in addition to 100 taels of silver, and he also got a chance to enter the library to select cultivation techniques and Taoist books.

This is also a perk within the Demon Suppression Division.

To become a cultivator in the Demon Suppression Commander, reaching the third level of cultivation is a strict requirement. Such a person is exceptionally talented and would definitely be a mid-level backbone member of the Demon Suppression Division, worthy of vigorous cultivation.

These benefits are what every Demon Suppression Commander can obtain.

However, in the past month, Meng Yuan has not used his experience to improve his cultivation level, but instead has chosen to meditate and cultivate every day.

After all, he is currently at the Lesser Completion of the Purple Mansion Realm. To advance to the Greater Completion of the Purple Mansion Realm, he needs about 160,000 experience points, while Meng Yuan has only accumulated a little over 70,000 experience points on his panel, still 90,000 experience points short.

It's a bit difficult to gather them all in a short period of time.

However, compared to the rapid progress when improving cultivation through experience, Meng Yuan's cultivation speed was pitifully slow, like a tortoise crawling, as he meditated and practiced breathing exercises in front of the rising sun every day.
