Become a king right from the start, beginning with receiving rewards from all the heavens.

The old system has been overthrown, and the resulting profits will certainly be enough to satisfy all parties involved.

Xia Zhaoyan did not intend to completely overturn all the old systems.

For example, he doesn't plan to take action against the current official system.

First, the influence of the official system was too great, and after it was overthrown, there were no people available to fill the gaps.

Furthermore, the official system was practically innocent compared to the system of meritorious officials.

After all, an official cannot guarantee that all his descendants will become officials!

At this moment, one of the officials stepped forward.

Everyone who saw this was truly impressed by his courage.

Taibao Hongliuxian bowed deeply.

"Your Majesty, I would like to ask about the process after all the noble titles have been stripped."

"Should the Great Xia Dynasty continue to retain the noble class?"

At that moment, everyone fell silent.

Both ears stood up high.

Of all the officials present, which one didn't envy the noble family?

If given a choice, they would do everything in their power to make their family noble.

Unfortunately, the Great Xia Dynasty has been in decline since its founding.

Apart from the many nobles enfeoffed at the founding of the dynasty, almost no new nobles have been enfeoffed since then.

However, given His Majesty's aversion to the Xun Gui class, it seems that the Great Xia Dynasty will have to completely abolish the Xun Gui class.

Thinking of this, the officials felt immense hatred towards the old noble class.

It is you scum who have completely shattered our hopes!

Xia Zhaoyan's gaze lingered on Hong Liuxian for a moment.

Sitting on the dragon throne at the head of the table, Xia Zhaoyan looked at everyone and could clearly see their expressions.

No wonder Father Emperor was able to clearly grasp everyone's thoughts during court assemblies in the past.

...

"The Merit System..."

"Hehe, of course we'll keep it!"

"Honkyu doesn't represent a cancer; it's just that some people have forgotten Honkyu's mission."

"This social class gradually evolved into a cancerous growth on the Great Xia Dynasty!"

Xia Zhaoyan will definitely retain the elite class.

As more and more people join my ranks, they will inevitably need to be rewarded for their contributions.

And we should also give the locals something to look forward to.

If the noble class is really abolished, the willingness of local talents to serve the Great Xia will decrease significantly.

Everyone despises Xun Gui, yet everyone wants to become Xun Gui!

However, the subsequent conferment of titles was not so simple.

The officials below breathed a sigh of relief.

Fortunately, His Majesty did not abolish the noble class.

Just as everyone was secretly rejoicing and calculating whether they would be granted a title.

Xia Zhaoyan's voice rang out again.

"Gentlemen, the conferment of titles will be extremely rigorous from now on."

"Even the lowest baron must have made great contributions to be awarded a title."

As for what kind of merit, Xia Zhaoyan did not give a standard.

To put it bluntly, I intend to gradually replace these officials in the court.

These people dream of being granted titles; it's utterly delusional.

In the future, only a minority of the natives will be granted titles.

He can guarantee that the original aspirations of all the heroes under his command will never change, but he cannot guarantee that the original aspirations of the local people will never change.

Therefore, the best solution is to reduce the number of titles bestowed upon local people.

In any case, the heroes under his command are all locals in the eyes of outsiders.

...

After the court assembly ended, Xia Zhaoyan returned to the Hall of State Affairs.

Soon after, Chu Ling'er arrived with the other girls.

"Your Majesty, please try some of the spiritual food we've specially prepared!"

Xia Zhaoyan's expression changed immediately, and the shock of taste from his childhood flashed through his mind.

I was young then, but I tasted all sorts of terrible "food" from around the world.

Chu Ling'er always prepared various kinds of spiritual food in different ways, claiming it was to speed up her cultivation.

The taste was truly indescribable!

Just as he was about to find an excuse to refuse, he saw Chu Ling'er's expression, as if she would cry if he didn't eat.

I had no choice but to bite the bullet and get up!

...

Outside, after the imperial edict stripping all noble titles was issued...

Not only was the entire Great Xia Dynasty shocked.

Even all the forces in the entire Heavenly Wasteland were shocked.

Among the people of the Great Xia Dynasty, everyone wholeheartedly agreed with the Xia Emperor's decision.

"Excellent! The old nobles have been stripped of their titles, making room for us!"

...

"I thought His Majesty was going to completely abolish the nobility, but it turns out he's just dismantling the old system!"

...

"Those powerful noble families have long since become corrupt, only interested in expanding their own clans. Their titles should have been stripped long ago!"

For the various noble families, this moment felt like the sky had fallen.

Inside the Marquis of Lietian's mansion, the clan's high-ranking members were all pale-faced.

Having lost his marquisate, he no longer received any special treatment.

Moreover, the fiefdoms and properties awarded by the imperial court must be returned.

It can be said that the entire family's assets have shrunk by half.

"If you want to live, don't complain or rebel in private!"

"Think about it, we've only lost our titles."

"With our resources, as long as we don't do anything reckless, we will remain a high-level force in the Great Xia Dynasty."

The aged voice of the first-generation Marquis of Rift Heaven echoed in the main hall.

As a Shattered Realm cultivator at its peak, he was destined never to advance to the Dragon Transformation Realm.

However, it is also one of the high-end combat forces of Great Xia.

"From now on, we will be competing head-on with the major forces in the cultivation world."

"So I plan to split up the family, since after returning the rewards to the imperial court, we will not be able to support hundreds of thousands of people."

"From now on, members of the collateral branches of the clan should go out and establish their own households to develop on their own!"

Everyone felt distressed upon hearing this, but they had no choice but to accept the decision.

Just then, an anxious voice came from outside the hall.

A figure hurriedly walked in.

"I hereby inform all the venerable ancestors that the Heavenly Punishment Bureau and the Ministry of Revenue, among other institutions, have descended upon us."

No sooner had the words left his mouth than a voice resounded throughout the Marquis's residence.

"All members of the Song family, listen to my command! Immediately return to this mansion and reclaim the fiefdom and property awarded by the imperial court."

As the voice faded, figures descended upon the Song family mansion.

...

Meanwhile, the same scene was unfolding in every noble residence within the inner city.

The imperial court sent people to reclaim the rewards bestowed upon Xun Gui.

In the following days, those former nobles took action one after another.

One by one, they left the inner city, some settling directly in the outer city.

Some chose to return to their hometowns, as the loss of their titles was too great.

...

Outside of the Great Xia, however, a hidden current was surging.

In an empty dimension, all the dominant forces of the Tianhuang human race have gathered here.

The crowd was now whispering about the Great Xia.

The Great Xia Dynasty has now become a colossal behemoth.

"We have to join forces, otherwise they will definitely choose to expand."

...

Why did the Xia Emperor strip him of his original noble title?

"That's hundreds of forces at the Shattered Realm and hundreds of forces at the Celestial Realm!"

...

"Because those nobles have long been corrupt. If you look at the nobles within your own dynasty, they've already been corrupt for a long time!"

...

"No destruction, no construction; a social class can only maintain its vitality through constant change!"

Just then, a clapping sound rang out.

This interrupted the hushed conversation among the crowd.

Then, a Dragon Transformation Realm cultivator from the Bu Tian Sect stood up.

"Everyone, first of all, thank you for giving face to my Bu Tian Sect to come."

No one spoke, unless the threat from Great Xia was simply too great.

A large portion of the people here don't know about the Bird God Sect.

After all, no one would truly like a force that colludes with the Heavenly Dao!
