Tehran Grocery Store: My Intelligence is Priced Clearly

Chapter 43 Langley's Hasty Escape

After listening to Smith's report, Langley suddenly jumped up from the leather sofa.

He finally understood where that intense unease that had been lingering in his mind came from.

"Hall, that idiot! Useless!"

Langley kicked over the expensive coffee table in front of him.

He slammed the wine glass in his hand onto the thick Persian carpet, splashing ice and wine everywhere.

"It's definitely those incompetent idiots who are good for nothing but causing trouble. They made too much noise in the south of the city and exposed our location!"

Smith stood to the side, raising the back of his hand to wipe away the fine beads of cold sweat seeping from his forehead.

"Chief, what do we do now?"

Langley took a deep breath, his face darkening, and slammed his hand on the doorframe.

"What should we do?"

"What else can we do? Let's get out of here first!"

"Are we just going to wait to get arrested?"

Langley pointed to several safes and a desk piled high with documents in the room.

"Destroy all documents that cannot be taken with you!"

"Smash the hard drive, burn the paper documents!"

The instruction has been issued.

Inside the room, a dozen or so fully armed CIA agents immediately began their operation.

Someone rushed to the safe in the corner and quickly entered the password.

Some people quickly stuffed the documents in their hands into the shredder.

Two agents dragged a gasoline can directly from the balcony, haphazardly stuffed a pile of documents into the can, poured gasoline on it, and set it on fire.

With a loud bang.

Flames shot up more than half a meter high, and the scorching heat instantly spread throughout the spacious living room.

Smith personally grabbed several top-secret lists of undercover agents from the desk and stuffed them into the shredder.

The ear-piercing roar of the machines, the rustling sound of paper being shredded, and the crackling sound of paper burning in the fire bucket all blended together, making the air in the entire room feel scorching.

Langley paced anxiously in the room.

He would occasionally raise his wrist to glance at his watch.

Each tick of the second hand felt like a blow to his heart.

Time passed second by second.

It's too quiet outside.

This silence made Langley increasingly uneasy.

He knows the style of Iranian radicals all too well.

These people usually look like a sieve, leaking air everywhere.

But once they've locked onto a target, they never hesitate to strike.

Moreover, this time it was Ahrid himself who led the team.

He knew that old guy all too well.

"Smith!"

Langley couldn't wait any longer. He frowned and shouted at Smith, who was stuffing documents into the shredder.

"It's too late, just throw the documents into the fire!"

"Let's retreat!"

Smith's hand trembled, and several lists filled with Persian writing fluttered to the ground.

He quickly bent down to pick it up, threw it directly into the fire bucket next to him, and swiftly drew the pistol from his waist.

"Everyone, stop what you're doing!"

"Chief of Protection, use the first-floor passage, quick!"

Several burly field agents immediately surrounded Langley, protecting him in the middle, and the group quickly headed towards the stairwell.

I just reached the corner of the stairs on the first floor.

Smith's tactical communicator, which was hanging around his neck, suddenly emitted a piercing electrical sound.

Immediately afterwards, urgent voices came from the loudspeakers from the outer perimeter.

"Report!"

"A large number of Iranian military vehicles are rapidly approaching the villa!"

"They didn't slow down!"

"No!"

"They've already stormed in!"

The communicator crackled with the loud crash of a heavy armored vehicle smashing through the villa's outer iron fence, followed by the screeching of brakes.

Immediately following was a deafening roar.

It was written in pure Persian.

"حمله کردن‌ (attack)!"

boom! boom! boom!

A burst of intense automatic rifle fire erupted instantly, mixed with the muffled thuds of stun grenades exploding.

The communicator was instantly filled with static and chilling screams.

Langley frowned even more deeply, and quickened his pace.

The six elite sentries deployed on the perimeter couldn't even hold out for half a minute!

The Persians are actually serious this time!

The time left for them can no longer be measured in minutes, but only in seconds!

"Quick! To the storage room!"

Langley shoved aside the agents blocking his way and headed straight for the end of the first-floor corridor.

Smith followed closely behind, extremely anxious.

The group stumbled and broke through the wooden door of the storage room.

Smith rushed in, shoved aside several large cardboard boxes piled in the corner, and lifted the Persian carpet on the floor.

Underneath the carpet was a well-disguised wooden floor.

He gripped the hidden latch on the edge of the floorboard and pried it off forcefully.

A dark, downward passage was revealed.

A cold, musty smell wafted over.

"Chief, let's go!"

Smith stepped aside, clearing the entrance, and stood guard down the corridor with his gun at the ready.

Without the slightest hesitation, Langley crawled down the narrow concrete steps.

Outside the villa.

Three black, heavy-duty armored vehicles had completely blocked the villa's main gate and windows on both sides.

Dozens of fully armed Quds Force commandos jumped out of the vehicle and spread out with extremely skillful tactical maneuvers, sealing off all possible blind spots.

Two demolition experts, carrying C4 explosives, crouched low and, under the cover of the bomb disposal vehicle, rushed to the heavy security door of the villa.

Quickly fix explosives.

Pull out the lead wire.

He then quickly retreated to a safe distance, hid by the wall, and held up three fingers.

"three!"

"two!"

"one!"

boom!

A deafening roar erupted instantly!

The entire three-story white villa was shaking violently.

The glass windows shattered simultaneously under the impact of the shockwave, and fragments flew outwards like a rainstorm.

The heavy security door was torn apart by the rampaging C4.

The twisted metal plate, mixed with gravel and wood chips, crashed heavily into the first-floor living room.

Smoke and dust filled the air, and flames soared into the sky.

Ahrid sat inside the command vehicle.

Looking at the lingering smoke in the room and the faint glow of fire coming from the second floor, he let out a cold laugh.

"Search it for me!"

"Even if we have to dig three feet into the ground, we'll dig Langley out of here today!"

The assault team members immediately grabbed their guns and, under cover of each other, made their way upstairs and into the various rooms on the first floor.

at this time.

Inside the underground passage of the storage room.

Langley's ears were ringing from the loud explosion overhead, and dust splattered all over his head and face.

He could even feel the concrete steps beneath his feet trembling.

"Quick! Close the door!"

Langley yelled at Smith, who was still up there.

Smith shoved the last agent down the secret passage and then quickly jumped in himself.

He reached out and grabbed the disguised wooden plank, then pulled hard.

Click.

The latch is locked.

The secret passage was instantly plunged into suffocating darkness.

Only a few agents' tactical helmet flashlights emitted faint beams, illuminating the narrow, damp passage ahead.

"Which way?"

Smith turned on his flashlight and looked into the bottomless tunnel ahead, his voice trembling slightly.

This was the first time he had ever walked through this secret passage.

Langley leaned against the wall, his mind racing as he recalled the blueprints used to design this escape route.

Keep moving forward.

He pointed ahead.

"This passage leads directly to a house two kilometers away."

"That area is a shantytown slated for demolition, with complex terrain, and cars can't drive in."

"As long as we can slip out of that yard and infiltrate the shantytown, even if Ahrid has incredible abilities, he won't be able to catch us!"

Langley gritted his teeth and spat out a mouthful of saliva.

"Walk!"

The group moved quickly through the narrow, secret passage.

The sound of footsteps echoed in the enclosed space, sounding particularly heavy.
