Mashiro woke up in the afternoon.

She had been curled up on the sofa for too long, and her neck was a little stiff.

When I looked up, my ear twitched. The sensation was more sensitive than in the morning, probably because I had just woken up.

She sat up and stepped barefoot onto the wooden floor.

"Hmm~"

She stretched and then couldn't find her slippers.

I sighed and went barefoot to the bathroom to wash my face.

The girl in the mirror looked much better than in the morning. Upon inspection, the skin at the base of her wings behind her ears was no different from the surrounding skin.

She changed her clothes into a black long-sleeved sweatshirt, the kind with tight cuffs and a zipper that could be pulled up to the stand-up collar.

Before leaving, I put a baseball cap on my head, pulling the brim down low, with the wings that covered my eyes peeking out from under the brim.

She tried to tuck the wings inside the brim of her hat, but it didn't work; the wings pushed the hat up and made it even more noticeable.

Never mind, I'm going out.

There weren't many people on the streets in the afternoon. As Mashiro walked towards the vocational high school, two elementary school students stared at the wings on her head for a long time.

Mashiro sighed, quickened her pace, and arrived at the high school in a blur.

On the training field of the vocational college, the sun made the grass scorching hot.

As Mashiro approached, she could hear the sounds of wooden swords clashing and fists pounding against flesh from afar.

In the center of the training field, Zenin Maki's short hair was stuck to her face with sweat, and a wooden sword was held against Fushiguro's left arm.

She used her foot to make a half-circle on the sand to deflect the force, then flipped her wooden sword and slashed horizontally. Fu Hei jumped back to dodge and counterattacked with the long stick in her hand.

Nearby, Panda and Kugizaki Nobara were also engaged in close combat.

After several days of practice, Kugizaki's close-quarters combat skills have improved significantly.

At least she was able to dodge the panda's attacks and try to fight back, which is quite rare for a ranged mage like her.

When Mashiro entered the training ground, the first person to notice her was Tamaguro.

It came to Shiro's feet and gently rubbed against her trouser leg.

Mashiro crouched down and patted the dog's head.

Sensing Tamaki's condition, Fushiguro Megumi moved away from Maki and looked over in their direction.

His gaze lingered on Shiro's wings.

Fushiguro Megumi twitched the corner of her mouth. Had she learned something strange again?

"There's a flaw!"

Maki smirked, and instead of pausing, she quickly approached Fushiguro Megumi and struck him on the head.

Fushiguro Megumi took two steps back, staring at Maki with deadpan eyes, but in the end, she gave up.

"Mashiro-nee." He walked over and nodded to her.

Kugizaki heard this and turned around to see Mashiro. The cursed nail in his hand dissipated. "Mashiro! What's that on your head? Another new spell?"

"Wings." Mashiro approached. "Just consider it a side effect of the technique."

Kugizaki circled around her curiously, observing her closely: "Can't you see this?"

"It does not affect visibility."

"Oh, that's not bad." Kugizaki nodded, stroking his chin. "I have to admit, you're cuter now."

Maki slung the wooden sword over her shoulder and looked in Mashiro's direction.

"Is this the special advisor?" She walked over and scanned Mashiro from head to toe in just a couple of steps.

Silver hair, wings obscuring her eyes, and barely reaching her shoulder in height, she said, "My name is Zenin Maki. You must be Kujou Mashiro?"

"Yes, Ms. Maki."

Maki looked at Mashiro, who didn't call her by her surname, with some surprise, and her affection for her increased.

She nodded, looking at the pure white wings, and said softly, "They really are cute."

"Thank you for the compliment."

"It's nothing, it's nothing," Maki gently tapped her shoulder with the back of her wooden sword. "Gojo Satoru said you're pretty good at fighting. Level 1?"

"almost."

"What does 'roughly' mean?"

"Stronger than Tier 1, but a little weaker than Tier 1," Mashiro said calmly. "It's somewhere in between."

Maki raised an eyebrow and turned to look at the panda.

The panda has come over, its furry paws folded in front of its chest, its round black eye circles scrutinizing Shiro from head to toe.

"I'm a second-year panda." His tone was gentle. "I heard you exorcised a near-Special Grade all by yourself."

"Good luck."

"Just say you have the ability." Maki planted the wooden sword on the ground and leaned against the hilt. "There's no need for modesty here."

"Hmm, the exorcism was very easy."

Maki's lips twitched slightly; she really did change her mind quickly. "Okay, so what brings you here today?"

"Look at your training."

"You can watch." Maki turned and walked towards the center of the training field, then added, "But if you're going to give advice, don't just say nice things, especially to the two of them."

She gestured with her chin toward Fushiguro and Kugizaki.

Mashiro sat down on the stone steps by the field and watched them train.

Kugizaki walked back to the center of the training field and picked up the wooden sword from the ground.

"Maki-senpai, one more round!"

Maki raised an eyebrow. "Your ribs don't hurt anymore?"

"I'll bear the pain; the exchange meeting is in the next few days."

"Tsk, it's good to be motivated." Maki got into position. "Come on."

The wooden swords clashed again, and Kugizaki's movements were even more forceful than before, each strike carrying his body weight as he slammed inwards. Maki had to take two steps back to regain her balance.

Panda, standing on the sidelines, shook his head and said, "Kugizaki is so fierce today," and Dog Roll nodded in agreement, "Salmon."

The sound of wooden swords echoed in the center of the training field.

Fukuro also walked towards the training ground. As he passed by Panda, Panda patted him on the shoulder and said something, but he couldn't hear it because he was too far away.

Kugizaki and Maki's sparring continues.

Dog Roll suddenly stood up and walked towards Mashiro. He stopped in front of Mashiro, pulled down his collar a little, revealing his mouth.

"Seaweed." He pointed to the stone steps next to him, indicating whether he could sit down.

Mashiro nodded.

Dog Roll sat down, took out a throat lozenge from his pocket, and handed it to Mashiro.

Mashiro took it, unwrapped the candy, and put it in her mouth. It tasted like honey lemon.

"Tuna mayonnaise," Dog Roll said, as if making some important comment.

"Mm," Mashiro replied.

Although she didn't understand, the general meaning was good.

Soon she stood up and left the training field.

My phone vibrated as I walked out of the school gate; it was a LINE message from Gojo Satoru.

"Gojo Satoru": I'm going to Tokyo tomorrow afternoon. The exchange meeting starts the day after tomorrow. How are Hisahito's preparations going?

"Mashiro": He said he'd practice one more day today.

"Wutiao Wu": Okay, I'll go to the underground to inspect it tomorrow.

"Gojo Satoru": By the way, I heard about your new look.

"Mashiro": Who told you that?

"Gojo Satoru": Fushiguro said you have two pairs of wings on your head. Do you know how he described it?

"Mashiro": I don't know.

"Gojo Satoru": Although having wings on your head is a bit weird, you're still pretty cute.

Mashiro stared at the screen for a moment, then put her phone back in her pocket.

Fukuro Megumi, you talk too much. I'll give you a good beating next time.
