At that moment, the curtain to the inner room was lifted, and a young woman came out.

She was dressed in a simple blue dress, with delicate features and particularly bright eyes.

She saw three strangers standing at the door and paused slightly.

"Qingqing, come here."

Ikkyu waved and said, "Greetings to these fellow Daoists from Maoshan."

Qingqing walked over slowly and nodded slightly to the group: "Greetings, fellow Daoists."

Shi Shaojian and Jiale's eyes lit up at the same time.

Immediately, Shi Shaojian's face fell. He remembered the seal on his kidney meridian and immediately lost interest.

Jiale beamed and quickly moved closer, saying, "Qingqing, I'm Jiale, I live next door! Come visit often!"

Qingqing glanced at him, nodded politely, and said nothing.

Master Ikkyu smiled without saying a word as he looked at Jiale's eager demeanor.

At noon, Four Eyes learned that Ikkyu had returned and muttered a few curses: "Why is that old bald monk back again!"

Despite his scolding, he still asked Jiale to cook a few more dishes and even went to the lake to catch a fish.

Ask Jiale to go next door and invite Yixiu and Qingqing over for dinner.

At the dinner table, Simu and Ikkyu sat facing each other.

The two were initially very polite, serving each other food and tea, but soon they started arguing.

"Monk, I hadn't seen you for days. I thought you'd gone to see Buddha!"

"This humble monk did go, but Buddha has instructed me to return and take my fellow Daoist with me to ascend to the Pure Land!"

As they were talking, the two started pushing and shoving each other on the table, eventually overturning it and shattering dishes all over the floor.

"You did this on purpose!" Four eyes glared at the old monk.

"You pushed first!" Ikkyu rolled up his sleeves.

Lin Bei and Shi Shaojian silently retreated to the outside of the yard and squatted down to eat, while Jia Le and Qing Qing looked at each other in bewilderment.

In the end, food was flying everywhere in the house, and a piece of tofu was even splattered on Qingqing's face.

"Hmph, I'm not playing with you anymore!"

Master Ikkyu recited a Buddhist phrase: "Amitabha!"

Then I took Qingqing home!

On the other hand, Si Mu smiled broadly, walked up to Jia Le, and vigorously rubbed his cheeks: "Oh, Master really loves you to death!"

"Good boy/girl, go wash your master's shoes!"

Watching the farce end, Lin Bei found it amusing. These two were already so old, yet they were still bickering every day.

That evening, Lin Bei noticed that Si Mu was fiddling with something in the room.

Upon entering, one finds a table covered with cotton, strips of cloth, and two objects resembling coconut shells.

"Uncle-Master, what are you doing?" Lin Bei asked knowingly.

Without looking up, Si Mu said, "Prepare things for sleeping."

He put the two coconut shells on his head. "Look," he said, "that way, the sound of that old bald monk striking the wooden fish can't get in."

Lin Bei suppressed a laugh: "Master Ikkyu, do you strike a wooden fish tonight?"

"Hmph, they start banging on it before dawn every day!"

Four eyes held deep resentment, "Like a rooster crowing at dawn, it crows precisely on time, not a moment late!"

"It's so noisy I can't sleep well every night!"

Lin Bei smiled, knowing what was about to happen, and was already looking forward to the show.

Sure enough, before dawn, a clear, crisp sound of a wooden fish came from the neighboring courtyard.

The rhythm was steady, neither too fast nor too slow, with a very strong penetrating force!

Even though Lin Bei was prepared and used the earplugs that Si Mu gave him, he still couldn't sleep because of the ubiquitous sound of the wooden fish!

Shi Shaojian, who lived next door, looked pained and couldn't help but shout, "Who is it! What are you banging on so early in the morning!"

Si Mu tossed and turned in bed, covering his head with the blanket, then turned over and covered his ears with a pillow.

After struggling for a while, he suddenly sat up, his face full of grief and indignation.

"I can't take it anymore! I can't take it anymore!" Four Eyes cried out in despair.

"Coconut shells are useless!"

"A small bowl is useless!"

"Cotton is useless!"

"Even the wick of a lamp can't stop you!"

He turned around, jumped off the bed, grabbed a wooden box, and walked out.

Jiale was awakened by the commotion outside. She came out and saw Simu: "Master! Where are you going?"

"Buy a house!"

Jiale: ......

Si Mu carried the box to the next room, where Master Ikkyu was sitting cross-legged on a futon, striking a wooden fish.

He ignored Si Mu as he entered and continued chanting and striking the wooden fish.

Si Mu put the box on the ground, opened it with a snap, and the whole box of small yellow croakers was inside!

Master Ikkyu paused for a moment, glancing into the box with his eyes, and exclaimed in surprise!

Wow! So much gold!

"Monk, I've bought your house!"

Four Eyes, hands on hips, said, "Name your price!"

Ikkyu glanced down at the box of gold, then looked up at Simu, shaking his head with a smile: "Not for sale."

"Not for sale?"

Their eyes widened in disbelief. "I came here with the utmost sincerity to buy this!"

"Monks are detached from worldly desires; wealth is like dirt to them."

Ikkyu clasped his hands together and said, "Besides, this humble monk intends to stay here, chanting sutras and reciting Buddhist scriptures until my passing. Fellow Daoist, please return!"

Si Mu gritted his teeth in anger, "Fine, let's see when you die!"

Just as I was about to leave, I saw a small clay figure on the offering table.

Four Eyes darted around: "Monk, can I have this clay figure?"

Master Ikkyu glanced at the clay figure; it was Qingqing who had sculpted it in his likeness!

"You like it? It's yours!"

Four Eyes took the clay figure, then had Ikkyu press a red handprint on its back before excitedly returning to his room.

After returning to the house, Si Mu closed the door and took out a scarecrow from under the table.

Scrape the red handprints off the clay figure and smear them on the scarecrow, then begin to perform hand seals and chant incantations.

"Supreme Lord's decree! The Dharma is transmitted through objects! So be it!"

Lin Bei stood at the door for a while, then turned around and glared at him: "What are you looking at?"

"It's nothing, please continue." Lin Bei smiled and left.

Si Mu fiddled with things in the room for a while, and then a commotion of chickens and dogs came from the room next door, belonging to Master Yixiu.

Not long after, Qingqing ran over carrying a mirror.

Just as Si Mu was feeling smug, Qingqing smiled and held the mirror up in front of him.

The mirror reflected the four eyes, and then Qingqing pressed a doll onto the mirror!

Before Si Mu could react to what was happening, his legs suddenly started moving involuntarily.

It was jumping around in the room and couldn't stop.

"What's going on!"

Their eyes snapped to Qingqing. "What did you do to me?!"

Qingqing smiled and took a half step back while holding the mirror: "My master said this is called 'an eye for an eye.'"

"Miss Qingqing! Please spare my master!" Jiale begged for mercy.

Qingqing snorted: "Let him prank my master!"

In the end, Four Eyes gave in and apologized to Ikkyu in front of him.

They had to drink a whole vat of oil to break the spell, and the two were finally reconciled.

Watching this scene, Lin Bei couldn't help but sigh: The relationship between these two neighbors is really quite lively.
