Zombie World: Starting as an apprentice of the Thunder King
Chapter 115 With me, Awei, here, don't be afraid.
Uncle Nine stood up, walked around the hall with his hands behind his back, and slowly recounted what happened back then!
"Those beasts, their sect is in the Lingnan area!"
"More than a decade ago, Maoshan and Longhushan joined forces with other sects to besiege the Corpse Soul Sect, killing most of their experts. Even the sect leader was personally killed by Zhang Tianshi of the Celestial Master's Mansion. However, some escaped and were scattered in various places. This evil sect should be one of the remnants that escaped back then."
"I can't believe it's made a comeback!"
Lin Bei's eyes turned cold: "Well done! These evil sects have committed such heinous acts; they should be exterminated!"
Shi Shaojian chimed in, "That guy said he's an outer sect elder of the Corpse Soul Sect, so he must have some influence!"
Uncle Nine glanced at the Soul-Capturing Mirror on the table, his gaze turning cold: "A mid-stage True Person outer sect elder? Hmph, it seems the Corpse Soul Sect has secretly amassed quite a fortune over the years."
He stood up, walked to the offering table, picked up a yellow talisman, walked to the Soul-Capturing Mirror, and began to chant incantations and perform hand gestures.
"Capture the soul, lock the spirit; let the primordial spirit leave the body! So be it!"
A ray of light shot from the fingertip into the mirror, and a shrill scream immediately came from within the mirror. The soul of the black-robed man struggled violently in the mirror, letting out painful roars.
"ah!!!"
Uncle Nine remained expressionless as his magical power flowed continuously into the mirror. The soul churned and twisted in the spiritual light, like an insect being roasted over a fire.
"I ask you, where is the Corpse Soul Sect currently based?"
"I don't know... I'm just an outer sect elder..." The black-robed man's voice was broken and filled with pain.
Uncle Nine intensified his magical power, and the soul let out an even more piercing scream. The torment of soul refining far surpassed any torture in the world!
"Ah!!! I'll talk! I'll talk!" The man in black robes finally couldn't hold on any longer, his voice trembling: "The sect is now... in Black Wind Ridge in Lingnan! There's an underground cave inside the mountain, and the sect leader and several elders are there!"
"What are you doing? Why are you extracting so many souls from the people?"
"The sect leader is...forging a magical artifact...which requires a large number of souls...we're collecting them outside and handing them over to the sect..." The black-robed man's voice grew weaker and weaker.
Uncle Nine asked a few more questions, and the man in black answered them one by one.
The Corpse Soul Sect has been secretly developing in the shadows for years, taking advantage of war and turmoil to plunder souls everywhere. From cultivators to ordinary people, there is no living person they dare not touch.
If they weren't worried about alerting the major sects, they might even have considered massacring the entire city!
After asking the question, Uncle Nine withdrew his magic power, and the soul lay paralyzed in the mirror, on the verge of death.
"Such evil and heretical behavior will only cause trouble if left unchecked." Uncle Nine took out a soul-suppressing talisman and affixed it to the mirror, completely sealing the soul within. "Once things are settled here, I'll personally send him to the underworld and let the hell court give him a proper welcome!"
Lin Bei felt a chill run down his spine. You can't judge a book by its cover. Uncle Jiu usually looks calm and collected, but when he really gets going, he's even more ruthless than Lin Bei.
Uncle Nine turned around, his expression becoming more serious: "I know about the Black Wind Ridge incident, but right now the most important thing is to deal with this purple zombie in Renjia Town."
"As for the Corpse Soul Sect, I will send a message back to Maoshan and let the Sect Master make a decision."
Lin Bei nodded: "What my martial uncle says is true!"
Meanwhile, Awei led all the security guards in a search of the nearby mountains and forests. More than twenty men, carrying guns, were divided into several teams and began searching inch by inch from the outskirts of the town.
Awei walked at the front of the group, holding a pistol in his hand, looking around as if he was ready to run away at any moment.
"Get yourselves together!" Awei yelled behind him. "Whoever finds the zombies' hiding place first will be handsomely rewarded by this captain!"
The security guards responded sparsely and dispersed into the woods.
A whole morning passed, and they climbed over several hills without seeing a single zombie.
Exhausted, Awei leaned against a pine tree, panting heavily. He wiped his sweat and muttered to himself.
"That thing didn't escape, did it?"
"Captain!" A henchman came running up, panting. "We've found a cave ahead!"
Awei's eyes lit up, and he jumped to his feet: "Where is it? Lead the way!"
A group of people followed the henchman through a dense forest, and sure enough, they saw a dark cave entrance halfway up the mountain. The entrance was mostly covered by vines and weeds, and it would be impossible to find unless you specifically looked for it.
Awei stood outside the cave entrance and peered inside. It was pitch black, and he couldn't see anything. A cold wind blew out of the cave, making him shiver.
"You two, go in and take a look." Awei gestured with his chin toward the two teammates beside him.
The two team members' faces turned deathly pale instantly: "Ah? Captain...we..."
"What do you mean, 'you'?" Awei pulled out his pistol and brandished it at them. "If you don't go in, I'll kill you all right now!"
The two team members exchanged a glance, their faces ashen, and gritted their teeth as they bravely ventured into the cave.
Awei stood at the entrance of the cave, craning his neck and straining to look inside.
The cave was pitch black, and the only sound was the footsteps of two people walking further and further away. Not long after, a scream suddenly came from inside!
"ah!!"
Startled, Awei immediately raised his pistol and aimed it at the cave entrance: "Get ready, everyone!"
A dozen or so security guards raised their guns in unison, aiming them at the entrance of the cave.
Immediately afterward, hurried footsteps came from inside, and the two team members scrambled out, their faces pale, shouting, "Bear! Bear!"
Awei nearly pulled the trigger: "What bear?"
Roar! ! !
No sooner had they finished speaking than a deafening roar came from the cave entrance, and a black bear as tall as two people rushed out of the cave, its blood-red mouth wide open, and pounced on them.
"Oh my god! Run!"
Awei turned and ran, not even bothering to fire his gun, tumbling and crawling down the mountain. A dozen or so security guards followed suit, rushing down the mountain faster than rabbits.
The black bear stopped halfway up the mountain, roared a few times at the fleeing figures, and then slowly turned and walked back into the cave.
At the cave entrance, the black bear sat obediently, its eyes glowing with an eerie red light, guarding the cave like a door god.
Deep inside the cave, a tattered, purplish-black zombie lay on the cold stone ground. The wound on its chest, cleaved open by Uncle Nine, was still emanating a corpse aura, though it was much fainter than the night before.
Feng shui master Liu Santong stood beside the zombie, holding a talisman in his hand and chanting incantations as he infused the zombie with a stream of yin energy.
The zombie's body twitched slightly, and the wound on its chest healed a little more.
"Don't rush!" Liu Santong's voice was hoarse and deep. "I'll give you a good meal tonight."
