I chose one of four options at the start, and I chose the number one clan in Lingnan.

Chapter 4: You dare mess with the Lin family? Wan Nanding will teach you what rules are!

The massive steel bucket crashed down on Lin Ting's head with a whooshing sound.

Lin Ting stood still, without even blinking.

"Bang!"

A red brick, about half the size of a fist, flew from the dirt road halfway up the mountain and hit the windshield of the excavator's cab precisely.

The glass shattered into countless spiderweb-like cracks.

The excavator driver was so startled that his hand trembled and he pulled the control lever sharply.

The bucket stopped less than half a meter above Lin Ting's head.

Zhao Laosi cursed, "What the hell are you? Get the hell out of here!"

The driver pointed down the mountain, his mouth agape, his voice trembling: "Boss... boss, look down the mountain."

Zhao Laosi turned his head and looked down the mountain.

The mountains and fields were teeming with people.

The dark mass of people rushed up the several dirt roads leading up the mountain.

Leading the way was Old Li from the slaughterhouse, shirtless, carrying two still-dripping pig-slaughtering knives.

Following behind were several thousand young men from the Lin family, carrying steel pipes, wrenches, chains, and hoes.

Further on, there was a dense crowd of middle-aged and elderly men from the Lin family, some carrying rusty hunting rifles, others carrying homemade harpoons.

The mountains and fields stretch as far as the eye can see.

With the blessing of the system's [Level One Clan Gathering Order], tens of thousands of Lin family men had bloodshot eyes and were breathing heavily, as if they had gone mad.

They rushed tirelessly up the back mountain, completely surrounding the mountainside.

The footsteps of tens of thousands of people pounded on the muddy ground, making the earth tremble.

The three hundred thugs in black vests, who were arrogant and domineering just a moment ago, are now completely dumbfounded.

The baseball bats and machetes they carried were less than firewood in front of more than 10,000 people.

"Grandpa!"

Lin Fei led over a hundred strong young men from his clan to the front, bypassing the excavator and blocking Lin Ting's path.

Hundreds of machetes and steel pipes were pointed at Zhao Laosi.

The cigar in Zhao Laosi's mouth fell to the ground.

He swallowed hard, his legs trembling with fear.

Is this some damn remote, run-down village?

Which village could summon more than ten thousand strong men wielding knives in one go?

"Don't fucking move!" Old Li raised his butcher knife and pointed it at the excavator driver.

The driver raised his hands, tumbled and crawled out of the cab, and knelt on the ground with his knees buckling.

All eight excavators were shut down.

The three hundred thugs were at a loss, their hands gripping baseball bats sweating.

Lin Fei swung his iron rod and smashed it into the shoulder of one of the thugs next to him.

"Clang!" The thug's machete fell to the ground, and he clutched his shoulder and screamed in pain.

"What are you still holding onto those weapons for? Are you just waiting to die?!" Lin Fei roared.

The three hundred thugs were terrified and threw down their weapons.

"Stop fighting! We surrender!"

Three hundred people covered their heads with their hands and squatted on the ground in unison. Some of the more timid ones even urinated in their pants, the yellow liquid flowing down their trouser legs into the mud.

No one dared to resist.

With a population difference of one to thirty, even a single spit from each of them could drown them.

The crowd parted to both sides, making way for a two-meter-wide passage.

Eight burly men from the Lin family carried the century-old grand master's chair carved with a tiger descending the mountain from the ancestral hall, step by step up the mountain along the passage.

The grand chair landed steadily behind Lin Ting.

Lin Ting turned around and sat down in the armchair with an air of authority.

He took the two walnuts out of his pocket and twirled them in his palm.

"Click, click."

The back hill was so quiet that the only sound was the clicking of walnuts being turned.

Tens of thousands of Lin family men stood around, not one of them speaking, all staring at Lin Ting sitting in the grand master's chair.

This is the great-grandfather they elected.

Lin Ting raised his eyelids and looked at Zhao Laosi standing in front of him.

"Zhao Laosi, you just said you wanted to wipe me out?" Lin Ting asked.

Zhao Laosi wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, forcing himself not to kneel down.

"Don't you dare do anything reckless!" Zhao Laosi's voice trembled. "This is a society governed by law! I'm a member of the Zhao Group! Our group is valued at tens of billions. If you dare touch me, our boss won't let you get away with it!"

Lin Ting didn't even glance at him.

He turned to look at his second great-uncle.

The second uncle was no longer weak as before. He straightened his back and walked to Lin Ting's side with his cane.

"Second Uncle, according to our Lin family's clan rules, what should be done if an outsider disturbs our ancestors' graves?" Lin Ting asked.

The second uncle stared at the shattered urn on the ground, his eyes red-rimmed, and he shouted through gritted teeth.

"Replying to Grandfather! The third rule of the Lin family is: Anyone who harms the ancestors shall die!"

Lin Ting nodded, holding the two walnuts in his hand, which made a crisp clinking sound.

"Did you hear that? It's the rule of the Lin family: anyone who harms our ancestors shall die."

Lin Ting stood up and pointed to the tombstone that had been crushed by the excavator.

"Today, he led a group of people to trample on our ancestral graves and smash our urns."

"Tomorrow, others will dare to shit on our necks!"

Lin Ting looked around at the tens of thousands of clansmen and raised his voice.

"Tell him whether the Lin family agrees or not!"

"No way!"

Tens of thousands of Lin family men roared in unison.

The roar was deafening, making Zhao Laosi's eardrums ache.

Zhao Laosi was so frightened that his legs went weak and he knelt down in the mud with a thud.

He was utterly terrified.

These people had a fierce look in their eyes; they were truly ready to kill.

"Grandpa! Grandpa, I was wrong!" Old Zhao, disregarding all pride, slapped himself repeatedly across the face. "I was blind to your greatness! I'll pay! I'll pay ten million! I'll rebuild the tombs of all our ancestors!"

Lin Ting sat back down in the armchair and waved his hand.

"It's too late."

"Fei-zai, teach him a lesson."

Lin Fei had been holding back his anger for a long time.

He walked forward, carrying the blood-stained iron rod.

Zhao Laosi retreated repeatedly, bracing himself on the ground with both hands and desperately trying to shrink back.

"Don't come any closer! I have the county magistrate's son backing me up! If you dare touch me, I'll seal off your entire village tomorrow!" Old Zhao shouted at the top of his lungs.

Lin Fei swung the iron rod and smashed it down hard on Zhao Laosi's right knee.

"Snap!"

The sound of bones breaking rang out.

Zhao Laosi let out a miserable scream and rolled around in the mud, clutching his right leg.

Lin Fei did not stop, and once again raised the iron rod and smashed it into Zhao Laosi's left leg.

Another crisp sound.

Zhao Laosi's eyes rolled back, and he almost fainted from the pain.

My legs are completely useless.

The three hundred thugs squatting on the ground trembled with fear, burying their heads in their crotches and not daring to breathe.

Lin Ting looked at the group of thugs.

"Strip them naked and throw them out of Tazhai Town along the mountain road," Lin Ting ordered.

Thousands of young men from the Lin family rushed forward.

The three hundred thugs had no chance to resist; their clothes were stripped off until they were only wearing their underwear.

They were dragged down the mountain by the Lin family like dead dogs.

Two strong men also grabbed Zhao Laosi by the arms and dragged him down the mountain, leaving two long trails of blood on the muddy ground from his broken legs.

The Lin family smashed eight excavators into scrap metal with hammers and steel pipes.

After half an hour.

On the dirt road outside Tazhai Town.

Three hundred thugs, wearing only underwear, huddled together by the roadside, shivering from the cold.

Zhao Laosi lay beside the stinking ditch, covered in mud, his legs broken in a twisted position.

He gasped for breath, enduring the excruciating pain as he pulled a shattered cell phone from the pocket of his tattered coat.

I dialed a number.

The phone rang three times before being answered.

"Hey? Fourth Brother, is everything done?" A young man's voice came from the other end of the phone, with heavy bass music from a disco playing in the background.

Zhao Laosi burst into tears over the phone.

"Young master! Help me, young master!"

"Those unruly villagers in Tazhai Village have rebelled! They gathered over ten thousand people and smashed all our excavators!"

"That bastard Lin Ting even had both of my legs broken!"

The music on the other end of the phone stopped.

The young man's tone turned cold: "What did you say? Someone dares to cripple my men on my turf?"

Zhao Laosi gritted his teeth and stared in the direction of Tazhai Town.

"Young master, you must stand up for me! Those peasants don't respect you at all! They said that even if you go there, you'll have to kneel and kowtow in front of their ancestral hall!"

The person on the other end of the phone gave a cold laugh.

"What a wonderful Lin Family Village."

"Since they're so stubborn, I'll go and have a go at them. Fourth brother, you go to the hospital first!"
