I only ever thought of her as my brother's sister.

*

Saturday evening at 6:30 pm.

Students left the tutoring center one after another, carrying their schoolbags.

Wen Zhining also came out of her tutoring class and waited for her brother's car for a long time, but it never arrived.

Just as she was about to make the call, a car stopped in front of her, and someone got out.

The first thing that catches the eye is two long legs, encased in black casual pants.

Further up, dressed casually in black, with an upright posture, he exuded an air of nobility. When he smiled, the corners of his eyes twitched slightly, giving him a captivating, fox-like charm. When he looked up, his gaze was gentle.

"Is this Wen Zhining?" he asked softly, his voice gentle and reassuring.

Wen Zhining nodded.

"I'm your brother. He's busy, so he asked me to pick you up and take you home," he explained.

Wen Zhining took a few steps back, gripped the strap of her schoolbag tightly, and her two braids swayed slightly.

She looked around warily.

He realized what was happening and laughed out loud: "Little sister, do you think I'm a bad person?"

"Although you are handsome, I have seen the news. I will not be easily captured and taken back by you to have my kidneys and heart removed."

He nodded in agreement. "It's good that you have this awareness."

Then he suggested, "Why don't you call your brother and ask him?"

"I can do it without you telling me," Wen Zhining muttered, taking out her phone to make a call.

"Brother, why aren't you here yet? You said you'd pick me up," she said, dissatisfied.

The voice was soft and gentle, lacking any imposing manner.

His gaze couldn't help but linger on her.

The girl carried a pink backpack, had her hair in braids that fell in front of her, and wore a yellow dress; she looked youthful, bright, and beautiful.

He explained, "I was busy at school, so I asked my brother to go. He's the really handsome one, wearing black clothes, his name is Jiang Jihe." Although he didn't want to admit it, he still gritted his teeth and said it.

The moment their eyes met, Jiang Jihe realized that he had been staring at the girl for too long, which was impolite.

I looked away and patiently waited for her to finish confirming.

"Jiang, Ji, He?" She pronounced the name a little slowly for the first time.

Jiang Jihe took out his student ID. "It's me."

Wen Zhining glanced at the photo. The person in the photo was sitting upright, wearing their university uniform, which outlined his exquisite and almost perfect face, with three-dimensional and deep features.

She couldn't help but mutter, "He's so handsome in the photos."

Jiang Jihe smiled and said, "Thank you for the compliment. My sister is very pretty too."

Wen Zhining tried to open the back door, but Jiang Jihe went around to the passenger side and called her over.

"Little sister, sit here."

When he calls out to his sister, there's always a seductive quality to it; it's incredibly alluring.

But I also know that calling someone "younger sister" is polite but also carries a sense of distance.

Wen Zhining's schoolbag was placed in the back seat, and she sat in the passenger seat.

Jiang Jihe started navigating to take her home.

I glanced at his hands as he gripped the steering wheel; his knuckles were distinct, and the veins on his wrists were fine and clear. He was clean and wearing nothing.

"What's the relationship between my brother and my brother?" Wen Zhining asked.

The quiet car was finally filled with conversation.

"Your brother and I are roommates, and we're in the same class."

Wen Zhining immediately asked, "Has my brother been seeing other girls?"

"Does he have someone he likes? Is he pursuing anyone?"

Jiang Jihe chuckled, "So eager to find a sister-in-law?"

"Brother, don't change the subject." She said earnestly.

Her voice was clear and melodious when she called out "brother".

"Okay, let's not get sidetracked." Jiang Jihe thought carefully. "There shouldn't be any. He's either in the dormitory or the teaching building all day, doing his assignments and experiments."

"No..." She frowned, looking very disappointed. "No wonder you always cause me trouble."

She glanced at him, then perked up again and continued gossiping, "And what about you, brother?"

"Brother, you're so handsome, you must have one, right?"

"Yes," he replied, his fingers tapping absently on the steering wheel.

Waiting for the traffic light.

"Wow, your sister must be so happy." She said with a tone full of envy.

"Turns out my sister likes to gossip; I thought she'd talk to me about studying," he joked.

When this topic was brought up, Wen Zhining immediately fell silent.

He glanced at her.

The girl clearly didn't want to talk. She turned her head to look out the car window, looking sullen, leaving behind a faintly visible, delicate profile.

He thought for a moment and asked, "Are you having any problems with your studies?"

"I'm so tired." She finally turned around. "I just came from tutoring class, and you brought it up again, brother. How boring."

"You're just like my brother, you're both terrible at conversation."

"Besides, what kind of question is this? What do you mean by having problems with learning? I'm second in the whole school, so I don't have any problems."

She held up two fingers to prove herself.

Jiang Jihe showed a perfectly timed expression of surprise and echoed her sentiment.

"Wow, my little sister is so amazing! I misspoke. I'll go buy you a drink later, okay?"

"Okay." Wen Zhining immediately changed the subject. "I want to drink milk tea, and I want to drink mango pomelo sago."

"Okay," he replied, found a milk tea shop, and parked his car.

I got off the bus to buy milk tea.

There were quite a lot of people at this time, and Jiang Jihe was standing at the door, waiting in line for his cup to be made.

Wen Zhining looked at him for a few seconds in the car, then got out and walked to his side.

"Why did you come down?" he asked, somewhat surprised.

"I was worried my brother would be bored, so I came to keep him company and chat with him." She looked up at him.

Jiang Jihe inexplicably felt the urge to reach out and ruffle her hair a couple of times.

So well-behaved.

"Will my brother take me home and then leave?" she asked.

"Does my sister want me to stay?" he laughed.

"Yes," she nodded, admitting it very honestly.

Jiang Jihe was at a loss for how to continue the conversation.

"If you were here, brother, you definitely wouldn't dare to say anything to me in front of you when he comes back." She gave a playful smile.

"What did he say about you?"

"You say I don't study hard and always want to play," she retorted, looking at him defiantly. "Brother, tell me, my playing hasn't interfered with my studies, right?"

Her eyes held a hint of expectation, hoping to gain his approval.

He wanted to tease her, so he pretended to be thinking.

She blinked, still looking at him.

Just then, his milk tea arrived. He went to pick it up, and as he left the store, he saw a girl standing at the door with her arms crossed, looking at him unhappily.

She got a little annoyed when she didn't get a reply from him.

"If it doesn't interfere with your studies, you can definitely play. It's about balancing work and rest." He wisely stopped teasing her.

She smiled, her dimples appearing on her cheeks.

"Want to drink now?" He shook the milk tea in his hand and took out a straw.

"Mmm." Her eyes crinkled into a smile.

"I want to buy another cake so we can eat it later," she said, pointing to the cake shop next door.

"it is good."

He inserted the straw and followed in her footsteps.

The male protagonist has a girlfriend in name only (after all, he stole her away and acted immorally), but he has no feelings for her. The reason will be explained later (hands clasped together).
