"Cut!" the assistant director shouted. "Everyone, take a break!"

He'd be a fool not to eat the melon if there was one to eat.

The actor appeared to be resting, but in reality, he was straining his ears to listen carefully to what was happening.

"Guidu." Wen Zhining looked at Ke Guidu, who was walking towards her, with a hint of grievance.

"What's wrong? Did she slander you again?" Ke Guidu walked over to Wen Zhining's side.

"What do you mean I slandered her again?" Angie's face twisted in disbelief. "I just saw her yesterday. Are we that close?"

Everyone looked at Angie and fell silent.

"You don't know her. She was just doing my makeup, so why are you telling everyone you were giving her things?" Ke Guidu asked.

"She just told me to get something, right? She was in your dressing room, you heard it too, didn't you?" Angie said hurriedly.

Under everyone's gaze, Ke Guidu slowly uttered two words: "No."

"Alright, don't you find your words amusing? How could you go into Guidu's dressing room? You have your own." The director said speechlessly.

"You're late, so what? Just say you're late, wouldn't it be better to be honest? And you're even slandering Sister Ning. If she asked you to get something, where is it?"

"Besides, Sister Ning is the most meticulous in her work. She can handle everything herself. Why would she ask you to get it for no reason? You already said you're not familiar with her anymore," a staff member added leisurely.

Wen Zhining glanced at him. Oh, he had worked in the same film crew before. He looked somewhat familiar, but she couldn't recall his name.

She looked around again and realized she knew all the staff members in the group.

"I'm the female lead! What's wrong with waiting for me?!" Angie exclaimed angrily. "You don't trust the crew members, but you trust an outside agent! Is this show even going to be filmed?!"

"Sister Ning is now living in our crew's place, she's one of us. As for outsiders, well..." The staff member drew out the last syllable meaningfully.

"Who is that outsider? It's so hard to guess."

"Who among us doesn't know Sister Ning?"

The staff members spoke one after another, and one of them was very excited, shouting back.

Everyone nodded and said in unison, "We know each other!"

Even the actors joined in, nodding their approval.

The director, who was also nodding, felt that something was amiss.

Isn't this a movie shoot? Why did it suddenly get so exciting?

"Alright everyone, even though she can't produce any evidence and she slandered me, I will still forgive her, after all, she is the female lead of our drama."

"She just wanted to shift the blame to my manager, thinking my manager was easy to bully," Ke Guidu added.

"Alright, Guidu, stop joking around. You've been waiting for over an hour, go take pictures with her now," Wen Zhining said with a smile.

The two stood side by side, looking at Angie, each saying a sentence, their eyes filled with blatant malice, directly threatening Angie.

When he looked at other people, his eyes turned into a fake smile.

Angie finally understood that she was being targeted at her.

She also coerced Ke Guidu into giving a false testimony for her.

They made her go out to get something that didn't even exist, made her wander around the film studio for ages, and made her ask countless fans and tourists dressed in black who came in, like a fool.

When she finally returned, no one believed her. They thought she was shifting the blame to Wen Zhining to justify her lateness.

At this point, it would be impossible to call her makeup artist to testify, since everyone trusted Wen Zhining so much.

Moreover, the makeup artist might have been coerced by Wen Zhining.

"Alright, alright, it's just a joke. Lead actress, get ready and let's get filming going so we don't waste time," the director said.

"I hate these kinds of people who use connections the most," the assistant director muttered.

Wen Zhining pulled out a chair and sat down next to the assistant director. "The female lead who was originally cast contacted me and things went well, but unfortunately we didn't meet."

"The main reason I came with Guidu this time is because I know you and the assistant director are here. It's been a long time since we last met, hasn't it?"

The assistant director laughed and said, "The last time was three months ago when my variety show started filming. You came by then, but we've been too busy ever since, and we've been exchanging messages in a loop."

"Ningning, did you receive the subsidy I sent yesterday?" the director interjected.

"Received." Wen Zhining's voice was light and cheerful. "Next time the three of us are free, let's have a meal together. Gui Du and I will treat."

"This actress is really bad at acting. It's a pity that Ningning won't get to see the original lead actress." The director sighed as he watched Angie act on camera.

"It's all because the capital behind her is pressuring us. They insisted on squeezing in to play the female lead, and they only told us after the filming and promotion were over." The assistant director's words were full of dissatisfaction with Angie.

"Don't be angry, Guidu bought milk tea and coffee for everyone, they'll be here soon," Wen Zhining said.

"Gui Du and Ning Ning are so considerate, unlike some people—" Seeing the female lead approach, the assistant director raised his voice, "They haven't shown any promise since joining the crew, and they're even framing people!"

Wen Zhining covered her mouth and smiled.

"Cut!" the director yelled. "Take a break and have lunch. We'll do another take later. The female lead's performance wasn't up to par."

Angie had just walked over when she was subtly mocked, but she forced a smile and said, "What would you like to drink? I can order."

"It's time to go back to shore. It would be a waste of your precious money if you did." The assistant director waved his hand. "No need, no need."

Ke Guidu walked over, looking somewhat displeased.

"What's wrong?" Wen Zhining asked softly to the person who had come over and squatted down in front of her.

"I've been stuck on so many takes, it just won't pass," Ke Guidu complained softly. "I'm so tired of acting with people like this."

"It's alright, you should rest first." Wen Zhining handed him the script and pulled him up. "Sit down, don't squat."

The figure, which was quite small when squatting, became tall and slender when standing up.

To capture Wen Zhining's attention.

Wen Zhining went to communicate with the director.

Ke Guidu followed, standing right behind Wen Zhining, his chin resting on her shoulder.

And he actually did it.

They didn't care at all about the many people present.

Wen Zhining's voice faltered, and the director opposite her also looked at Ke Guidu.

"Gui Du is still so clingy to Ning Ning. He was the same at the wrap party last time, following Ning Ning around the whole time and even drinking for her." The director said with a smile, "Ning Ning, you've found a good artist. She's obedient and sensible."

Ke Guidu smugly lifted his eyelids and looked at Wen Zhining.

Seeing this, the others simply remarked that the two had a really good relationship and went back to doing other things.

Just as Ke Guidu was about to wrap his arms around her waist from behind, she turned around and gave him a warning look.

He slowly withdrew his hand, reluctantly.

Angie, seeing this, immediately stepped forward and said, "Teacher Ke, please move away. How can you do this? This is not a good thing. If we get photographed, people will say that you two are having an affair."

Upon hearing this, Wen Zhining and the director burst out laughing.

Ke Guidu wouldn't even spare a glance, pursing his lips as he tentatively reached out his hand again.
