Huayu 2007: Starting with fleecing the "Fairy Sisters"

"A big production has nothing to do with whether it can be broadcast."

Wu Wei looked at Yang Mi and tentatively asked, "You've been filming for over four months, the script must be worn out by now, didn't you notice any problems with the plot?"

Hearing him say that, Yang Mi thought about it for a moment, and her expression changed slightly.

Wu Wei immediately understood what was going on and continued, "If the show can't be broadcast, then all your efforts these past few days will be in vain. You'll get nothing but a little pay, and your fame won't increase at all because of this show."

Yang Mi opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but found herself speechless.

"And my film..."

Wu Wei said confidently, "Although your role isn't large, I can guarantee that every second you spend in it will be effective screen time. Once the movie is released, your fame will definitely see a positive boost."

Yang Mi was silent for a moment, then said, "Why should I believe you?"

"You don't have to believe me."

Wu Wei smiled calmly: "But now, an opportunity is presented to you. You only need to spare two days during your winter break to gain far more fame than you would have earned in four months of hard work!"

"Furthermore," Wu Wei added, "if you act in it as a cameo, it won't affect your commercial value at all."

His voice was deep and magnetic, and with the added persuasive power of the "Golden Voice Potion," it possessed a magical quality that made people unconsciously want to believe him.

Yang Mi found herself actually persuaded by his words.

She lowered her head and thought for a moment, then looked up and said, "I need to talk to my agent about this first."

"Of course."

Wu Wei nodded, took a file folder out of his bag and handed it over: "This is the script, you can take it back and take a look."

Yang Mi took it and flipped through it casually: "Okay, let's exchange phone numbers, I'll get back to you later."

……

On December 20th, Zhou Bichang's new album was officially released.

On the same day, two albums, "Now" and "Wow," were released simultaneously, an unprecedented move in the Chinese music scene.

Zhou Bichang went all out, flying to three cities—Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Beijing—in a single day to promote her new album.

The song "The Most Beautiful Expectation" that Wu Wei wrote for her is included in the album "Now".

The first single from "Now," titled "Liuyang River 2008," had already been released on radio and online, but the second single, "The Most Beautiful Expectation," only made its official debut today.

At the press conferences in the three cities, she gave a special performance of the song "The Most Beautiful Expectation".

"I embrace love when I wake from my dream..."

The beautiful melody, the heartfelt lyrics, and Zhou Bichang's delicate performance captivated the audience.

Fans who bought the album also shared their thoughts online.

Almost everyone agrees that "The Most Beautiful Expectation" is the best song on both albums.

With the support of Zhou Bichang's huge fan base, "The Most Beautiful Expectation" suddenly appeared in the TOP10 of various music charts at noon that day.

As a lyricist and composer, Wu Wei naturally garnered considerable attention.

In particular, Zhou Bichang mentions his name at almost every promotional event: "This song was written by my good friend Wu Wei. He is truly a very talented person..."

As a result, Wu Wei's previous three songs experienced another surge in popularity and ringtone downloads.

Wu Wei sat in his dormitory, looking at the Baidu MP3 rankings on his computer screen, in a pretty good mood.

"People Like Me" remains at number one on the charts.

"What's Wrong?" and "Mercury", which had previously dropped to fifth and eleventh respectively, have rebounded to third and fifth place respectively.

The second place went to the currently popular "The Most Beautiful Expectation".

In the evening, "The Most Beautiful Expectation" surged to number one at an astonishing speed, directly dethroning "A Person Like Me" which had dominated the charts for nearly two months.

Wu Wei couldn't help but sigh: Zhou Bichang's popularity is really fierce at this time.

Judging from the songs themselves, "The Most Beautiful Expectation" is actually not as good as "A Person Like Me", but with Zhou Bichang's incredible popularity, it still managed to climb to the top of the charts.

However, he was not discouraged at all.

After all, this song can also be considered one of his songs.

Moreover, according to the contract, the better Zhou Bichang's song sold and the more ringtone downloads it received, the more money he, as the lyricist and composer, would receive.

Wu Wei picked up his phone and sent Zhou Bichang a text message: "Congratulations on your new song reaching the top! May your new album sell like hotcakes!"

Around 10 p.m., Zhou Bichang called back, her voice filled with undisguised exhaustion: "Finally finished... I'm so tired today."

"Flying to three places in one day is really tiring."

Wu Wei smiled and said, "But the new album is doing so well, it's all worth it."

"That's all thanks to you."

Zhou Bichang said sincerely, "If it weren't for your song 'The Most Beautiful Expectation,' my album wouldn't be doing so well. I'll treat you to dinner when I have time!"

"Okay, I've got it."

The two chatted for a few more minutes before hanging up.

Wu Weigang was about to put his phone down when it vibrated again.

It was a text message sent by Yang Mi.

Did you write Zhou Bichang's new song "The Most Beautiful Expectation"?

Wu Wei typed back: "Yeah, what's up?"

A few seconds later, Yang Mi replied: "Okay, I'll take the cameo role. When do we sign the contract?"

Wu Wei stared at the screen, completely bewildered.

Are these two things related?

At this moment, he suddenly remembered that in his previous life, Yang Mi and Zhou Bichang seemed to be very close friends.

Back when Zhou Bichang was in the final of "I Am a Singer", she was prepared to sing Yang Mi's world-famous song "The Power of Love", but unfortunately she didn't get to sing it in the end.

Moreover, Yang Mi herself has said that she is a fan of Zhou Bichang and even voted for her during the 05 Super Girl competition.

So... that's why she was willing to accept it?

Wu Wei was both amused and exasperated.

If I had known it would be like this, it would have been much better to have Zhou Bichang talk to her directly.

He replied, "Okay, I'll bring the contract to you tomorrow."

……

The next day, accompanied by her agent Zeng Jia, Yang Mi readily signed the contract.

After signing, she capped her pen and looked up at Wu Wei: "Do you know Zhou Bichang?"

"We know each other," Wu Wei smiled, "and we have a pretty good relationship."

"Then could you introduce me to her another day?"

"Sure, she just said she was going to treat me to dinner, I'll bring you along."

A happy light flashed in Yang Mi's eyes, and she said cheerfully, "Okay, it's settled then!"

Wu Wei couldn't help but smile slightly.

With this, the all-star puzzle of "First Love" is complete!
