Huayu 2007: Starting with fleecing the "Fairy Sisters"

Wu Wei was prepared to completely dispel his concerns: "If Anle's box office revenue does not reach 1000 million after the movie is released, then I will personally make up the shortfall."

"In other words, Mr. Jiang, if you invest in my movie, even at the very worst, you'll earn at least 700 million."

Wu Wei's tone was calm yet firm: "As far as I know, 'Secret' has been released in many parts of Asia, and it seems that Anle has only earned about 600 million or 700 million so far, which is more than 'Secret' has earned."

Upon hearing Wu Wei's words, Jiang Zhiqiang's eyebrows twitched involuntarily.

The others in the conference room looked surprised and immediately began whispering among themselves.

Having worked in the film industry for so many years, this was the first time they had ever seen such a betting method.

"Of course," Wu Wei continued, "if Anle's share exceeds 1000 million, I will take a portion of the excess. The more it exceeds, the higher my share will be. If it exceeds 2000 million, I can take up to 60% of the excess."

Jiang Zhiqiang narrowed his eyes slightly, feeling quite surprised.

More than 2000 million?

This kid really dares to dream!

According to him, Anle's share of the box office is at least 30 million, so the film's total box office must be at least 200 million!

What does two hundred million mean?

The Hollywood blockbuster "Transformers," released this summer, only grossed 2.91 million yuan at the box office.

It's simply unbelievable that a low-budget domestic youth film could gross over 200 million yuan!

However, whether or not it reaches 200 million is not actually important to him.

Regardless of the box office results, he's guaranteed to make a profit.

As a businessman, he had no reason not to sign the contract.

"Young people have guts!"

Jiang Zhiqiang looked at Wu Wei, his tone tinged with admiration: "No wonder Jackie Chan thinks so highly of you. We at Anle will sign this agreement with you."

Wu Wei finally felt relieved, but he remained calm on the surface: "President Jiang, this film will not disappoint you. Anle will gain much more than you imagine."

"I hope so."

Jiang Zhiqiang leaned back and said seriously, "Now, let's talk about the specifics."

"First of all, it's the director's problem. I know you wrote the script, and you must already have many scenes in your mind, but becoming a director is not an easy thing."

"So, I'm going to assign you an executive director. You'll both be credited as directors, with you listed first and him second. What do you think?"

"Sure, no problem," Wu Wei readily agreed.

His directing skills are only 15 points, making him a complete novice. He can't even make a good short video, let alone a movie.

He had already planned to find an assistant director to help him, but now that Jiang Zhiqiang had offered, it saved him the trouble of looking for someone else.

"Another issue is the casting of the main characters."

As Jiang Zhiqiang spoke, his gaze swept over Wu Wei's face: "I noticed the female lead's name in your script is 'Liu Yifei.' Are you planning to cast her?"

"right."

Wu Wei nodded: "She had read part of the script before and was quite satisfied with the role, so she should agree. You can send someone to contact her."

"OK."

Jiang Zhiqiang continued, "What about the other roles? Do you have any ideas?"

"Not at the moment."

Wu Wei thought for a moment and said, "You can look for suitable actors first. I will also keep an eye out for them, but the final decision on the actors must be made by me."

"Can."

Jiang Zhiqiang readily agreed: "Anle will fully support you this time."

In any case, once the agreement is signed, they are guaranteed to make a profit.

As for the rest, let him do whatever he wants.

……

Next, the two sides discussed some specific details of the cooperation, talking until late at night.

After dinner, both parties signed a contract and a performance-based agreement.

Wu Wei let out a long sigh of relief, put away his contract and agreement, and said to Jiang Zhiqiang, "President Jiang, the movie should ideally be released in early June next year, so preparations need to be started as soon as possible, otherwise it will be too late."

"Don't worry," Jiang Zhiqiang smiled, "You don't need to worry about Anle's speed of work; it definitely won't cause any delays."

"That would be best."

Wu Wei stood up and shook hands with Jiang Zhiqiang.

……

It was past nine o'clock at night when I left Anle Company.

Wu Wei stood by the roadside, took a deep breath of the cool autumn air of Beijin, and felt refreshed.

At the same time, an overwhelming sense of excitement welled up inside me.

It's finally done.

His first film as both director and actor.

Moreover, Liu Yifei is very likely to play his female lead.

He was really looking forward to meeting her again.

……

Back in his dorm, Wu Wei leaned against his bed and glanced at the system panel.

……

Wu Wei frowned.

A performance score of 52 only reaches the average level of an actor.

They can manage to act in TV dramas, but they're completely inadequate for big-screen movies.

He didn't want his acting skills to drag down the entire movie.

I don't want to wait until years later when everyone reminisces about this classic, only to find the comments section filled with "Wu Wei's acting is terrible".

Your acting skills absolutely need to improve!

Thinking about this, a thought suddenly popped into Wu Wei's mind.

I can audit classes at the Beijing Film Academy!

The Beijing Film Academy is located just south of the University of Science and Technology of China, only two kilometers away, less than a half-hour walk.

Moreover, at that time, universities were basically open to the public and management was not strict, so large lectures could be audited at will.

He could easily audit classes at the Beijing Film Academy, and after that, he could exchange ideas and learn from acting students and even teachers. The effect would definitely be much better than staying in his dorm and figuring things out on his own.

and--

He could also take the opportunity to see if any of the students were suitable for other roles in the film.

For youth campus films, you should cast people who are truly young.

Just do it.

The next morning, Wu Wei got up, went to the cafeteria to buy breakfast, and ate as he left the school gate, heading towards the Beijing Film Academy.
