Huayu 2007: Starting with fleecing the "Fairy Sisters"

At 3 p.m., all departments were ready.

"Action!"

As the clapperboard fell, the camera focused on Liu Yifei under the blazing sun.

Wielding two daggers, she fought two opponents single-handedly, her movements swift and agile, each move powerful and decisive.

She looked completely different from how weak she was this morning!

Finally, she finished beautifully with a difficult move.

"Cut! Perfect!"

Rob Minkoff excitedly raised his hand: "This is exactly how I imagined it to feel! Speed! Power! Perfect! That's it!"

The tense atmosphere instantly melted away, and the staff all breathed a sigh of relief.

The immense pressure in Liu Yifei's heart instantly dissipated, as if a huge burden had been lifted from her shoulders.

She let out a long sigh of relief, feeling the coolness emanating from the fever-reducing patch inside her clothes, and her gaze unconsciously drifted to the figure standing in the group of extras.

Wu Weizheng smiled at her, his eyes filled with undisguised joy. When he saw her looking over, he even gave her a thumbs up.

Liu Yifei's lips involuntarily curled upwards, and then she mouthed to him from afar, "Thank you."

Wu Wei nodded and mouthed to her, "Good luck!"

At the same time, the system light screen popped up in front of his eyes.

[Helping Liu Yifei overcome the heat and escape her predicament on set]

A chill, far more intense than when I brought her barbecue before, instantly swept through my entire body.

What excited him even more was that he also obtained a special item.

[Power Pill: After consumption, the strength of all parts of the host's body will be greatly enhanced, and the host's physical strength will be increased accordingly based on the enhanced strength]

Holy crap, all parts!

Wu Wei's eyes shone.

This is really good stuff!

As expected, the rewards for a high excitement level are awesome!

He couldn't wait to try it and see how it worked.

With some time before the next scene, Wu Wei quietly left the set and found a secluded corner.

He took the Power Pill out of the system and swallowed it in one gulp.

A warm current gradually flowed from his lower abdomen to his limbs and bones.

One minute later, it was all over.

Wu Wei felt his previously heavy body become incredibly light, and his body was filled with power!

Without saying a word, he immediately lay down on the ground and started doing push-ups.

He used to find push-ups quite strenuous, but now it's like playing around.

I did thirty in one go without even breaking a sweat.

"As expected of anything produced by the system, it's always top-notch!"

Wu Wei did not get up from the ground, but instead put one hand behind his back and tried to do a one-handed push-up.

He couldn't do any of these things before, but now he can easily lift his body up!

"That's amazing!"

Wu Wei did several one-handed push-ups in a row, then stood up and curiously pinched the muscles on his arm.

Although it doesn't look much different on the surface, it has become much harder inside than before, and it's as hard as a block of iron when you exert force on it!

He then pinched other parts of his body.

Thighs, calves, buttocks... it's the same all over the body.

Even what men care about most...

This is absolutely amazing!

He also discovered that his physique had increased by 5 points, and now it was 76 points!

Wu Wei excitedly shut down the system and jogged lightly back to the film set.

……

The subsequent filming went much more smoothly than he had imagined.

After recovering from the effects of the high temperature, Liu Yifei quickly returned to her previous state and level, and even improved.

Whether it's action scenes or dramatic scenes, the performance is commendable.

The director either aims for "one take" or "guaranteeing one take."

The progress that fell behind in the morning was quickly caught up.

The atmosphere on set improved as the scenes were filmed smoothly.

"Cut! Great! That's a good take! Everyone, call it a day!"

With the director's command, the day's filming came to an end.

Liu Yifei immediately turned to look at Wu Wei.

The two locked eyes.

Since her mother had just returned to the set and was standing right next to her, she dared not make any other movements.

Just watching from afar.

Then, the two of them turned their heads at the same time, as if on cue.

It was as if their glance was merely a chance encounter.

Liu Xiaoli frowned.

She keenly caught the fleeting smile that had just crossed her daughter's lips.

Following the direction of her gaze, I discovered that it was actually that toad extra from before!

She was in a very good mood.

My daughter was in an unexpectedly good mood in the afternoon. She not only completed all her scenes smoothly, but also received unanimous praise from the director and staff, which gave her a huge surprise.

However, her good mood is now clouded over.

After returning to the RV, Liu Yifei immediately took off her costume.

Liu Xiaoli helped put the costumes into storage bags—they would be handed over to the costume department later.

At that moment, she noticed something stuck to her daughter's fair back.

"Sissi, what are those things stuck to your body?"

Liu Xiaoli reached out and touched it, her expression somewhat puzzled.

Liu Yifei was taking off her soaked underwear when she heard this. Without thinking too much, she casually replied, "It's a fever-reducing patch. It feels cool and refreshing after you put it on, which is very comfortable. I've put them all over my body. I'll rely on them for filming this afternoon."

"Fever-reducing patches?"

Liu Xiaoli asked curiously, "It works that well? Was it distributed by the production crew?"

Upon hearing this, Liu Yifei felt a pang of anxiety, realizing that things seemed to be going badly.

However, her mother was her personal assistant, so she couldn't hide this from her.

So she had no choice but to bite the bullet and say, "No, it was... given to me by Wu Wei."

"Wu Wei? Who?"

As Liu Xiaoli spoke, a name suddenly flashed into her mind: "Is it that extra who told you jokes before?"

"Um."

Liu Yifei nodded somewhat guiltily.

"I knew it!"

A surge of anger welled up inside Liu Xiaoli: "No wonder he'd been so quiet these past few days! Turns out he was plotting something! Taking advantage of my absence, he pulled this 'offering help in my time of need' stunt! I never imagined this toad could be so cunning!"

"mom!"

Hearing the word "toad," Liu Yifei felt inexplicably uncomfortable. She unusually retorted to her mother, "Don't say that. He's not a toad. He's a top student from National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, much smarter than me. He's working part-time to support himself as an extra on the film set. Besides, what's wrong with him trying to help me? If it weren't for these fever-reducing patches, I don't know how embarrassing I would have been this afternoon!"

"He's being kind? There are so many people on set, everyone's hot, why didn't he give you a ride? He just had ulterior motives!"

Liu Xiaoli grew angrier as she spoke, and snorted coldly, "I'm going to find the group leader and fire him right now!"

"Mom, what are you doing?!"

Liu Yifei immediately grabbed her mother's arm to stop her from leaving, saying emotionally, "Someone helped me, and you want to fire them? Is that reasonable? And if this gets out, my reputation will be completely ruined. What will people think of me? Ingratitude, bullying others! How am I supposed to act in the future?"

Upon hearing this, Liu Xiaoli instantly calmed down.

She would do anything to protect her daughter, but she couldn't let it affect her daughter's image and future.

Seeing her mother hesitate, Liu Yifei quickly added, "Mom, as long as you don't get him fired, I promise I'll never accept anything from him again, okay?"

Liu Xiaoli turned to look at her daughter, took a deep breath, and said seriously, "I can agree to that, but you have to keep your word. You're not allowed to have any contact with him again, or I'll have him fired that very day!"

"understood."

Liu Yifei nodded, her heart finally at ease.

But his eyes revealed sadness and disappointment.

She understood her mother's reaction.

While it might seem like an overreaction, there are far too many people in this industry who harbor ill intentions and ulterior motives towards her. It's always good to be more vigilant and cautious.

only……

I feel I've let him down a bit.

Looking at the large bag of fever-reducing patches on the table, Liu Yifei felt inexplicably sad.

She knew he wasn't the kind of person her mother thought he was.

She could sense his sincerity and care for her.

However, in order to prevent him from being kicked out of the film crew, and also to avoid arguing with her mother—who had sacrificed so much for her since childhood—she didn't want to make her angry or sad.

So she had no choice but to compromise.

Liu Xiaoli sighed as she looked at her daughter's expression.

My daughter is still too young.

She looked down at the large bag on the table, which was full of boxes of fever-reducing patches.

She wanted to throw them all away, but after thinking about it, she ultimately didn't reach out.
