After the internet was disconnected, I connected to the magic world.

Holding a dozen or so strands of magic power in his hand, Lin Ze always felt it wasn't enough.

A single spell like Light of the Gods can last for an hour, but if you really want to cast Fireball, it'll be gone in no time. It's like a game console that runs out of mana, it's not fun to play anymore.

Relying on the stray cats and dogs in the yard to accumulate wealth won't increase much even in ten days or half a month; it's too slow.

"We need to find a place with a high concentration of spiritual energy."

Lin Ze put the keys in his pocket and went out.

The magic array of the Divine Transformation Technique remained open, and he could vaguely sense the spiritual energy points floating around him, knowing exactly where they were dense and sparse.

First, we wandered to the busiest commercial street, where people were packed together in a sea of people.

However, the spiritual energy points were sparse and scattered, not much stronger than at home.

Most people are numb when they go to work or go shopping, with little expression on their faces and no emotional fluctuations, so naturally they don't radiate much mental energy.

After swaying for more than half an hour, I hadn't managed to gather many strands.

Lin Ze walked along the curb, turned the corner, and looked up to see the sign for the First Municipal Hospital, the largest tertiary hospital in the area.

As soon as he reached the front door, his eyes lit up.

The spiritual energy points here are more than three times denser than those on the commercial street!

The air was filled with countless tiny, transparent dots, like a light snowfall, all of which were the spiritual energy dissipated by people.

"What a treasure trove!"

Lin Ze stepped inside.

The further you go in, the denser the lights become. The scene at the entrance of the emergency building is the most exaggerated, with people crying, shouting, and pacing around in a panic.

A mix of emotions swirled together, and the dissipated spiritual energy was so dense it almost turned into mist.

He found an empty bench and sat down, pretending to be scrolling through his phone, while secretly turning the magic array's power to maximum.

An invisible suction force spread out, and the surrounding spiritual energy points, as if attracted by a magnet, swirled toward him.

It entered the magic array in the sea of consciousness and quickly refined itself into pale purple magic power for storage.

The speed was more than ten times faster than in the yard.

I sat for two hours and accumulated more magic power than the previous day.

Lin Ze got interested and decided to wander around the hospital floor by floor.

The pediatric ward is the fiercest, with children crying and adults anxious, experiencing the greatest emotional fluctuations and the strongest mental intensity.

The scene outside the intensive care unit was no different; the anxiety and grief of the family members all turned into scattered spiritual energy.

Even next to the arguing doctor-patient family members, the light spots were denser than elsewhere.

The more excited one's emotions are, the more mental energy is dissipated.

These are all dissipated energies floating in the air, perfectly clean, without any human memories or emotions, so the purity of the magic refined from them is absolutely perfect.

Lin Ze wasn't greedy; he only collected what was floating around and didn't try to absorb it by getting close to people's faces, much less actively steal their spiritual energy.

That little bit of what he had left was enough for him.

By afternoon, he had accumulated nearly twenty strands of magic power in his sea of consciousness, more than all his previous reserves combined.

While taking a break, he came across a post on the forum about mage level certification.

He hadn't taken it seriously before, thinking that as a beginner, certification was meaningless. Now, having accumulated a lot of magic and possessing a purity advantage, he suddenly...

I've got an idea.

The post says that the verification process is very simple. There is an entry point in the personal center. Just enter a wisp of magic power, and the system will automatically measure the quality and determine the level.

Once you've verified the corresponding level, you'll unlock free spell access of the same tier, and the trading area will also have more features available.

"Give it a try."

Lin Ze opened his personal center and found "Professional Level Certification" in the corner, then selected Mage Certification.

A small authentication circle pops up in the center of the screen, prompting you to enter your magic power.

Following the instructions, he drew a wisp of magic and sent it in.

The magic circle rotated for two seconds, and the result popped up:

[Magic Purity Test: Excellent]

[Energy Level: Tier 2]

[Certification Result: Level 2 Official Mage]

[The corresponding permissions have been unlocked, and you can receive official spell models of Tier 2 and below for free]

Lin Ze was completely stunned.

Second order?

I've barely scratched the surface of becoming a mage, and I haven't even mastered a proper first-tier spell yet. How did I suddenly become a second-tier mage?

He quickly looked up the certification instructions and finally understood what was going on.

It turns out that after the widespread adoption of the magic network, low-level mages had already become industrialized.

Ninety-nine percent of novice mages don't refine their own magic power at all; they rely entirely on drawing it directly from the magic network.

The extracted magic power has low purity, and the quality of magic power among mages of the same rank is roughly the same.

Therefore, certification is based on the quality of magic power; a mage is considered to be of a certain rank based on the quality of their magic power.

What is his magic?

It was refined from pure spiritual energy bit by bit, and its purity was much higher than that of an ordinary first-tier mage, directly reaching the standard line of second-tier.

"So, what I produce in this magic-free world is considered a premium product over there?"

Lin Ze couldn't help but laugh.

I originally thought it would take a long time, but thanks to my purity advantage, I jumped directly to the second-tier mage.

Once the permissions are granted, I can see a lot more things immediately.

All public posts, information, and spellbooks below the second tier are open to him.

"I made a profit."

He wasn't in a hurry to leave; he simply sat down on the bench and opened the spell library.

Freebies are free, why not take advantage of them?

Tier 0 spells are all basic life skills, including: Light, Glimmer, Cleanse, Ignite, Dry, Remove Rust, Purify Water...

There are about 15 or 16 different kinds, all of them practical.

The first tier has proper offense and defense: five basic attacks: Fireball, Wind Blade, Water Ball, Earth Wall, and Acid Splash.

In addition, there are Lightness Technique, Night Vision Technique, Silent Technique, Magic Shield, and Hemostasis Technique, making a total of twelve.

The official free second-tier spells are few, only five: Fireball, Wind Shield, Water Arrow, Earth Spike, and Gale. Their power is doubled, but their mana cost is also doubled.

Just these official ones, there are more than thirty kinds in total.

Lin Ze did not stop.

He remembered that various mage academies and arcane research institutes often offered free trial spell lessons to recruit students and gain fame.

Scrolling through the sections one by one, there were quite a few.

Some colleges use modified versions of first-tier spells to attract students, such as Focusing Light, which can concentrate light into thin lines that can burn wood.

There are also improved cleaning techniques with even stronger stain removal capabilities.

Some research institutes conduct niche research, and since no one buys obscure spells, they simply release them for free to gain prestige, such as insect repelling spells, plant growth-inducing spells, and amplification spells.

There are also minor spells modified by folk sorcerers, such as the Leg Flicking Technique, which makes kicking someone more powerful by wrapping the legs in wind element, and these are also shared for free.

Lin Ze accepted all comers, as long as it was free and there were no restrictions on permissions; he would move on to the next one he met.

After going through all sorts of things, there were more than ten more varieties.

There are a total of forty-four spell models, neatly arranged in my personal storage space, covering everything from daily life to offense and defense, from serious to unorthodox.

"Cool."

Lin Ze rubbed his hands together, feeling quite pleased with himself.

If any other newcomer had collected this much, it would have taken them at least several hundred or even a thousand magic coins. But he, relying on purity, skipped a rank and didn't spend a single penny, yet he amassed a whole warehouse full.

He wasn't in a hurry to try them one by one. He only had twenty strands of magic power, and it would take five strands to release a large fireball. He couldn't last long.

Memorize all the models first, and practice slowly when you have more magic power.

As it was getting dark, he stood up and walked home.

This trip to the hospital was worthwhile; I not only gained magic power but also acquired the status of a second-tier mage for free.
