My strength increases by one percent every day; I can destroy stars with my bare hands.

The matter of the demons had just ended when Nangong Zhan came to report.

"My lord, people from the Black Bird Merchant Guild have come to see you, saying they have something extremely urgent to report."

Li Xuancang was deeply impressed by the Xuan Niao Merchant Guild, as it was the first merchant guild to sell warhorses to him.

"Bring the person here."

Before long, Nangong Zhan arrived with a tall, shrewd man in his eyes.

"Dong Linghui of the Xuan Niao Merchant Guild greets the Garrison Commander."

No need for formalities.

Li Xuancang gently raised his hand, gesturing for Dong Linghui to take a seat.

After sitting down, Dong Linghui hurriedly said, "My lord, the Xuan Niao Merchant Guild, while trading on the grasslands, discovered that the Black Wolf Tribe is mobilizing troops and is likely to attack Ganquan County. I dare not delay and have come to report to you."

Upon hearing this, a sharp glint flashed in Li Xuancang's eyes.

Li Xuancang had heard of the Black Wolf tribe, which was an extremely brutal tribe.

They frequently raided Liangzhou and traveling caravans, and even targeted some grassland tribes.

They even ate human people, calling them "two-legged sheep," and their methods were extremely cruel.

"Thank you for coming to report. From now on, the Xuan Niao Merchant Guild will have priority in passing through all the passes in Gan Quan County, and the tax revenue will be reduced by another 20%."

This news was very important, and Li Xuancang immediately rewarded the Xuan Niao Merchant Guild handsomely.

"Thank you, sir."

Dong Linghui was overjoyed and hurriedly expressed his gratitude.

After Dong Linghui left, Li Xuancang's face darkened.

"Summon Ouyang De."

When Li Xuancang summoned him, Ouyang De arrived quickly.

"Greetings, Your Excellency."

Ouyang De bowed respectfully to Li Xuancang.

"I have received information that the Black Wolf tribe is stirring up trouble and plotting something sinister. You must immediately take men to investigate."

Li Xuancang wouldn't make a big fuss based on Dong Linghui's one-sided story; he needed to confirm whether the information was true.

"Yes, ma'am."

Ouyang De immediately turned and left, taking several martial arts experts with him.

After careful investigation, Ouyang De confirmed that the Black Wolf Tribe was indeed mobilizing troops and immediately returned to Ganquan County.

"Thump, thump thump thump..."

The dull drumbeats echoed throughout the military camp, and all the soldiers immediately put down their tasks and quickly assembled at the drill ground.

Li Xuancang stood on the command platform, followed by a group of generals including Nangong Zhan and Ouyang De.

Li Xuancang was very satisfied with the soldiers who quickly assembled and formed square formations.

To achieve this result in such a short period of training is already quite impressive.

After everyone counted off, they all stood up straight without whispering or making any noise.

"The grassland tribes are invading. The first and third battalions will stay behind, and the rest of you will come with me out of the city to meet the enemy."

Destruction is always easier than construction. Even if we win a major battle within Ganquan's territory, it will cause irreparable damage to Ganquan County.

Li Xuancang wouldn't wait for the grassland people to come to his door; he would take the initiative to defend against the enemy from beyond his borders.

"We'll depart in half an hour. Go down and prepare."

Li Xuancang gave everyone half an hour to prepare, and everyone hurriedly dispersed.

"What? The steppe people are invading! Can I stop them?"

"Why go out of the city to fight? Isn't that like throwing an egg against a rock?"

"The steppe people are all cavalry, swift as the wind. How can we possibly be a match for them in a battle outside the city?"

"..."

Everyone was worried and questioned Li Xuancang's decision.

Most of them were new recruits who had never been on the battlefield, and they were filled with fear.

"Haha, I've finally waited for this moment."

"I want to kill the enemy, gain merit, and get everything I want."

"Come on! Come on! I can't wait!"

"..."

Some brave souls, far from being afraid, were actually eager to try their luck.

"Set off!"

Half an hour later, the army set off in a grand procession.

The force of over six thousand men was formidable, with the Wu Kui Battalion being the main force in this battle.

"What's going on? Why has the army been mobilized?"

"What happened? Why did the army leave the city?"

"Go quickly and find out what happened."

"..."

All factions were alarmed and eager to know why the army had mobilized in such a grand manner.

The army marched at breakneck speed and arrived at Xuanling Post Station five days later.

This place is close to the border and is the only way for the grasslands to enter Ganquan County.

At this time, news of the Black Wolf Tribe's military expedition also reached the hands of various forces, and they immediately knew why Li Xuancang had sent troops.

"Foolish! To abandon the advantage of the city and go out to fight is simply overestimating our own strength!"

"Li Xuancang is young and impetuous, far too arrogant and conceited."

"How can these thousands of troops be a match for the steppe cavalry? Ganquan County is in danger."

"..."

Li Xuancang's decision to abandon the city and take the initiative to go out and fight was difficult for all parties to understand.

To engage steppe cavalry in the wilderness is tantamount to suicide.

In the past, when faced with invasions from the nomadic tribes, the only solution was to defend the city to the death.

With its high walls and thick fortifications, Ganquan County prevented the nomadic cavalry from fully utilizing their advantages.

They are not good at tackling tough battles, so they will naturally give up in time.

As for the grassland people attacking other cities in Ganquan County, that was not within the scope of everyone's consideration.

Everyone was worried that if Li Xuancang and his army of several thousand were wiped out, the defenses of Ganquan County would be insufficient and the grassland people might be able to break through in one fell swoop.

"Ignorant of the immensity of heaven and earth, he sought his own death."

"If we suffer a major defeat and lose Ganquan County, the imperial court will not let Li Xuancang off the hook."

"Li Xuancang is arrogant and conceited; he will never have a good end."

"..."

Upon receiving the news, the Liangzhou army was overjoyed and eagerly awaited Li Xuancang's defeat.

Even if Li Xuancang survives this ordeal, he will still be punished by the imperial court after this major defeat.

No one believed that Li Xuancang could win.

They had dealt with the grassland people for many years and knew how formidable they were.

On the wilderness, the iron cavalry of the steppe can crush everything.

The Black Wolf tribe's tens of thousands of iron cavalry trampled the mountains and rivers, forcefully knocking on the gate.

"Hahaha, the coward of Great Yan actually dared to leave the city, it's truly a stroke of luck!"

"Slaughter them all, leaving no one alive."

"Eliminate this arrogant army and take the opportunity to storm into Ganquan County."

"..."

The Black Wolf tribe erupted in thunderous cheers, their faces revealing cruel, sinister smiles and greed.

They had long coveted Ganquan County, but Ganquan County had always remained hidden, leaving them with no way to do anything about it.

Now that Li Xuancang has taken the initiative to lead his troops out of the city, they see it as a suicide mission.

"Speed up."

The crowd's eyes burned with fervor; they couldn't wait to storm into Ganquan County and seize its immense wealth.

"Set off for war."

On the other side, Li Xuancang did not wait in place. Instead, he led his army out of Ganquan County and took the initiative to attack the Black Wolf Tribe.

"Li Xuancang has gone mad, he's gone mad."

Everyone thought Li Xuancang had gone mad; what difference was there between this and suicide?

The opinions of the crowd could not sway Li Xuancang in the slightest.

He wanted to shock the world with one battle, to become famous by stepping over the corpses of the Black Wolf tribe.

The people of the Black Wolf tribe will also become stepping stones for his further advancement.
