Three times married to Yama

Chapter 25 The Ye Family

It seems that Xia Zheng knows something about Ye Heng.

I said to Xia Zheng, "He forgot many things after he died, but he remembered you the only one. I think you must be very important to him. Xia Zheng, tell me what you know."

Once Xia Zheng calmed down a bit, he finally revealed the story of Ye Heng's background.

Ye Heng's parents divorced when he was three years old. He lived with his father, but his father was not good at taking care of children and was idle all day long, leaving the children to be taken care of by his grandparents.

When Ye Heng was ten years old, his grandparents passed away, and his father took him to the city. However, his father had already remarried and started a new family.

Some people say that having a stepmother means having a stepfather, and this is perfectly exemplified in Ye Heng's case.

At a young age, Ye Heng had to cook for his father's family of four. His stepmother had given birth to a younger sister, and in addition to cooking and doing housework, he also had to take care of his sister.

In order to be able to go to school smoothly, he endured his father's temper and behaved submissively at his father's house, but he was still scolded by his father and stepmother, and was even kicked out of the house during the Chinese New Year.

"Where is Ye Heng's mother?" I asked.

When asked about Ye Heng's mother, Xia Zheng simply shook his head and said, "I don't know either. Ye Heng said he has never seen his mother as far back as he can remember."

I fell silent. Ye Heng had been dead for so long, yet his father didn't care at all or even look for him. But Ye Heng carried the power of familial attachment. If his attachment wasn't resolved, even spiritual healing power couldn't cure him.

"What did you mean when you said he was going to have a good life?" I continued to ask.

Xia Zheng immediately replied, "Although Ye Heng has never met his mother, she contacted him a few days ago, saying that she had become a wealthy woman after her divorce, and that she contacted Ye Heng to bring him back to her side."

"Ye Heng has suffered so much since childhood, and now he's finally about to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but... but I never expected..."

"I never imagined we would be separated by death."

After saying that, Xia Zheng covered her face and cried again. I could feel Xia Zheng's true feelings for Ye Heng.

To find out what happened to Ye Heng, I think we should go and see his family.

"Xia Zheng, do you know Ye Heng's address?" I asked him.

Xia Zheng wiped away his tears with his sleeve. He nodded at me firmly, "I know, I know. I went to his house to look for him before. He, he's such a big guy, but he lives on the balcony. In winter, even dogs can come in, but he can't."

"Master A-Yin, I'll take you to find his heartless family right now!"

As he spoke, he looked at Ye Heng, who had become a ghost, and the tears he had stopped flowing again. "Brother, don't have any more hope for your father. I hope you can fulfill your wish and be born into a loving family in your next life. You can have twice as much love in your next life as you didn't receive in this life."

Ye Heng's eyes were clear as he smiled and nodded at Xia Zheng.

"Okay, then you lead the way, we'll go there now," I said to Xia Zheng.

"good!"

With Xia Zheng, who knew Ye Heng well, we quickly found Ye Heng's home.

Xia Zheng went straight up and banged on the door. The person who opened the door was Ye Heng's half-sister, a high school girl named Ye Lin.

"Brother Xia Zheng, what brings you here?" Ye Lin was somewhat surprised to see Xia Zheng.

"I'm asking you, where's Ye Heng? Where's your brother?" Xia Zheng's face turned somewhat ferocious when he asked this question.

I patted Xia Zheng on the shoulder, telling him not to get so excited.

Xia Zheng took several deep breaths to calm himself down, but his behavior also puzzled Ye Lin.

She said, "Didn't my brother go to his biological mother's? He hasn't contacted us for several days and hasn't come back."

"You're lying!" Xia Zheng's eyes were bloodshot.

Ye Lin was startled by Xia Zheng's appearance. She quickly said, "I'm telling the truth. If you don't believe me, you can ask my dad if something happened to my brother. Is he alright?"

Ye Heng seems to like this younger sister. When he saw Ye Lin, he reached out to stroke her head, and his eyes softened.

"Linlin, who is it?" A man's voice came from inside the house.

Judging from the voice, it should be Ye Heng and Ye Lin's father, Ye Wenbo.

Xia Zheng didn't reply to Ye Lin. He went straight past Ye Lin into the house to find Ye Wenbai.

I gave Yun Fu a wink, signaling him to follow Xia Zheng inside, but I wasn't in a hurry to go in myself.

I smiled gently at Ye Lin. "Can I talk to you about Ye Heng?"

"Who are you?" Ye Lin asked warily.

My voice softened a bit. "Xia Zheng and I came together. He's also your brother's friend. We were worried about him because we couldn't get in touch with him, so we came uninvited. Please don't be angry."

Seeing how polite I was, Ye Lin's wariness lessened considerably. She looked towards the stairwell and said, "Let's talk there."

I nodded and went with Ye Lin to the window in the hallway. She said, "My name is Ye Lin. What's your name, sister?"

"Just call me Ah Yin."

Ye Lin: "Okay, Sister Yin, what do you want to ask about my brother?"

I looked behind Ye Lin, and there stood Ye Heng, looking at her tenderly.

I thought for a moment and asked, "Before Ye Heng went missing, was there anything strange about him, or anything he said to you? And was there anything about your family that seemed off?"

Upon hearing my words, Ye Lin lowered her eyes and began to think. I waited patiently, my gaze fixed on the view outside the window.

My gaze fell on a Maybach parked downstairs. A stylishly dressed woman got out of the car and walked toward the building.

Ye Heng came to my side, and he lowered his head sadly. "Master A Yin, have I caused you any trouble? I'm really sorry. Unfortunately, I don't have any reward to give you."

"It's no trouble at all. You can pay the fee I'm asking for," I replied.

I'm going to test the power of spiritual healing on Ye Heng. He's my experimental target, so isn't this another kind of reward?

"Sister Yin, who are you talking to?" Ye Lin suddenly asked.

I didn't answer her question, "What are you thinking about?"

Ye Lin frowned. "It doesn't seem like anything's wrong. My brother was very happy a few days before he went missing. He said he was finally going to see his mother. My dad was also very happy. He cooked us big meals every day for those few days."

"What's the relationship like between your dad and your brother?"

Ye Lin lowered her head, feeling slightly guilty. She hesitated for a while before saying, "My dad... he doesn't really like my brother."

According to Xia Zheng, a father who lets Ye Heng sleep on a cold balcony in winter, where even dogs can get in but Ye Heng can't, would cook a big meal for his son?

Could it be that Ye Heng was leaving, and he suddenly had a change of heart?
