Three times married to Yama

Chapter 108 Promise Her

"Achoo!"

I sneezed violently. Was someone cursing me or someone thinking about me?

I slept well last night, and I woke up feeling refreshed. I was about to wash up and go downstairs for breakfast.

When she looked in the mirror, she saw the red marks on her neck and felt a little annoyed. She secretly complained about Yan Jinyue in her heart.

I took out a white silk scarf and tied it around my neck, making a pretty bow at the back of my neck, because I wanted to look beautiful.

Xia Zheng was already waiting outside when I went out.

Today I'm wearing a fitted white silk dress, paired with a bow-tie scarf around my neck. Hmm, I look very gentle and approachable.

"Master, aren't you hot wearing a scarf around your neck on such a hot day?" Xia Zheng asked me curiously while eating an ice pop.

I glanced at Xia Zheng and said, "What do you know? This is called fashion."

I can't exactly say that Yan Jinyue sucked a big red bump on my neck, can I?

Xia Zheng nodded, seemingly understanding, then took out an ice pop and handed it to me. "Master, want an ice pop?"

"If I don't eat it, I'll feel like an ice pop myself." I said, indicating my refusal.

Xia Zheng looked behind me, grinned broadly, and asked, "Mr. Yan, do you want some?"

A slender, fair hand reached out from behind me and naturally took the popsicle.

"Thank you," Yan Jinyue's voice rang out, followed by the sound of a package being torn open.

When I turned around, I saw Yan Jinyue with an ice pop in his mouth. My lips twitched, and I felt that it was quite out of character for him.

Yan Jinyue ate her popsicle, her gaze falling on the silk scarf around my neck.

"Why are you wearing a scarf? Aren't you hot?" Yan Jinyue said softly, raising her hand to gently tug at the bow on my neck.

The scarf slipped down so smoothly that it revealed a conspicuous red mark on her neck.

I was immediately startled and blurted out without thinking, "Yan Jinyue, are you just being nosy?!"

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to."

At that moment, Xia Zheng stared in astonishment at my neck. His gaze shifted back and forth between me and Yan Jinyue before finally revealing a knowing smile.

"Wishing Master and Mr. Yan a healthy baby soon! May they have eight children in one pregnancy!" Xia Zheng bowed to Yan Jinyue and me, offering his blessings.

Me: "...You guys are insane!"

As I spoke, I pushed past them and walked toward the elevator, and I heard Xia Zheng and Yan Jinyue's voices behind me.

"Master seems to be in a bad mood today," Xia Zheng said, his voice filled with doubt.

Yan Jinyue: "Maybe it's just morning grumpiness."

I really don't want to talk to them anymore. I'm in a bad mood, don't they know that?

I retied the scarf. This time I was more wary of Yan Jinyue, lest he get the urge to touch me again.

After the three of them finished breakfast together, they booked their return tickets.

After returning, Yan Jinyue mysteriously disappeared again, along with the boy and girl.

Moreover, this disappearance lasted quite a long time, a full two months. During those two months, I only took on a few simple commissions and spent most of my time researching the Hundred Ghost Records.

However, they still haven't figured out anything.

But the reason so many people are interested in this Hundred Ghosts Record is certainly not entirely because of what is recorded in it; there must be other secrets as well.

That day, I was watching TV when I received a phone call from He Chu.

I only met He Chu once when we were in Changyue Village, and I never expected that she would contact me again.

She arrived in Xihu City and said she had something to discuss with me.

I agreed, after all, He Chu said she was a public servant, so I had to give her that much face.

Xia Zheng has already gone to school and only comes back when he doesn't have classes, so I went out alone this time.

When they arrived at the agreed-upon place, He Chu was already waiting.

She was dressed smartly, still sporting her signature short hair, and had a healthy tan. She looked radiant and full of energy.

"Officer He." I sat down in front of her and greeted her politely.

"Miss Lan."

When I saw He Chu again, her aura was somewhat different.

I took a gentle sniff, and I noticed a hint of ethereal beauty emanating from her.

It seems she's had some extraordinary encounters lately?

I asked, "What brings Officer He to see me?"

He Chu looked me over, then suddenly smiled and said, "I'm no longer a police officer, just call me by my name."

This surprised me a bit. Only a few months have passed, and she has already resigned?

However, I couldn't ask too many questions, so I just nodded, picked up the juice in front of me, and took a sip.

He Chu continued, "My current employer has transferred me to Xihu City, and I think we'll see each other often in the future."

"Oh?" I raised an eyebrow. "We'll see each other often?"

He Chu nodded and continued, "I'm currently in a classified unit, and I've recently been assigned a mission, but it's a bit tricky. I'd like to ask for your help."

I looked at her calmly. "I'm just an ordinary person. I can't help you."

He Chu stared intently at me, but I remained unmoved.

Finally, He Chu smiled, his eyes full of certainty, "Miss Lan, although we have only met once, I will never forget that night in Changyue Village."

"That's a bit ambiguous," I replied.

He Chu continued, "Now that I think about it carefully, there are many illogical things about your behavior that night. Also, I checked your father's background. He was a Taoist priest when he was young, known as Lan San."

I wasn't surprised; these things can indeed be found.

My dad swapped my birth date and time with Qin Zhi's. This method can only fool ghosts, not people.

Of course He Chu could find out about my and my father's background.

"As Lan San's daughter, how could you possibly be just an ordinary person?"

I sighed inwardly, feeling helpless. It's really hard to hide my identity, given how famous my father was back then.

Just as I was thinking about how to persuade or reject He Chu, my phone suddenly received a message from my dad.

Just three simple words: "Yes."

I gripped my phone tightly and turned to look around, not wanting to miss a single suspicious person.

I tried to find my dad in the crowd, but no matter how many times I looked, that familiar figure did not appear in my sight.

"Miss Lan, what are you looking for?" He Chu asked suspiciously.

At this moment, I remembered my father's words. He told me not to look for him. But is he by my side? How would he know what He Chu and I were talking about?

I have so many questions.

I shook my head at He Chu. "It's nothing. I agree to what you just mentioned, Miss He."

"Really?" He Chu's eyes lit up immediately.

"Um."

I'm not in a good mood right now, and He Chu noticed it too.

"If it's inconvenient for you right now, Miss Lan, I'll contact you another time," she asked tentatively.

I really wasn't in the mood to talk to her anymore, so I just went along with He Chu's suggestion.

"Just call me if you need any help," I told He Chu.

I don't know why my dad wanted me to agree to He Chu's request, but I know he wouldn't betray me. After thinking about it, I gave He Chu a talisman.

I said to her, "I roughly know what kind of organization you work for. Your job is very dangerous. Wearing this amulet can protect your life."

He Chu's expression hardened, and then he carefully took the amulet, solemnly replying to me, "Thank you, Miss Lan."

"Just call me Lan Yin."

"Then you can call me He Chu too."

……

After saying goodbye to He Chu, I wandered aimlessly through the streets, my mind still preoccupied with my father. As my emotions calmed down, my mood gradually stabilized.

Suddenly, a surprised voice rang out behind me.

"Lan Yin!"

I turned around and saw a petite and slender girl waving at me from the crowd, a surprised smile on her face.

But the moment I saw her, I was filled with shock.

"Lan Yin, it really is you!"

She jogged over to me, her eyes scanning me up and down. "You look so beautiful now! You're so different from when I saw you a few months ago!"

Of course it's different. Now we're in a big city. If I still looked like that creepy ghost, I'd scare people to death if I went out at night.

but……

What a coincidence!

"What are you doing here?"

"Qin Zhi".
