The two followed the path marked on the map toward the candy house.

After walking for about ten minutes, a cacophony of shouts and a loud crashing sound suddenly came from ahead.

"Someone's there!"

Huang Tang pulled Liu Lingqing aside and hid behind a tree.

Through the bushes, they saw an open area.

There stood a strange house.

The walls were made of chocolate, the windows of rock candy, the roof was covered with biscuits, and golden honey was flowing from the chimney.

Candy House!

But at this moment, a fierce battle is taking place in front of the candy store.

A dozen or so players are besieging two enormous creatures.

They were two giants, each over ten meters tall, their obese bodies resembling two moving hills.

A child wearing a dirty children's apron, holding a huge kitchen knife.

Another one wore a ribbon and hummed a strange lullaby.

The player's sword struck the giant, leaving only faint white marks!

A sharp-eyed player spotted Huang Tang and his companion hiding behind a tree. Their eyes lit up. "Come quick! Kill these two monsters, and we can get into the Candy House and get the treasure chest!"

Huang Tang did not move.

He looked at the candy house again.

The chocolates contained suspicious white objects, which upon closer inspection turned out to be human teeth and fingernails.

The lollipops stuck in the garden are actually skulls coated with syrup!

Liu Lingqing gasped, "This isn't a candy house, it's a human flesh house!"

Huang Tang opened the [Developer Mode] and looked at the two giants.

A prompt appears:

Cannibal: Hansel

[Characteristics: Wearing a child's apron and wielding a giant kitchen knife. Once abandoned in the forest, it has survived by eating people. Obsessed with sweets, it was lured here by a witch using a candy house.]

[Weakness: Conventional weapons are ineffective. Only the witch knows how to kill him.]

【Greet the Ogre】

[Characteristics: Wears a ribbon, her singing can trick players into eating poisoned candy. She was abandoned along with Hansel, and is even more cunning.]

[Weakness: Conventional weapons are ineffective. Only the witch knows how to kill her.]

Huang Tang frowned.

Can't kill him?

Those players are still attacking desperately, but they're completely wasting their energy!

"Stop fighting," he warned. "You can't kill them. It's against the rules."

Among the players, a bald man who seemed to be the leader turned around, his eyes fierce: "What do you know! They're about to die. You're trying to hoard the treasure chest for yourself, aren't you?"

"Exactly! Don't listen to him!" another player shouted. "Brothers, give it your all!"

Huang Tang shook his head, pulled Liu Lingqing, and turned to leave.

A mocking voice came from behind: "Coward! Get lost!"

Liu Lingqing was so angry that she turned around to yell at him, but Huang Tang stopped her.

"There's no need," he said. "Why bother arguing with a dead man?"

After the two walked away, a scream came from behind them.

Liu Lingqing turned around and saw a player being cut in two by the giant's kitchen knife.

She looked away and stopped talking.

……

Huang Tang opened the map he had received from Little Red Riding Hood's grandmother and pointed to a small dot on it.

"The ogre's home is here. Not far."

After walking for half an hour, the two came to a small village.

The village was dilapidated, with collapsed houses, overgrown weeds, and utterly desolate.

Only one household had smoke rising from its chimney.

The two walked over and, through the window, saw a man and a woman inside.

The man sat at the table, lost in thought, while the woman busied herself at the stove.

Huang Tang enabled [Developer Mode]:

[Man: The cannibal's father. An ordinary man who lives by hunting. He is aware of his children's cannibalistic behavior but is powerless to stop it.]

[Woman: The ogre's mother. Hidden identity: Witch. She once built a candy house in the forest to lure the ogre's children to settle there, in order to protect the villagers. However, she still harbors feelings for her children.]

Huang Tang raised an eyebrow.

A witch?

He knocked on the door.

"Who?" the woman asked warily.

"A passing traveler," Huang Tang said, "wanting a drink of water."

The door opened.

The woman sized them up, her gaze lingering on Huang Tang for a few seconds before stepping aside: "Come in."

The room was simple, but it was clean.

The man looked up, his eyes vacant, as if he had no interest in anything.

Huang Tang took a sip of water and got straight to the point: "We've come to ask how to kill those two cannibals."

The man's hand trembled, and water spilled all over the floor.

The woman's eyes became wary.

"You...you're going to kill my child?" Her voice became shrill.

Huang Tang looked at her calmly: "They killed a lot of people. Including the dozen or so passersby just now, they should all be dead by now."

The woman was silent.

The man suddenly spoke: "Killing him is fine. Killing him is fine..."

"Shut up!" the woman glared at him.

Huang Tang continued, "They've grown to over ten meters tall now. There's nothing left nearby to satisfy their appetites, even if you are their biological parents..."

He paused, then looked directly into the woman's eyes: "Soon, they'll eat you up too!"

The woman's face suddenly turned deathly pale.

Liu Lingqing immediately chimed in, switching into her persuasive mode: "Big sister, I understand how you feel. But think about it, they're monsters now, not your children anymore."

"Keeping them alive will only kill more people, and in the end, you won't even be able to protect yourselves."

The woman bit her lip and remained silent.

Liu Lingqing continued, "Besides, we could have just ignored it. But why did we come? Wasn't it because we didn't want to see you killed by them too? You are their biological mother. If they really came to eat you, you wouldn't even be able to escape."

The man's body began to tremble.

He grabbed the woman's hand, his voice trembling, "Tell me...tell them how to kill...I don't want to die...I don't want to be eaten by my own child..."

The woman closed her eyes, and tears streamed down her face.

After a long while, she opened her eyes, her voice hoarse:

"The only thing that can kill them is Snow White's poisoned apple."

Huang Tang was taken aback.

The poisoned apple in Snow White?

Isn't that the story of Snow White? How did it get mixed up with the candy store?

The woman continued, "The poisoned apple was specially made by Snow White; even a giant would die if he ate it."

"Where can I find the poisoned apple?" Liu Lingqing asked quickly.

"I don't know," the woman shook her head. "Only Snow White knows."

Huang Tang remained silent.

After going around in circles, we still have to find Snow White.

Liu Lingqing, however, persisted in her deception: "Big sister, you must know something else, right? For example, how do you know about Snow White and the poisoned apple?"

The woman hesitated for a moment, then said, "When I was young, I attended the grand celebration of Princess Rose's birth."

Huang Tang's heart skipped a beat.

Princess Rose? Sleeping Beauty?

This fairy tale world has completely fallen into chaos!

"Thirteen witches came, but only twelve were invited. The thirteenth witch came uninvited and cursed Princess Rose to be killed by a spindle when she was fifteen," the woman said. "I couldn't bear it, so I changed the curse, so she wouldn't be killed, but instead fell into a deep sleep until a prince of destiny appeared..."

Huang Tang understood.

This is the story of Sleeping Beauty.

But something just feels off.

He opened the developer mode and looked at the woman.

A prompt appears:

This woman is lying. She is the evil witch who cursed Princess Rose. The so-called "changing the curse" is a fabricated lie to cover up her crimes.
