A real killer playing a villain; the guy surnamed Zhen in Detective, run!

Chapter 12 Whose Man 2 is Carrying a Snakeskin Bag?

The sixth dog poked half its body out of the bag and scratched at the infrared sensor on the revolving door with its front paws.

The door turned.

The sixth brother shrank back.

The door stopped.

The sixth brother stretched out his claws again.

The door turned again.

Five times in a row. The revolving door opened and closed wildly, the glass partition swaying in the sunlight, making the doorman dizzy.

The doorman neither stopped nor greeted them. The voice on the walkie-talkie was very low: "Front desk, there's someone at the main entrance... looks like a delivery person, but it doesn't seem like it. He's carrying a burlap sack, and inside the sack... there seems to be a cat."

Lu Yuan leaned down and flicked Lao Liu's ear. "Quiet down."

The sixth brother shook his ears and shrank back into the bag.

He walked into the lobby carrying a snakeskin bag. His leather slippers clicked and slapped on the marble floor, the sound particularly crisp in the twelve-meter-high space.

The two girls at the front desk both turned their gazes to him at the same time.

It landed on the snakeskin bag first.

Then it landed on his face.

Then it returns to the snakeskin bag, creating a kind of cognitive clash.

This person was wearing a pilling sports jacket and faded cargo pants. But his face was so perfectly shaped—his bone structure was so exquisite he could practically be on a magazine cover.

In the center of the lobby stands a long reception table covered with black velvet, and a sign with gold lettering reads: "Reception Area for the 'Black Gold' Film Crew".

Jiang Yan wore a well-tailored dark gray suit, the top button fastened to the second button, and the waistline was very narrow. Her hair was tied up again, two centimeters higher than when we last met, revealing her full forehead and amber eyes. A name tag hung on her chest: Security Consultant Jiang Yan.

She was flipping through a check-in list when she looked up and saw Lu Yuan walking in through the revolving door.

Lu Yuan walked to the reception desk, placed the snakeskin bag on the ground, and Lao Liu shook his head twice. He noticed a fresh red mark on the inside of Jiang Yan's right wrist, with the scab on the outer edge and the abrasion running from the base of her palm towards her forearm.

That day in the park, in the bushes, was the day she tripped and fell into a pile of fallen leaves.

He didn't mention it.

"Officer Jiang has a new hairstyle, it looks great."

Jiang Yan said expressionlessly, "Please call me Consultant Jiang. My role on set is safety consultant."

Lu Yuan smiled.

"Understood, Advisor."

A sudden scream erupted outside the hotel's revolving door.

A wave of noise surged in from outside, and seven or eight bodyguards in black filed in through the side door, forming a human wall and forcefully pushing back the fans who were crowded together outside. Flashbulbs popped up everywhere.

Zhao Xiujie, the male lead in "Black Gold". A top-tier celebrity. Twenty-six years old, four years in the industry, with 60 million followers on Weibo.

He emerged from between the bodyguards. His sunglasses were a limited edition from a certain Italian luxury brand, with a logo on the temples so large it seemed almost plastered on his forehead. His hair was slicked back, each strand perfectly separated, a suit jacket draped over his shoulders, a silk shirt underneath, and a pair of emerald green cufflinks.

Four assistants followed behind him. One carried a bag, one held an umbrella, one served coffee, and one walked briskly with a tablet in hand.

Zhao Xiujie took off his sunglasses, held them between his fingers with one hand, and raised his chin at a fixed angle—his standard profile position, which he had practiced.

The attention of the two girls at the front desk was instantly captured.

The personal assistant walking at the front was a fat man with a buzz cut, three work badges hanging around his neck, and a voice so loud it could be used as a megaphone.

"Get out of the way! Move aside! Don't you have eyes? Don't try to take advantage of Brother Zhao's haute couture!"

The group pressed towards the elevator.

Lu Yuan was squatting beside the reception desk, tying the rope around the mouth of a snakeskin bag.

The chubby assistant glanced down at him. A snakeskin bag, a pilling coat, squatting on the ground.

"Hey, beggar, get lost!"

Lu Yuan didn't look up. He continued tying the rope.

The chubby assistant's temper flared. How dare this lowly nobody ignore him? He kicked the snakeskin bag.

Lu Yuan's right foot moved. The movement was minimal; his toes traced an arc of less than five centimeters across the ground before landing on the outside of the ankle of the leg from which the chubby assistant was kicking forward.

Get on board, then unload.

There was no pause between the two movements. The force of the fat assistant's kick was returned to his own center of gravity system intact, and with the inertia of the forward momentum, his body completed a classic model of instability in physics.

The supporting leg is deflected, the swinging leg is suspended in the air, and the upper body leans forward past the critical angle.

thump.

The 180-pound fat man landed straight on the marble floor, knees down first, hands on the ground, head facing the snakeskin bag, in a neat posture.

A standard kowtow.

The sixth brother poked his head out of the bag and glanced at him, tilting his head to the side.

The lobby was quiet for two seconds. Then the two girls at the front desk couldn't help but laugh out loud, and quickly covered their mouths.

The fat assistant's face turned a deep purplish-red. He got up, wincing in pain from his knees.

He looked back at the ground; it was dry marble, without water stains or obstructions.

How did he fall? I have absolutely no idea.

Lu Yuan had already straightened up, picked up the snakeskin bag, and stepped aside, his face full of innocence.

Zhao Xiujie stopped, his gaze shifting from the chubby assistant to Lu Yuan, scanning him from top to bottom. A snakeskin bag, old clothes, and a tattered cat with a paw sticking out of the bag.

"The film crew booked the entire venue, where are the security guards?" He glanced at the person next to him. "Throw this beggar and his cat out of here."

Assistant director Lin Yue sprinted down from the third-floor elevator, her bangs half-undone and plastered to her forehead. She squeezed into the crowd, her hands outstretched, panting heavily.

"It's a misunderstanding, Xiu Jie!"

She swallowed hard.

"This is Lu Yuan, the second male lead personally chosen by Director Su to play Shen Yibai!"

Zhao Xiujie blinked.

Then he laughed. The air hit his lips with a hissing sound.

"Who do we have here?" He put his sunglasses back on.

"Is this the extra Director Su found for the vertical store project?"

He straightened his shirt cuffs, and the jade cufflinks jingled under the light.

"What, you think you're some big shot just because you signed a contract? Dog meat can't be served at a formal banquet, don't spread your poverty to me."

After saying that, he led his four assistants straight to the private elevator. The chubby assistant followed at the back, limping, and didn't forget to turn around and glare at Lu Yuan.

The elevator doors closed, and the lobby fell silent again.

Lin Yue stood there, her hands raised in the air, her face flushed red to her ears.

"Lu Yuan, I'm sorry, Zhao Xiujie, that person..."

Lu Yuan squatted down, opened the snakeskin bag, and patted Lao Liu's back.

"fine."

Lin Yue pulled Lu Yuan toward the front desk, her mouth never stopping as she said "I'm sorry" at least seven times.

Upon arriving at the front desk: "Director Su reserved an executive suite for the second male lead. Could you please issue me the room key?"

The receptionist looked up, her gaze flickered across Lu Yuan's face for a second, then quickly looked down again. She tapped the keyboard twice and stopped.

"Excuse me..." she cleared her throat, "What is the current status of Mr. Lu Yuan's room?"

"What's wrong?"

"It was temporarily borrowed by Teacher Zhao."
