Sha Zhu's Rebirth in the Courtyard: Starting with Hitting Someone in the Head

Chapter 103 The drug was too strong
In October 1960, the pomegranate tree in the courtyard was laden with fruit, bending its branches. The weather was getting cooler; you had to wear a coat in the mornings and evenings, but the midday sun was still warm.
Over the past month, He Yuzhu had tried every acupuncture point on the beasts in the courtyard, filling an entire notebook with his notes. Finally, things quieted down in the courtyard, and no one dared to gossip about the He family behind their backs anymore.
On Saturday evening, Ma Hua Ma Qiang went back to his home, leaving only He Yuzhu, Lou Xiao'e, Shen Zhixia and Yushui in the inner courtyard.
After dinner, Yushui did her homework in the west wing, but soon started yawning. Lou Xiao'e urged her to go to bed early, and Yushui rubbed her eyes, mumbled a few words, and went back to her room with her schoolbag.
Shen Zhixia busied herself in the kitchen for a while before bringing out a white porcelain bowl and placing it in front of He Yuzhu. As soon as the lid was lifted, steam carrying the sweet aroma of red dates and longans wafted out.
"Brother He, this is a red date and longan soup that I made following a recipe. Please try it."
He Yuzhu glanced at her; her oval face was fair with a rosy glow, and her large eyes sparkled. He picked up the porcelain cup and took a sip. The sweetness was just right, and the aroma of longan lingered on his tongue. "It would be even better if the heat was reduced by half a quarter of an hour. The red dates are a bit bitter if overcooked."
Shen Zhixia nodded and waited to the side. Lou Xiao'e came out of the bedroom and urged him to finish drinking quickly. He Yuzhu blew on the hot water and drank it down in a few sips.
Lou Xiao'e took the porcelain bowl, pulled Shen Zhixia back to the kitchen, and slowly washed it. Both of them were very uneasy.
He Yuzhu leaned back in his armchair and closed his eyes for a while. The cool autumn night air seeped in through the crack in the door, but he gradually felt warm. At first, he thought it was because the red dates and longan in the soup were good for his energy, so he didn't pay much attention and unbuttoned his collar to let some air in.
A moment later, the heat surged upwards from his lower abdomen, burning along his spine to his brain. His heartbeat quickened, and his breathing became labored. Something was wrong. He knew traditional Chinese medicine; this pulse, this sensation—it meant he had been given medicine.
He turned to look at the kitchen. "Xiao'e, what did you put in my food?"
Lou Xiao'e came out, leaning against the door frame, her fingers digging into the cracks. Her face was slightly flushed, but her voice remained steady. "Brother He, please don't blame me. My mother gave me this medicine, saying it's mild. Zhixia is a good girl; she cares for you, and I'm willing to accept it too."
He Yuzhu gritted his teeth. "How much did you put in?"
Lou Xiao'e pursed her lips, her voice softening slightly. "You know kung fu, I was afraid... I added a little too much. Twice the normal amount."
He Yuzhu's mind went blank. It had doubled. Once the effects of this drug kicked in, forget about enduring it; it could make a person delirious. Looking at Xiao'e's expression, he couldn't bring himself to actually get angry at her.
He grabbed her wrist and pulled her into his arms. "You're such a good wife, personally finding a concubine for your man, even preparing the medicine. Don't leave tonight, I'm afraid Shen Zhixia will die in the room."
He looked at Shen Zhixia, who had followed him out. The effects of the drug had reached their peak, and his voice was hoarse like sandpaper. "Shen Zhixia, don't be afraid. I can only rely on the two of you to save my life now."
Shen Zhixia walked up to him, looked up at him, her eyes filled with worry and guilt, but she didn't look away. "Brother He, are you alright? How can we save you?"
He Yuzhu bent down, hoisted Xiao'e onto his shoulder, then took Shen Zhixia's hand and strode into the bedroom.
That night, Lou Xiao'e witnessed her man's full power for the first time.
Shen Zhixia was stunned. Only when his body pressed down on her did she realize how naive she had been. Tears welled in her eyes from the pain; her fingers gripped his back, her nails leaving red marks on his skin.
He Yuzhu kissed the corner of her eye, slowing his pace, but the effects of the drug were taking hold, and he couldn't control his strength. Shen Zhixia bit her pillow, her suppressed sobs tinged with fear, tears and sweat soaking the pillow together.
He Yuzhu was overwhelmed by the effects of the drug, his impulses rising wave after wave until he lost all sense of reason and was simply releasing his pent-up emotions.
They were entangled together in the dim light, it was impossible to tell whose leg was on top of whose, all that could be heard was He Yuzhu's heavy breathing and the woman's soft moans rising and falling.
Later, Shen Zhixia couldn't hold on any longer and fainted after pleading for mercy intermittently. Lou Xiao'e was also dizzy and weak all over, as if her bones had been removed, and she couldn't even lift her fingers.
Looking into He Yuzhu's red and swollen eyes, she finally understood how naive she had been. Every time He Yuzhu showed her affection, he held back, suppressing his strength, afraid of hurting her. For all these years of marriage, he had endured and suppressed it. Today, the drugs took effect, and this beast was finally unleashed. With her last bit of strength, she grabbed He Yuzhu's hand and said in a hoarse voice, "Brother He, we can't go on."
He took those words to heart, and the fire that had burned within him finally began to die down. He rolled over and lay down, panting heavily, sweat dripping from his forehead onto the pillow. One of them was completely unconscious, the other in a semi-conscious state.
The next morning, sunlight streamed through the curtains, illuminating the disheveled bed. He Yuzhu opened his eyes; the people on either side were still asleep. Shen Zhixia was curled up to his left, her cheeks bearing several red marks from his careless rubbing the previous night. Lou Xiao'e lay on her side to his right, fast asleep, a satisfied smile playing on her lips.
He slowly sat up, a mix of emotions swirling within him. Heartache, guilt, and a touch of satisfaction. He knew this was Xiao'e's heartfelt wish, but it weighed heavily on his heart. He gently tucked the blanket around Xiao'e. He thought to himself, "The debt of love I owe her in this life, I can never repay in the next."
He Xiao was babbling in her crib. He Yuzhu got dressed, picked up his son to change his diaper, then took He Xiao to make formula and went into the kitchen to cook a pot of red date and millet porridge.
There was some noise coming from the bedroom.
Shen Zhixia woke up and opened her eyes to see an unfamiliar ceiling. She was stunned for a moment before remembering what happened last night. She slowly sat up and leaned against the headboard, finding that her whole body ached terribly. She looked down at the red mark on her chest, and her face flushed red. She pulled the blanket up to cover half of her face.
Lou Xiao'e also woke up, rubbing her back as she sat up. Seeing Shen Zhixia's shy expression, she smiled gently. "Don't cover it up, I saw everything last night."
Shen Zhixia buried her face in the blanket, her voice muffled: "Sister Lou, is Brother He always like this?"
Lou Xiao'e was stunned for a moment, then leaned on Zhi Xia's shoulder and laughed. After laughing, she lowered her voice and said, "This is the first time I've ever seen anything like this. He usually holds back when he's being affectionate towards me, but last night, the drug took effect, and I realized how hard he used to hold back."
Shen Zhixia lifted half her face from under the covers, blinked her big eyes twice, and said, "Brother He, you're really worried about this? My aunts say that men only care about their own pleasure."
When He Yuzhu brought in the porridge, both of them were already dressed. Shen Zhixia could only lie half-reclined. "The porridge is ready. Drink more."
Shen Zhixia took the bowl of porridge and quietly thanked Brother He. Lou Xiao'e took the other bowl, stirred it with a spoon, blew on it to cool it down, and put it in her mouth.
Seeing the two women quietly drinking their porridge, He Yuzhu felt a weight lifted from his heart.
He reached out and ruffled Shen Zhixia's hair, then bent down and kissed Lou Xiao'e on the forehead. The two looked up at him simultaneously, and he said, "From now on, we're family."
