Police Chief's Anti-Organized Crime Storm

"Who is it?" Old Yuan frowned. Who could be coming at this time?

Knock, knock, knock... Knock, knock, knock... The only response to Yuan Lao was a rapid knocking on the door. Yuan Lao frowned even more deeply and said to Liao Congjun beside him, "Congjun, go and see?"

Liao Congjun walked to the door and looked through the peephole. A young man stood ramrod straight in the doorway. He opened the door and casually asked, "Who are you looking for?"

"Looking for Elder Yuan." The newcomer glanced at Liao Congjun with a sharp look in his eyes. Liao Congjun frowned and looked at Elder Yuan inside the room. The latter nodded, and only then did Liao Congjun let the man in.

"Are you Mr. Yuan?" The visitor recognized Mr. Yuan at a glance.

"You are..." Old Yuan looked at the young man with some suspicion. The latter reached into his pocket and took out something, then glanced at the others: "This is what Director Lin asked me to give you." After saying that, he handed over a USB drive. The expressions of everyone present changed slightly, especially one person, whose face became very tense, his eyes fixed on the USB drive in Old Yuan's hand. This should be the evidence that Lin Ying had just found.

Old Yuan quickly took the USB drive and nodded: "Thank you for your hard work. How is Director Lin?" Old Yuan admired the young man very much. Although the other party was a woman, it was really not easy for her to come to such a terrible mountainous county to take up a post. Only he, an old man from Dongjiang, knew just how bad the situation in Gaoshan County was.

"She has another message for you." After saying this, the person glanced at the group without speaking, the meaning of which couldn't be clearer.

Liao Congjun and the others awkwardly stood up. "Mr. Yuan, let's excuse ourselves." The others quickly stood up as well, but one of them hesitated, his eyes still fixed on the USB drive in Mr. Yuan's hand. The drive was so close, but he couldn't just grab it. Otherwise, he'd be in big trouble.

The group walked out of Elder Yuan's room one after another. The latter glanced at the young man and slowly nodded: "Young man, sit down and talk."

"No need. Director Lin asked me to pass on a message to you: there are their people in the audit team. Be careful, these people are extremely crazy and capable of anything." After saying that, the person turned and left.

Old Yuan's head buzzed, and he looked at the young man's back in disbelief. He quickly called out, "Wait a minute, what do you mean? How did you know that there were people from their team in the audit team?" Old Yuan's heart was pounding.

The young man turned around, glanced at Old Yuan, and slowly shook his head: "I'm sorry, sir, I don't know. I'm just passing on the message. If there's anything, please ask Director Lin directly." The young man quickly walked to the door, opened it, and then quickly went out.

Mr. Yuan paused for a moment, then quickly picked up his phone and dialed a number. Lin Ying's voice came through the phone...

"Director Lin, could you be more specific? How did you know that there were people from the other side in the audit team? And who are you referring to by 'them'?" Yuan Buzhou's voice was somewhat urgent because he knew very well that they were likely the people behind the scenes, and possibly the main targets of his investigation.

"Mr. Yuan, I learned about this from one of the suspects we just arrested. Their people are infiltrating everywhere, almost omnipresent. As long as you go to Gaoshan County, you will be monitored by them. So you must be careful. They are a bunch of lunatics who are capable of anything. You must also be careful."

Old Yuan was startled: "You mean, they dare to lay a hand on me?" He was somewhat skeptical. After all, he was from the province and was the chief person in charge of this audit. If they wanted to harm him, weren't they afraid of being blamed by the province?

Director Lin paused for two seconds, his voice slightly hoarse: "Old Yuan, so far, we have found the key witness in the Gao Lan case and have also arrested one. However, the other party is very cunning. We have already lost two people. From what I know about them, they are capable of anything. Moreover, they have people in the Public Security Bureau. This person has connections everywhere in Gaoshan County, and he has influence in both the legal and illegal worlds. His methods are both despicable and clever. Therefore, we cannot rule out the possibility that he might resort to desperate measures."

Upon hearing this, Yuan Lao's head spun, and he trembled with rage. These guys were utterly lawless, daring to kill people in public, showing absolutely no respect for the law.

The old man calmed his anger and composed himself: "Director Lin, don't worry, we will definitely cooperate with your investigation. Before we came, Secretary Hua specifically instructed that this time, you should take the lead and we should assist you. The economic issues are just the tip of the iceberg of the criminal gangs in Gaoshan County. I will notify you immediately if we find any useful or valuable information or clues."

Lin Ying nodded, said nothing more, and hung up the phone.

No one would have expected that this provincial audit would be a well-prepared and planned investigation. It turned out that after taking office, the provincial audit team discovered the cause of Gao Lan's death and the horrific circumstances of her death. The Dongjiang Provincial Party Committee was shocked, and its top leader, Hua Yunfeng, was furious. He demanded that the provincial audit department immediately establish a special task force to audit Gaoshan County, secretly making arrangements to cooperate with Lin Ying's work.

After hanging up the phone, Mr. Yuan frowned. He knew someone from the other side was in his audit team. Who could it be? The main members were all present just now, and they must have all seen someone hand him the USB drive. What should he do? The other side would definitely try to get their hands on the USB drive. The old man's expression changed slightly. He quickly took out the USB drive and looked around, wondering where he should put it.

On the same floor, in one of the rooms, a woman of medium build returned to her room, picked up her phone, and dialed a number: "Hello, is this the Party Secretary?"

"Yes, you finally called. How is it going?" An anxious voice came from the other end of the line. He wanted to know if the audit team had found anything today.

"The situation is not optimistic. As you know, Mr. Yuan is an economic expert. In this regard, he can find out even the slightest clue."

"What should we do then?" The person on the other end of the phone immediately became anxious. Are there any problems with Gaoshan County's economic accounts? Of course there are. As long as they are investigated, they will definitely be able to find out. Moreover, Sun Youcai's level is not high to begin with, and he is not likely to withstand Yuan Lao's investigation.

"Now, someone has already traced Tianlong Group, and too much of Gaoshan's funds have flowed to Tianlong Group. All these projects belong to Tianlong Group. Secretary, this matter is very difficult to handle. Moreover, I have some bad news to tell you." The woman paused slightly, and the other party's heart jumped into his throat. The silence on the phone was terrifying.

"Today, Lin Ying sent someone over with a USB drive. I guess it might contain some clues or information that Gao Lan had previously investigated."

"What?" The person on the other end of the phone changed his expression drastically, revealing an incredulous look. The information Gao Lan found had already reached Lin Ying's hands so quickly?

How is that possible?
