Police Chief's Anti-Organized Crime Storm

Ignoring Ma Guoliang and the Gaoshan County government and county committee members, the group immediately asked for a workplace and began working.

Ma Guoliang and Deputy County Head Zhao Yuma could tell that these people had no intention of paying any attention to them.

"Alright, Secretary Ma, County Head Zhao, you can go ahead with your work. We need to get started. If you have any questions, I'll contact you. Oh, and Director Sun, you can stay here." After saying that, Old Yuan waved to Sun Youcai, the director of the Finance Bureau, who was not far away. The latter scurried over to him.

Ma Guoliang spoke up: "Alright, Mr. Yuan, you all go ahead with your work. Director Sun, come with me for a moment. We must provide excellent service to the audit team leaders." With that, he led the way to his office.

Sun Youcai paused for a moment, then quickly turned around and followed.

Soon, the two entered the office one after the other.

"Close the door," Ma Guoliang said, and Sun Youcai quickly closed the door. Ma Guoliang sat down in his office chair.

"How's it going, Lao Sun? When Elder Yuan and the others came to audit the accounts this time, were there any problems with yours?" Ma Guoliang glanced at Sun Youcai, who was instantly startled and his heart jumped.

He carefully approached Ma Guoliang and spoke in a voice only the two of them could hear: "Secretary Ma, don't worry, there's nothing wrong with our accounts. Any problems have already been resolved."

"Hmm, I hope we won't give anything away?" Ma Guoliang knew that Old Yuan himself was trained in auditing, and he had experts under his command. He had heard that in the neighboring Hongyun County, a lot of problems were uncovered last year, and neither the county party secretary nor the county head escaped punishment. The director of the finance bureau even hanged himself.

Sun Youcai shook his head. It's no secret that the county keeps two sets of books, but only a few people know about it. You only know how deep the water is when you do accounting.

"Don't worry, Gao Lan brought two senior accountants and they couldn't find it, so they definitely won't be able to either." Sun Youcai was full of confidence; this wasn't the first time he had dealt with an audit.

Ma Guoliang slowly nodded, secretly relieved, and then gave Sun Youcai a warning look, which made the latter's heart skip a beat.

"Sun Youcai, I've remembered what you said. Don't let them find any problems later. Otherwise, we'll all be in deep trouble. Since the provincial audit team is here, they can't possibly miss nothing. Otherwise, it would be such a loss of face for the leadership, understand?"

Upon hearing this, Sun Youcai immediately understood that the problem could be found, but it would definitely be a minor, insignificant issue; a major problem was impossible.

"Don't worry, Secretary, I understand. This time, I will definitely not let you down." After saying that, Sun Youcai bowed deeply.

Ma Guoliang nodded in satisfaction again. Sun Youcai had no other skills, but he was obedient. Moreover, if you told him to go east, he would never go west. That's why he was able to rise from a small accountant to the head of the county's finance bureau.

"Go ahead and serve your superiors well. Do your best to meet their needs. Of course, if you're unsure, you can come to me, understand?"

"Yes, yes, Secretary, Youcai understands." Sun Youcai nodded and bowed as he withdrew. He had always been Ma Guoliang's man, for decades.

The office door slowly opened and then slowly closed. Ma Guoliang lit a cigarette and took a deep drag. Since Gao Lan's death, too many things had happened to Gao Shan lately, and Lin Ying had already started to oppose him. No, he had to get Lin Ying out of there as soon as possible.

No, that won't do. Lin Ying has only been here for a short time. Wouldn't it be too fast to kick her out so soon? His mind was in turmoil.

Perhaps Wang Dalong understands his situation and will take care of things without him having to say a word.

Hopefully, they can get through this audit smoothly. Also, regarding the issue of the major fiscal allocations for Gaoshan County being blocked, he has to go to the province again. The crisis in Gaoshan will not be resolved until this matter is clarified.

He wasn't afraid of Lin Ying alone, but if the higher-ups were truly disappointed in Gao Shan and wanted to take action against him, then things would be troublesome.

This audit came on strong and was definitely not an ordinary one.

Thinking of this, he picked up the phone and dialed a number...

In the provincial party committee office building of Dongjiang Province, Meng Jianguo never expected that his elder brother would come in person. When he saw Gao Hongshan, his body trembled slightly. He knew who Gao Lan was, and he was filled with regret!

He knew that Gao Lan was not his old comrade's biological daughter, but he never expected that she would actually be his descendant.

"Brother Hongshan, what brings you here?" Gao Hongshan was a pioneer of the older generation of revolutionaries, and in the eyes of that generation, he was a true revolutionary hero.

"I heard there's been progress in Gao Lan's case, and I'd like to inquire about the situation." Gao Hongshan's body was somewhat hunched, but his eyes were sharp and gleaming.

"Please sit down, elder brother!" After saying that, Meng Jianguo stood up and helped Gao Hongshan to the sofa.

Just as Gao Hongshan sat down, there was a knock on Meng Jianguo's office door. He frowned, walked to the door, and with a creak, the door opened. It was his secretary, Xiao Luo: "What is it? We'll talk later. Also, don't let anyone disturb me." After saying that, she turned and left.

"Old Meng, what kind of treasure are you hiding in this house that I can't bother you?" A deep voice rang out.

Police Chief Meng Jianguo turned around and quickly looked at the person who had come: "Secretary Hua, what brings you here?" It was Hua Yunfeng, the top official of Dongjiang Province.

"I heard that an elder brother has arrived. What, are you planning to hide him from me, a junior?" Hua Yunfeng, the Secretary of the Dongjiang Provincial Party Committee, a true regional governor, was already being quite humble, referring to himself as a junior.

Meng Jianguo was a little embarrassed and quickly gestured for him to go first, saying, "Secretary Hua, please go first. Brother Gao is inside." He then pointed.

The two walked into Meng Jianguo's office, one after the other.

Gao Hongshan turned his head and saw the two people who had entered. He paused slightly, then slowly stood up, his body trembling slightly: "You are...?"

"Brother, I'm Hua Yunfeng, you can just call me Xiao Hua." Gao Hongshan, a true revolutionary martyr, was someone who truly dedicated his youth and blood to the rebirth of the Republic, and one of the few remaining veteran revolutionaries in Dongjiang. Apart from a few families of high-ranking red cadres, almost no one knew that this ruthless man who once recaptured Dongjiang with a long spear was still alive.

"Oh, Secretary Hua, hello. I'm old and useless now. I didn't tell Ziming before I came. I didn't expect to disturb you." Although Gao Hongshan was no longer in officialdom, he retired as a lieutenant general. However, he was too low-key, so almost no one knew where this old Dongjiang squad leader had gone.

"Brother, you flatter me. I'm the one who has wronged you!" After saying that, Hua Yunfeng bowed deeply to Gao Hongshan, bending his waist to a ninety-degree angle, and refused to get up for a long time.

"What are you doing, child? What are you doing? Get up, get up!"
