Police Chief's Anti-Organized Crime Storm

A commotion erupted at the Finance Bureau of Gaoshan County; Mr. Yuan had collapsed.

This news came like a bombshell, catching the audit team from the province completely off guard.

Liao Congjun and Wu Jingyi followed, while the others were somewhat at a loss. The boss had left; were they still going to investigate? What about the problems they had just discovered? How were they going to resolve them? Everyone looked at each other, unsure of what had happened.

In the ambulance, Liao Congjun didn't say a word. Ma Guoliang was also in the ambulance, so he couldn't speak. Wu Jingyi also didn't speak. She looked at Liao Congjun, then at Ma Guoliang. The two looked at each other, their eyes filled with complicated emotions.

Ma Guoliang looked regretful and remorseful. He hadn't expected that Yuan Lao would collapse so easily. What if he woke up and continued to hold onto those two debts?

Probably not. Mr. Yuan is a smart man. As long as he remains in a coma for a while, and the audit team finds nothing wrong after reviewing the accounts, he can be safe and sound. It's a win-win situation!

Ma Guoliang's mind raced. He glanced anxiously at the paramedic beside him and asked, "Doctor, how is it? How is Elder Yuan?"

"Secretary Ma, please don't worry. Elder Yuan is currently unconscious. Only when we get to the hospital can we find out the real cause."

"Is he alright now? He absolutely cannot get into any trouble. He's the pillar of Dongjiang." Ma Guoliang seemed afraid that others wouldn't know how much he cared about Yuan Buzhou.

Liao Congjun didn't speak, but just kept staring at Old Yuan, feeling a little sad. He really shouldn't have left just now, and shouldn't have agreed to let Old Yuan meet with Ma Guoliang alone. He didn't expect that something would happen. No matter what, he had to inform Lin Ying as soon as possible. Things were definitely not that simple.

However, Ma Guoliang is the county party secretary. Would he take such a risk to take action against Elder Yuan? Liao Congjun also felt that this was unlikely. After all, Ma Guoliang was the top official in Gaoshan County; he had no reason to take action against Elder Yuan now. Besides, nothing had been found out, just two accounts. Could those two accounts really have serious problems?

Liao Congjun was startled and began to suspect Ma Guoliang's true purpose in going in to see Yuan Lao. He and Wu Jingyi wisely refrained from asking Ma Guoliang what had happened, because the story couldn't stand scrutiny. Even if Ma Guoliang had done something, they had no evidence. There were no security cameras in the office.

But if Ma Guoliang did nothing, why did Yuan Lao faint so quickly?

The more they thought about it, the more uneasy they felt, and the more suspicious things seemed. However, before they could find out the truth and before Mr. Yuan woke up, they dared not speculate.

Soon, they arrived at the hospital, and Mr. Yuan was carried into the emergency room. However, more than an hour passed, and he still hadn't come out. Liao Congjun and Wu Jingyi were getting anxious.

Liao Congjun quickly picked up his phone and dialed Lin Ying's number.

Upon hearing that something had happened to Elder Yuan, Lin Ying's expression changed instantly, her head buzzed, and her heart pounded: "What exactly happened? Tell me the details."

Liao Congjun quickly recounted the events in detail. Upon hearing this, Lin Ying frowned, her heart skipping a beat. Ma Guoliang had personally intervened?! It seemed that Elder Yuan and his team had uncovered Ma Guoliang's weakness. What accounts were so crucial that Ma Guoliang would risk his life for them? Originally, she had only suspected that Ma Guoliang might have a problem, but now it seemed that it wasn't just a possibility, but that he definitely did.

"You stay by Elder Yuan's side and don't leave him for a moment. I will send people to protect Elder Yuan immediately."

"Director Lin, I'm sorry to trouble you, but Mr. Yuan has been in the emergency room for over an hour and hasn't come out yet. Do you think we should..."

Lin Ying frowned again. Hadn't he come out of the emergency room after more than an hour? She had a bad feeling and quickly said, "Wait here, I'll call the hospital right away."

About five minutes later, two figures rushed over: "Which one of you is Mr. Liao Congjun?"

"I am... and you are...?" Liao Congjun looked up and saw two middle-aged men in white coats, one with an ordinary appearance and the other with a tall stature.

"I'm Qian Minhua, the director of this hospital. Your Director Lin called me and said that Elder Yuan has been admitted to our hospital." Upon hearing the name Elder Yuan, Qian Minhua was so shocked that he almost collapsed to the ground. Elder Yuan had an accident and ended up at his First People's Hospital?!

"Dean Qian, hello, hello! Professor Yuan has been inside for almost an hour and hasn't come out yet. Look..."

Qian Minhua's heart skipped a beat. Just as he was about to enter the emergency room, he saw someone standing at the door. He was startled and instinctively stopped in his tracks: "Secretary Ma... what brings you here?"

"Old Qian, I happened to be nearby when Elder Yuan had the accident, so I followed him all the way here. Why don't you go in and see what happened?"

Qian Minhua's heart tightened, and he quickly nodded and strode into the emergency room. When he entered, he was instantly dumbfounded.

In the armed police squadron, Lin Ying was visibly anxious after finishing her phone call. He Zheng noticed this and raised an eyebrow: "What's wrong? What happened?"

"Something's happened to Elder Yuan." Lin Ying's words startled Wu Yuzhu and Qin Haoran, who exclaimed in unison, "Something's happened to Elder Yuan?"

"Which Yuan Lao?" He Zheng had been in the military all his life and didn't know much about local affairs.

"It's the auditing expert Yuan Buzhou," Lin Ying quickly replied. He Zheng frowned; he seemed to have heard of him somewhere before, but he wasn't very familiar with him.

"What's wrong? Is there a problem?" He Zheng knew that anything that could make Lin Ying anxious was definitely not a small matter.

"He was the main leader in charge of the audit of Gaoshan County this time. I gave him the information that Gao Lan had found before. As long as we follow the clues, we will definitely be able to find out where the missing funds in Gaoshan County went. Moreover, he found two accounts. Unexpectedly, something happened right away. Obviously, someone didn't want him to continue the investigation."

Upon hearing this, He Zheng and Qin Haoran frowned simultaneously. Neither of them had expected that the criminal gangs in Gaoshan County would be so arrogant as to dare to take action in the county's finance bureau.

"Do you know who did it?" He Zheng's expression was not good. In his opinion, the sky in Gaoshan County was indeed too dark, and the criminals were too bold.

"It's not clear yet, but the head of the audit team said that County Party Secretary Ma Guoliang went into Yuan Lao's office and Yuan Lao had an accident when he came out."

"What?" The two men's eyes widened, their expressions as if they had seen a ghost. The county party secretary, a high-ranking official, had attacked an auditing expert from the province?

Both of them found it unbelievable. Had the county party secretary gone mad? How could he do something like this?
