Luo Yao cupped her face in her hands, feigning surprise.

"Wow~ Uncle, were your tastes always this bad?"

She walked up to Zhang Ling and looked her up and down.

"That face, that demeanor, that figure..."

She shook her head.

"This woman must be 35, right?"

Zhang Ling was furious.

"Who do you think you are! I'm only 22!"

She turned and yelled at Bai Ziheng.

"Bai Ziheng, you just wait! You dare betray me! I'll make you pay!"

After saying that, she stormed out, slamming the door behind her.

Bai Ziheng watched her departing figure and waved his hand.

"Remember to come and pick up your clothes when you have time."

The door slammed shut.

He pulled out a chair, sat down, lit a cigarette, and took a puff.

Luo Yao walked over and straddled his lap, a cigarette dangling from her lips.

"You do it..."

Before Bai Ziheng could finish speaking, the girl had already moved close to her face, pressed the cigarette holders together, and lit the cigarette.

Then he took a drag and spat it out onto his face.

"Hey, buddy."

She narrowed her eyes, her voice alluring.

I'm only warning you this once.

"I didn't care what you did before, but now and from now on, you belong to me."

"Got it?"

Bai Ziheng looked at her face, which was so close to his.

Those golden, vertical pupils gleamed with a dangerous yet captivating light.

"Are all demons as possessive as you?"

he asks.

"What, you're not convinced?"

Luo Yao tilted her head, squinting her eyes and grinning mischievously.

Bai Ziheng also blew a puff of smoke into her face.

"Fine, anyway, you're the one who saved my life."

"Good girl."

...

...

At 2 a.m., a torrential downpour began.

A dozen or so workers, wearing raincoats, grumbled as they unloaded the last shipment.

Old Liu, who was in charge of the shift, wiped the water off his face and waved to everyone.

"That's a wrap! Damn this weather, my pants are soaked!"

The workers laughed and carried their tools toward the break room.

Just then, a young worker suddenly stopped.

"Brother Liu, listen."

"What are you listening to?"

"This box... is moving."

The young worker patted the container next to him, and a dull thud came from inside.

Old Liu frowned, leaned over, and pressed his ear against the sheet metal.

"Thump...thump..."

The impacts came one after another, in a very rhythmic manner.

"Smuggled in?" the young worker asked in a low voice.

"What should we do? Should we call the supervisor?"

"Call me." Old Liu turned and ran towards the duty room.

"If someone suffocates inside, we'll all be facing legal trouble."

A few minutes later, the supervisor arrived with two forklift drivers.

"Open."

The forklift driver operated the forklift and pried open the lock on the container door.

The moment the iron gate was pulled open, everyone was stunned.

On a rainy night, the scene inside the container was exposed to the stark white light.

Those weren't illegal immigrants.

It's an egg.

Countless eggs.

Each one is the size of a basketball.

Its pale purple shell is covered with dark red vein patterns.

The lines were still pulsating slightly, like a heart beating.

A sweet, fishy smell filled the air, mixed with rainwater, and entered everyone's nostrils.

"What...what is this thing?!"

The supervisor turned pale and took two steps back.

puff-

A muffled thud.

The egg closest to the door cracked open.

A viscous liquid gushed out of the crack.

Then a jet-black claw emerged from inside, grabbed the edge of the eggshell, and ripped it apart.

A monster crawled out of it.

Two disproportionately long arms hang down at the sides of the body; there are no eyes, only a gaping, blood-red mouth.

It raised its head and aimed at the young worker who was closest to it.

"ah!!"

Screams ripped through the rainy night.

Blood mixed with rainwater splattered all over the ground.

Old Liu was so frightened that his legs went weak. He turned around to run, but found that his legs wouldn't obey him at all.

He stumbled forward a few steps, followed by more cracking sounds.

One monster after another crawled out of the eggs.

The workers scattered and fled, but the monsters were incredibly fast.

With its two long arms braced on the ground, it caught up with the worker who was running at the very back in the blink of an eye.

Old Liu was running in the lead, and he was about to dash out of the container area.

Suddenly, a flash of light appeared before his eyes.

The cold white light drew an arc through the rain.

The monster in front of him was cut in half at the waist.

Black blood splattered all over the ground.

Old Liu's legs gave way, and he fell to the ground, panting heavily.

He looked up and saw a girl in a black combat uniform standing in the rain, holding a long sword.

Rainwater streamed down her blade.

Behind her, a group of people dressed similarly filed in.

The blade flashed, and blood and flesh flew everywhere.

In less than two minutes, all the monsters that had crawled out of the eggs were killed.

A strong, fishy stench permeated the rain.

A woman wearing glasses walked up to the workers, squatted down, and spoke gently.

"Don't be afraid, it's alright now."

She reached out, took off her gloves, and made everyone look at her hands.

"You didn't see anything tonight."

Old Liu and the other surviving workers instantly looked bewildered.

Then his head lolled to the side and he passed out.

"Take them to a safe place."

The woman gave instructions to the team members behind her.

After dealing with all of this, the girl who had attacked first sheathed her sword.

Rain dripped down her hair, and she gently shook her head, revealing a cool and beautiful face.

Several Special Administration Bureau members who had just finished cleaning up the scene huddled together and whispered among themselves.

"That's Commander Zheng's daughter? Zheng Yueyao?"

"Yes, I heard she's just a pretty face, she got into the Demon Slayer Squad through her dad's connections."

"Tch, they were just lucky to be born into the right family."

"But I saw her move quite skillfully just now."

"Nonsense, this kind of monster isn't even a D-rank. Any trained team member could cut it down. What skill could you possibly learn from it?"

"That's true. How could she possibly have a chance to touch a truly high-level demon?"

Zheng Yueyao heard it very clearly.

Not a single word was missed.

But she didn't care.

She'd heard this gossip so many times she was used to it.

She pressed the earpiece and spoke softly.

"Operation complete, battlefield inventory underway."

The voice just fell.

"boom--!!"

A loud bang made everyone's eardrums ache.

A shipping container not far away suddenly exploded from the inside.

A huge egg was exposed to torrential rain.

It is over three meters tall and its shell is covered with scarlet patterns.

Zheng Yueyao's pupils contracted.

"spread!!"

She roared.

All team members immediately retreated and created distance between themselves.

"Bang!"

The eggshell burst open.

A monster charged out from inside.

It was over three meters tall and covered in black bone armor, resembling a deformed hyena.

Its four legs were thick and powerful, its claws were deeply embedded in the ground, and its mouth dripped with sticky saliva.

Its scarlet eyes swept over the crowd before it, then it opened its mouth and let out a low roar.

The sound waves were so loud they made your scalp tingle.

"A-rank Hyena!!"

Someone cried out in terror.

"The intelligence is wrong!! The previous detection only showed low-level monsters!! Why are there A-level monsters?!"

"Damn it! Call for backup!!"

The enormous hyena had already moved.

It was incredibly fast, lunging directly at the nearest team member.

A claw swung down.

The team member didn't even have time to scream before he was sent flying like he'd been hit by a truck, crashing into the container and denting the metal.

"Form ranks!!"

Zheng Yueyao charged forward with her sword drawn, the long blade flashing coldly in the rain as she slashed towards the hyena's neck.

The blade struck the bone armor, sending sparks flying.

Only a faint white mark remained.

The hyena turned its head, its scarlet eyes locking onto her.

Its tail swept across like a steel whip.

Zheng Yueyao parried with her sword.

"clang--"

The knife was shattered by the impact.

She was thrown away by the force and crashed heavily onto the shipping container.

The pain was so intense that she almost passed out.

"cough--"

She coughed up blood and struggled to get up.

The smaller hyenas around them also began to stir and pounce on the other team members.

Screams echoed throughout the room.
