Gu Qin pulled out the needle from the back of her hand, lifted the blanket, and was about to get out of bed.

Huang Yi rushed over and grabbed his arm, but was rooted to the spot by a look from him, yet still refused to let go: "Brother Gu, the doctor said you need to stay in the hospital for observation..."

"I'm all better."

Gu Qin's voice was firm and resolute. He had already put on his slippers and reached for his coat draped over the back of the chair.

Huang Yi stammered, still clutching his sleeve, hesitant to let go.

Gu Qin looked at him suspiciously. Huang Yi froze for a moment, then released his grip, saying with a bitter face, "Brother Gu, are you going to see Miss Wen?"

Gu hesitated for a moment before nodding, and Huang Yi then said, "Actually, Young Master Lin has already sent her back."

Gu Qin paused.

Huang Yi quickly explained, recounting everything that happened after Gu Qin fell into a coma.

The young master Lin from before has returned, taken control of the body, and brought them all out of the casino.

Gu Qin was taken to the hospital, while Wen Qing was sent home.

Young Master Lin also said that he was sorry for what that person had done and hoped that they would not reveal that person's existence.

After listening, Gu Qin remained silent for a moment, then said in a low voice, "He came back quite quickly."

But he still had to leave afterwards.

Huang Yi asked him anxiously where he was going, and Gu Qin said he was looking for Lin Zhiyan and wanted to get to the bottom of things.

Huang Yi couldn't stop him and could only watch helplessly as Gu Qin put on his coat and left the ward.

But he still quietly took out his phone and dialed someone's number.

……

Gu Qin rushed to the Lin family villa, only to be told that Lin Zhiyan was not there. Aunt Zhang shook her head and said she didn't know where he had gone.

He called Lin Zhiyan, but no one answered.

He stood at the door for a moment, and suddenly a place flashed through his mind.

Lin Zhiyan also has a private villa in the suburbs, which not many people know about. He only remembered the way after visiting it with Lin Zhiyan a few years ago.

He might be there.

So Gu Qin rode his motorcycle and sped off.

The villa was hidden behind the woods halfway up the mountain, its gray-white exterior walls resembling a quiet stone in the evening light.

He parked his car and was about to walk inside when he noticed a person standing at the gate.

It turned out to be Wen Fan, whom I hadn't seen in a long time.

He stood there, his back to the road, like a silent statue.

The sky was dark, and half of Wen Fan's face was shrouded in shadow, his brows and eyes filled with melancholy, a stark contrast to his usual gentle and clean-cut young man.

Gu Qin frowned, wondering why Wen Fan was here.

But remembering that Huang Yi had said Wen Qing had already been sent back, he still asked, "How is your sister?"

Wen Fan did not answer.

He slowly turned his head, his dark eyes looking at Gu Qin like two deep wells that couldn't let in any light.

Gu Qin felt that something was wrong with him; the cold aura emanating from him was so strong it seemed to seep from his very bones.

Just as he was about to speak, Wen Fan suddenly walked towards him.

Gu Qin asked him what he was doing, but before he could finish speaking, a silver light pierced the twilight before his eyes.

Wen Fan suddenly had a dagger in his hand. The dagger stabbed quickly and viciously, the entire blade sinking into Gu Qin's chest.

Gu Qin's pupils dilated suddenly. He looked down at the blood blooming on his chest, then looked up at Wen Fan, disbelief still lingering in his eyes.

Then he fell backward and crashed heavily to the ground.

Wen Fan looked down at the person lying in a pool of blood, his expression surprisingly calm.

Blood dripped from between his fingers gripping the dagger, drop by drop, into the ever-growing pool of blood beneath Gu Qin.
