When Wenqing woke up again, she found herself back in that room.

She lay on the same large bed as before, her hands and feet no longer chained. The room was empty and quiet, with only her there.

She propped herself up with her limp arms, a faint soreness throbbing in the back of her neck.

She couldn't help but rub her genitals, recalling the scene in the car where Lin Zhiyan had suddenly knocked her unconscious, which made her so angry that her back teeth itched.

She knew he had ill intentions, so she knocked her unconscious when she wasn't paying attention.

Wen Qing subconsciously touched her lips and found them cool, as if something had been applied to them, and they even stung a little when touched.

Then, she remembered the kiss in the car earlier.

I never imagined that Lin Zhiyan, with her abstinent and refined appearance, would harbor such a violent kiss.

His tongue felt like it was on fire, almost swallowing her breath. She was like a fish trapped at the bottom of the water, unable to struggle free...

Wait, I can't think about those things.

Wen Qing shook her head vigorously to banish those increasingly absurd images from her mind. After the heat on her face subsided, she walked barefoot around the room and found that the door was locked tightly and she couldn't open it no matter how hard she tried.

She was furious and kicked the door.

Suddenly, the door opened from the outside.

A young man in a waiter's uniform stood in the doorway, looking at her coldly: "Miss Wen, the young master is looking for you."

Wen Qing was taken aback for a moment, then subconsciously asked, "He's looking for me? What does he want?"

The waiter didn't answer, but simply stepped aside to make room for the doorway and gestured for the door to open.

Wen Qing didn't move, and continued to ask, "Where is he? Did he say what he wanted to see me about?"

She was still seething with anger, but being locked up, she figured it wouldn't hurt to find out more.

"Young Master only instructed me to invite you over."

The waiter's voice remained indifferent, and he even slightly avoided her gaze, as if he was reluctant to look at her even once more.

Wenqing followed him through the corridor, and the more she thought about it, the stranger his attitude seemed.

She quickened her pace and leaned closer, lowering her voice to ask, "Do you have a problem with me? Or did Lin Zhiyan tell you something?"

"Miss Wen is overthinking it." The waiter continued walking, his tone curt. "I'm just a servant; I wouldn't dare to have any complaints about a customer."

"Then why do you always have such a long face?"

The waiter finally turned his head to look at her, but quickly looked away again: "...No reason."

Seeing that the other party's attitude remained cold and even carried a hint of barely perceptible hostility in their response, Wen Qing was completely confused.

Soon the two arrived at Lin Zhiyan's room. The waiter announced inside, and a deep voice came from inside: "Come in."

The door was ajar; it opened with a push.

As Wenqing stepped inside, a faint smell of blood entered her nostrils first.

She frowned slightly; the smell reminded her of the bloody kiss from before. Her stomach churned slightly, but she held back and didn't show it.

She then took two steps inside and saw Lin Zhiyan sitting with his back to her in a dark leather chair, his upper body bare, his back broad, his muscles smooth and firm, gleaming with a healthy glow under the light.

His waist was wrapped in several layers of gauze, with dark red bloodstains faintly visible through the gauze.

A family doctor was bending down to treat his wound, using tweezers to hold a cotton ball, moving very carefully.

Wenqing didn't know how he suddenly got injured.

However, she didn't feel much sympathy, after all, she had just been knocked unconscious and locked up by this person.

She stood near the door without going forward, just standing there quietly, waiting for Lin Zhiyan to speak.

Just as the doctor was about to begin bandaging, Lin Zhiyan suddenly raised her hand to stop him, saying, "No need."

Then he said calmly, "Let her come."

The doctor paused for a moment, then turned to look at Wen Qing.

Wen Qing's eyes widened: "Me? I don't know how to bandage."

"Let the doctor teach you."

Why should I—

She stopped halfway through her sentence.

Because Lin Zhiyan turned to look at her, his eye, which wasn't covered by his glasses, was deep and dark, his gaze calm yet undeniably fixed on her face.

Then he slowly said, "This injury was caused by you."

Wen Qing looked completely bewildered: "What do you mean 'because of me'? What does your injury have to do with me?"

Lin Zhiyan didn't explain, but just stared intently at her.

His eyes were like a deep pool of water with a frozen surface, beneath which flowed many emotions she couldn't understand.

Wen Qing felt as if she were being pressed down by some invisible weight, and even her breathing unconsciously became lighter.

After a brief standoff, she finally looked away and gritted her teeth, making a condition: "I can bandage you, but you have to let me go after I'm done."

Lin Zhiyan paused for a moment, then nodded: "Okay."

Wenqing took the gauze and ointment from the doctor.

The doctor went over the precautions and then left, leaving only her and Lin Zhiyan in the room.

She moved a low stool and sat down beside him, looking down at the wound.

The wound was treated very cleanly, but after being stitched up, a little bit of dark red flesh was turned outwards, which looked a bit scary.

The wound looks like a knife wound. I don't know what Lin Zhiyan was doing while she was unconscious, that she was stabbed.

However, she couldn't help but think more maliciously: why didn't she just stab him to death?

Wenqing blinked, no longer thinking about it, and used a cotton swab to apply the ointment to the edge of his wound.

The moment the ointment touched the wound, Lin Zhiyan's abdominal muscles involuntarily twitched.

She looked up at him, but his expression remained unchanged, his gaze fixed on the top of her head.

Wen Qing lowered her eyes uncomfortably and continued applying the medicine.

She was very close, her breath brushing against his skin like feathers, her fingers trembling slightly with nervousness, her fingertips moving back and forth between the cold ointment and his burning body temperature.

She just wanted to finish quickly, so she unconsciously sped up her work.

Lin Zhiyan looked down at her slightly pursed lips, which were pursed in concentration, and a strand of hair hanging down from her hair, without saying a word.

"Don't use so much force," he suddenly said, his voice momentarily hoarse.

Lin Zhiyan found it somewhat amusing to see her hastily withdraw her hand as if she had been burned, and the anger that had accumulated due to her injury unconsciously dissipated a bit.

He couldn't help but reach out and gently brush away the stray hairs that were covering Wenqing's eyes from her forehead, the movement so natural as if it were just an afterthought.

Wen Qing's face flushed instantly, and she turned her head away from his hand.

He moved even closer, his breath brushing against her earlobe.

Wen Qing tensed up all over, and the gauze under her fingers almost fell off.

She gritted her teeth, wrapped the last loop of the bandage, tied a knot, and then quickly got up and took two steps back.

Lin Zhiyan looked down at the area where she had wrapped up, then at her bright red ear tips, and the gloom in his eyes lessened a bit.

Wenqing, with her neck stiff, said, "I've finished wrapping them up, now you can let me go."

But Lin Zhiyan didn't say anything after hearing this; his gaze simply fell on her, slow and deep.
