Taoist priest goes to America

Chapter 83 You're Quite Interesting

As Li An fell backward, he swung his right hand sharply toward the ceiling, and three fist-sized clumps of dark red flesh were peeled off his palm.

Three slimy octopuses "splattered" onto the wall above the door frame, their tentacles wriggling and wrapping around the frame, lurking silently.

Li An's back hit the ground, his white bathrobe unfurling to reveal his lower body. The flesh-splitting skill created several dents on his chest skin, the skin tissue contracted and changed color, finally revealing several realistically shaped bullet holes, from which dark red blood gushed.

He closed his eyes, held his breath, his chest stopped rising and falling, and laid his hands flat on the carpet. Two spiritual threads extended from his hands and connected to the two wooden puppets on the bedside table, Doyle and Ren Jianhua. Under Li An's guidance, they quietly began to move.

A young girl daring to come to a hotel alone and commit murder in the middle of the night—Ang Lee's intuition told him something was wrong. The less aggressive a person appears, the more likely they are to be hiding their most deadly trump card. Better safe than sorry; it's never a bad idea to be cautious.

"Bang--"

The door lock was shattered by a bullet, and the door panel bounced open, allowing a short figure to step in with a gun.

The foot wearing a small black leather boot stepped in first, landing on the carpet.

Next up were the legs; the lines of the calves were clearly outlined under the hotel corridor lights, revealing firm, taut muscles beneath the fair skin.

Although those legs were short, each step was as steady as nails driven into the floor, ready to unleash power far exceeding expectations at any moment.

The assassin was an Asian girl, about 1.6 meters tall. She raised her gun, scanned the room, and then stepped over the threshold, glancing down at Li An.

Ang Lee lay face up in a pool of blood, with only a white hotel towel wrapped around his lower body. His hands were limply spread out on the carpet. There were several bullet holes in his chest and abdomen, from which blood seeped, staining the surrounding skin red.

The girl moved the gun barrel downwards, preparing to finish off the corpse.

Suddenly she turned around abruptly, pushing off with both feet at the same time. The turn was so fast that it was completely invisible. She raised the gun again and fired six shots in quick succession.

The silencer reduced the gunshot to six low, sonic booms, each bullet hitting a fleshy octopus that leaped down from above the door frame with pinpoint accuracy.

Dark red fragments of flesh exploded.

Dark red flesh and blood exploded in the air, tearing the bodies of the fleshy octopuses to shreds. Blood splattered on the door frame and her uniform, mixed with broken pieces of tentacles that fell to the ground with a crackling sound.

All three octopuses were killed. Two of them had their bodies mostly smashed, but the remaining bits of flesh were still wriggling. Dragging their severed limbs, they pounced straight down on the girl from above, like two sticky, dark red cannonballs.

At the same time, Ang Lee sprang up from the pool of blood, his towel being pulled loose in the process, but he didn't care at all.

Li An spread his five fingers on his left hand, and a layer of dark red waves surged under the skin of his palm. Four thick, fleshy tentacles broke through the skin from his palm, their surfaces covered with dark red blood vessels, and their ends were sharp like spears, piercing straight towards the girl with a whooshing sound.

The four tentacles split into two groups, two stabbing towards her head and two piercing her torso at tricky angles, blocking her escape route.

At the same time, Ang Lee raised his right hand, aimed the gun at the girl's head, and pulled the trigger.

Gunshots rang out, followed by the sound of wood cracking from the other side of the room.

The two puppets, Doyle and Ren Jianhua, which had been waiting quietly on the bedside table, sprang up simultaneously under the pull of the mental threads. Their bodies rapidly expanded and deformed in mid-air, instantly transforming from puppets a few inches tall into two life-sized, hideous zombies.

Their joints creaked and groaned as they lunged at the Asian girl, their mouths agape. They were far faster than ordinary people, forming a three-way attack with Li An's fleshy tentacles.

The Asian girl stood in the very center of a three-way attack. In front of her were Ang Lee's gun and tentacles, behind her were two fleshy octopuses, and to her left were two zombies, Doyle and Ren Jianhua.

Then she gave a disdainful laugh.

Just then, Li An saw a beam of light, a solid, silvery-white lightning bolt.

Lightning exploded indiscriminately in all directions, centered on the girl's body.

Each arc of electricity was as thick as an arm, silvery-white with a faint bluish-purple tinge. When it cleaved through the air, it produced a series of dense cracking sounds, like hundreds of whips lashing out in the air at the same time.

The entire room was bathed in a blinding white light, and all the darkness was illuminated in an instant.

The two fleshy octopuses that pounced from behind were the first to be hit. The moment their bodies came into contact with the electric arc, they turned into wisps of black smoke, leaving not even ashes behind.

Following closely behind were four fleshy tentacles, their tips already close to the girl's body, but they all turned black the moment they hit the electric arc, shattering into charred chunks from their tips and scattering across the floor.

Ang Lee felt a burning pain in his left arm. The electric current from the carbonized flesh was flowing backward along the nerves, and the pain made his fingers almost spasm.

Doyle and Ren Jianhua fared even worse. The two zombies rushed to the girl's side, and two bolts of lightning struck their chests, the arcs of electricity piercing their bodies and blasting them off the ground.

Doyle crashed into the wardrobe, smashing a large dent into the wooden door, sending splinters of wood flying everywhere. Ren Jianhua slammed into the wall, creating a spiderweb-like crack in the surface, before both of them slid to the floor, wisps of smoke rising from their bodies.

Two thin threads of emotion snapped simultaneously, and Ang Lee felt a sharp pain in his head.

The bullet that Li An fired was not spared either; it was already spinning and flying toward the girl's face, but lightning was faster than a bullet. A thick arc of electricity shot out from behind the girl and struck the bullets that were flying through the air.

Several metal bullets were heated to a red-hot color in the electric arc, then changed direction and were flung back by electromagnetic force, flying backwards and smashing into Li An's chest.

Immediately afterwards, a second arc of electricity struck Li An's right hand, which was holding the gun. The current traveled from his hand to the gun, causing it to explode and fly out of his hand, crashing into the wall.

This moment caused Li An's momentum to falter as he bent his arm to block, and the stray bullet seized the opportunity to strike him hard in the chest, blasting a bloody hole above his heart.

Ang Lee's body was sent flying, his back slamming onto the mattress. The white sheets were crumpled from the impact, and blood seeped from the bullet hole in his chest, staining the white sheets with a few bloodstains.

His fingers were still twitching uncontrollably from the residual current, and his right palm was charred black from the shock, with a bit of melted pistol grip stuck to it. His hair stood on end due to the current, emitting a faint burnt smell.

The walls were charred black, the smoke detector on the ceiling was blown apart by an electric arc, and the remaining wires were still hissing and sparking. The fire sprinklers also started up and sprayed water.

The bloody remains on the carpet were still emitting black smoke, and the curtains, burned by an electric arc, had a charred hole through which the city lights shone.

The Asian girl stood in the very center of the mess.

She raised her head, and the mouth under the brim of her hat moved again. Her voice was still soft and cute, but this time it carried a lazy, condescending, and playful tone.
