Cthulhu Panel: One organ mutates every day

Chapter 62 I'll Eat You Tomorrow

"Match over!"

The referee finished speaking.

In Wayne's perception.

The spotlight beam stopped swaying.

The previously noisy jazz music then stopped.

The surrounding crowd stopped moving and everyone held their breath.

On the stage, the row of middle-aged and elderly people in suits sitting in front of the wooden table all stopped eating.

Ignoring the food scraps on their lips and the sticky grease on their shirts, they all stood up, their posture upright and their eyes solemn.

Wayne saw that behind the gray-haired girl, the white-haired middle-aged man bowed and said something to her.

Because of the distance, only the white-haired man's mouth could be seen, and his voice could not be heard clearly.

The referee on the stage, holding a microphone, passionately proclaimed:

"Congratulations to contestant number 69! You've won the championship in this competitive eating contest! This is a victory for contestant number 69! And a victory for us all! She defeated those damn capitalists and politicians! She is our hope! From now on, all drinks are free! Drink as much as you like! Let's cheer for contestant number 69!"

As the referee finished speaking.

The gray-haired girl smiled gently, her pink lips slightly parted, and said casually, "I'll stop eating here for today. I need to go digest my food."

The girl's voice, however, was deafening, transcending spatial distances and resounding throughout Times Square, reaching Wayne's ears.

She walked lightly and happily towards the audience.

The cheers from the audience rose to another level.

As Wayne stood in the crowd, he felt the cheers spreading outward from the center of Times Square, reaching the main streets and sweeping across the entire city.

A more upbeat and cheerful jazz tune with drumbeats then began.

The spotlight became dazzling and swayed wildly.

The whole city is celebrating.

Wei En was also genuinely delighted and overjoyed.

I witnessed this historic moment myself. Contestant number 69, representing the people, defeated the superiors. This is a victory that should be remembered forever!

Harrington, who was standing nearby, had somehow gotten two bottles of liquor and was chugging them down while loudly cheering for contestant number 69.

Wei En opened his mouth, instinctively wanting to cheer for contestant number 69.

But he found that the cheers of the crowd around him were too noisy, and he couldn't hear what they were cheering about at all.

But none of that matters anymore.

because.

He noticed that after the gray-haired girl stepped off the stage, she once again filled his field of vision. Her hands were gently folded behind her back, and she walked towards him with a hint of joy.

The crowd ahead cheered and made way for the gray-haired girl, welcoming her arrival.

The fans on both sides were jumping, shouting and cheering, seemingly excited to see contestant number 69 up close and dancing wildly for his presence.

Wei En inexplicably felt that the crowd around him was also dispersing outwards, and people behind him gradually began to push him, one push after another. It was many hands, seemingly the hands of many fans.

They clamored and jeering, as if determined to push him in front of the gray-haired girl.

Wei En was at a loss, having unwittingly become the center of attention.

But at this moment, his vision was filled only with the gray-haired girl. The image of the gray-haired girl was as if it were etched onto his retina.

She had soft features, a delicate nose, and wore a simple, light gray cotton dress with a white tinge to her hair. Her long, dark gray wavy hair was wild and fluffy, blowing out to both sides, exuding a broken and messy beauty.

She no longer looked like an eighteen or nineteen-year-old girl, but more like a young woman. She was taller than before, looked like she was in her twenties, and appeared to be a few years older than before.

She walked lightly to him, her hands behind her back.

She leaned forward slightly, tilted her head back, looked at him with her small, bright eyes, and said with a smile:

"hello!"

Wayne stood frozen in place, surrounded by waves of cheers and shouts.

The fans seemed excited by her greeting, and also seemed to envy that they could interact with her in person.

Their gasps spread rapidly, seemingly originating in the heart of Times Square, spreading along the streets, gradually taking over the entire city, and shaking the night sky.

Wayne opened his mouth, as if to reply with a "hello," but he wasn't sure if he actually made a sound.

It may have made a sound, but it was drowned out by the cheers of the crowd.

It's also possible that it simply opened its mouth but didn't make a sound.

The gray-haired woman simply folded her hands behind her back, leaned forward, and wore a youthful and innocent smile on her slightly upturned face.

"How have you been lately? Did you like the gift I gave you before?"

Faced with this sudden show of concern, Wayne was taken aback.

After the initial shock came a wave of warmth and emotion.

Her voice was gentle and kind; she was concerned about me.

Having arrived in this strange world all alone, I was surprised to find someone genuinely inquiring about my well-being.

Wayne was completely moved.

All the unease, the hesitation, the fear, the confusion, the doubt, and the sorrow were dispelled by her care.

The surrounding cheers faded away, grew weaker, and dissipated, gradually becoming indistinct.

All that remains is pure joy, if joy could also be transformed into a sound.

Wayne smiled and nodded, then opened his mouth again, trying to say, "I'm fine, thank you," but the syllables seemed to be forced back into his lungs, unable to come out for a long time.

He clearly felt that he could not speak or make a sound.

The gray-haired woman leaned closer to Wei En, gently sniffing him. A hint of wickedness mingled with her docile demeanor as she moved her eyes thoughtfully.

"You seem a little different lately, you taste even better. Come back tomorrow and let me eat you again, okay?"

The world fell silent, with only heavy breathing remaining.

Wayne didn't respond immediately, but was instead deeply attracted by the gray-haired woman's pupils.

Her eyes were filled with tiny, fragmented pupils, layered upon layered, swirling slowly like a vortex. Each fragment reflected his face, encompassing all that had happened in the past, transcending time and space—him lonely, his disheveled, his bewildered, his weary, his heartbroken, his desolate…

She only had eyes for me, and she was the only one who noticed that I was different.

I used to be needed a lot, and my existence seemed to have taken on a different meaning.

Wei En, craving this warm sense of belonging, opened his mouth, strained his throat and vocal cords with all his might, and uttered a single syllable:

"it is good."

As Wayne finished speaking, the cheers that had disappeared around him returned to his ears, loud and deafening.

Light and melodious jazz music floated in the air.

"They were all cheering for the wonderful interaction between me and her."

Wei En was overjoyed.

He saw someone in the crowd pry open a bottle of champagne, and as if the bottle had exploded, the white foam sprayed into the air from the neck of the bottle.

Then, champagne bottles were opened one after another, with popping sounds that even drowned out the jazz music.

Cheers and applause continued unabated.

He saw that, amidst the dazzling neon lights, a shower of golden wine, laden with white foam, was pouring down on him from all directions.

He felt his whole body becoming lighter, floating, itchy, and numb, accompanied by a sense of weightlessness, as if he were merging into the air, into the music, into the rain of alcohol...

Forget your troubles, forget your worries.

Without realizing it, he slowly began to move his limbs and started dancing to the music.

At first, his dance steps were slightly unsteady, his arms swayed casually, and he slowly spun to the beat of the jazz music.

But soon, he became more and more in tune with the rhythm, and even though his dance steps were clumsy and haphazard, he still managed to fully unleash his potential.

He leaped lightly, spun around, kicked away the rain of wine in mid-air, and then slid and twirled through the gaps in the cheering crowd. He landed, bent over, spun around, raised his arms, and froze. Then he took a lunge, tiptoed, and broke free of all his shackles in the spotlight.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Harrington not far away also take off his shirt, revealing his beer belly, and dance a jazz ballet-style dance to the beat of the beer rain.

The excess fat on his body jiggled and bounced, carrying the comical feeling of the older generation liberating their nature.

Behind Harrington, countless dancers were lost in the music, seemingly enjoying this moment of carefree joy with Wayne.

The gray-haired woman stood in the center of the crowd, taking in the entire scene.

Her eyes crinkled slightly, she smiled quietly, and gently waved to the other side, saying:

"I'm full from the main meal. I'm going to the seal in 076 for some soup."

Soon, the white-haired middle-aged man in a suit arrived and bowed as he reported something to her.

The other side of Times Square.

The massive crowd moved in perfect unison, clearing a path for each other.

The gray-haired woman walked ahead with her hands folded behind her back, taking small steps, while the white-haired middle-aged man followed behind her with utmost respect.
