Chapter 39 Underwater Combat

After falling into the water, the pirate thrashed about frantically for a few moments before spotting Leng Feng at the bottom of the boat. He was still clutching the AK-47 in his hand, and without hesitation, he raised it, aimed it at Leng Feng, and pulled the trigger.

Leng Feng's heart skipped a beat, and he instinctively tried to dodge to the side—but this was underwater, and his movements were so slow they were practically in slow motion, that he couldn't possibly dodge it.

However, just as the pirate pulled the trigger, the water in the chamber caused a major disaster. The ejection port exploded with a "bang," the gun jolted violently, and the pirate's left hand, which was gripping the gun, was instantly ripped open, and blood immediately spread into the sea.

The pirate was in so much pain that he spat out a string of bubbles and tried to struggle to float to the surface.

Leng Feng was overjoyed and quickly swam towards the wounded pirate. But before he had swum two meters, there were two more splashes—two more pirates had jumped into the water. The one closest to him was only an arm's length away, almost face to face.

Leng Feng immediately shifted his target, grabbing the man by the collar with one hand and yanking him over, then kicking him hard in the stomach. The pirate gurgled and choked on a mouthful of salty, bitter seawater.

At this moment, the pirate with the injured hand surfaced and was yelling outside, calling for his companions to come and help.

Leng Feng couldn't care less about anything else at that moment, because another pirate who had jumped down was closing in. The man was holding a machete, the blade gleaming dimly underwater, and he swung it down towards Leng Feng's neck.

Leng Feng suddenly leaned back, the blade grazing his chin. At the same time, he raised his hand, grabbed the man's wrist holding the knife, and twisted it forcefully in the opposite direction—a muffled "crack" was heard in the water, and the pirate's thumb was dislocated. The pirate opened his mouth, wanting to scream in pain, but only a bunch of bubbles came out.

Leng Feng pulled a fishing line from his pocket and quickly wrapped it around the man's wrist several times. Then he suddenly dodged the pirate's kick, and in the process, wrapped the fishing line around the man's ankle twice.

The pirate, with one hand and one foot bound, panicked and focused on untying the fishing line binding him.

Leng Feng caught up with the pirate who had choked on water after being kicked in the stomach. He grabbed the pirate's ankle and pulled hard, dragging the pirate's head back underwater. The pirate choked on seawater again. While the pirate was choking, Leng Feng quickly wrapped the fishing line around the struggling pirate's foot twice, then pulled hard on one end of the line, instantly tying the two pirates together.

The two pirates, bound together, panicked and struggled desperately in the water, kicking and thrashing about, but the more they struggled, the tighter the fishing line became, digging into their flesh. Since they were entangled, neither could surface for air; bubbles gurgled from their mouths, growing denser and denser, indicating that their oxygen was running out.

At that moment, the people on the ship heard the cries for help from the pirate whose arm had been injured by the exploding barrel. Two more pirates, armed with short knives, jumped off the ship and flanked Leng Feng from the left and right.

Leng Feng quickly swam backward, surfaced to catch his breath, and when he submerged again, the two pirates had already caught up with him—both of them raised their knives and stabbed him in the stomach.

Leng Feng suddenly raised his leg, his foot pushing off the shoulder of the pirate on his right. Using the force, his body lurched backward like a fish. But the pirate on his left's knife still grazed his side, and a searing pain instantly spread throughout his body.

Leng Feng gritted his teeth and remained silent. Before the pirate could retract his hand, he grabbed his wrist and kicked him hard in the stomach with his other leg. The kick was quite powerful; the pirate failed to hold his breath, exhaled a string of bubbles, and instinctively tried to float to the surface.

Leng Feng grabbed his collar and pulled him down. At the same time, he dodged the second slash from the pirate on the right. He flipped the drowning pirate in his hand over, making him face the pirate on the right, and pushed him towards him.

The one who was drowning was in a panic, grabbing at anything he could see—he grabbed his companion and pressed him down hard so he could float to the surface and catch his breath.

The pirate on the right was being held back by him and couldn't shake him off at all. The two of them were entangled together, rolling around in the water.

Leng Feng ignored them and turned to swim towards the speedboat they had disembarked from. Before getting into the water, he saw that there were originally five people on the speedboat, but now all five were in the water, and there was no one on the boat.

The pirate with the injured arm was struggling by the side of the ship, grabbing the edge with one hand and trying to climb up, but his other hand was injured and was so painful from being soaked in the salt water that he couldn't use it. He slipped back down several times.

Leng Feng swam to the side of the boat in a few strokes. He reached out and grabbed the injured pirate's ankle, pulling hard—the man gulped down another mouthful of seawater, his hand slipped from the side of the boat, and he was pulled into the water. Taking advantage of this opening, Leng Feng pushed himself up with both hands and climbed onto the speedboat.

He still had the key to the speedboat, so he turned it, and the engine sputtered to life. He gripped the steering wheel and pushed the accelerator to the floor—the speedboat shot forward, its bow rising and cleaving the water, leaving the pirates behind dozens of meters behind.

Only then did Leng Feng notice that two hundred meters away, another speedboat was rushing towards him at high speed. There were four people on board, two of whom were already firing AK47s at him.

Bullets whizzed past him, striking the ship's hull and sending up shards of debris. At the stern, another pirate crouched beside the engine, an RPG slung over his shoulder, trying to aim in his direction.

Leng Feng cursed and suddenly lay down, shrinking his entire body inside the boat.

"I'm doomed, I'm going to die here." This thought flashed through his mind, and he began to plan his escape by jumping into the sea.

Just then, his eyes swept to the very back of the ship's hull, where a Remington M700 sniper rifle lay lying.

Leng Feng was immediately delighted. He grabbed the sniper rifle, pulled back the bolt, and saw that there was a bullet inside. He decisively chambered the bullet, then leaned out halfway, raised the rifle, and aimed at the pirate carrying the RPG.

When the pirate was about 150 meters away from him, Leng Feng held his breath, stared at the crosshair, and placed his finger on the trigger.

"Bang!"

A gunshot rang out.

A burst of blood erupted from the pirate's knee, and he lurched forward, losing his balance. In the instant he fell, his finger pulled the trigger of the RPG.

"Whoosh—"
