The giant snake was only a little over a meter away from her. It was running quite fast.

Just as Lin Yue was about to run down the mountain, she immediately turned her head back.

"No, we can't run down the mountain. What if it hurts someone if we bring it down?"

Just as Lin Yue was wondering where to lead this stinky snake, she felt a chill on her ankle and then she was about to fall to the ground.

As a result, she fell and landed directly on the large snake. Before she could even react, the snake had completely wrapped itself around her.

"Hey, let me go. Or I'll get rough!"

Lin Yue freed her hands and was about to take out a cleaver from her spatial storage.

A tickling sensation came over my face. Looking closer, I saw the snake's head was right in front of me; it had just been licking my face with its tongue.

"What are you doing?"

Lin Yue didn't dare move, her heart pounding so hard it felt like it would jump out of her chest. She was terrified that this thing would open its huge mouth and swallow her whole.

The snake's head moved even closer, and Lin Yue could smell the muddy, fishy odor emanating from it.

"Don't eat me! Don't bite me! If you dare open your mouth, I'll chop your head off!"

Lin Yue was ready to fight it to the death at any moment, but just then, she felt a cold sensation on her face. The big head was actually rubbing against her face.

The anticipated binding force did not increase. The giant snake relaxed its body, its massive head lowered gently, and its rough, cool scales rubbed against her arm, its forked tongue flicking in and out.

There was not a trace of ferocity in it; it seemed to be seeking comfort, openly revealing an innate closeness.

Lin Yue was dumbfounded. What did that mean? The snake wasn't biting her; was that a sign of affection?

"Let go of me." Seeing that the snake was behaving reasonably well, Lin Yue didn't take out her knife, but reached out and tentatively pushed the snake's head.

The snake immediately offered its head to her hand.

"This... could it really be sentient? Did Gu Jingyan adjust the speed of the space? It's only been two days since we were sent there, and it's already grown this big."

Lin Yue's consciousness can enter the space, so naturally she cannot sense time within it.

The snake slowly loosened its grip, and Lin Yue stepped onto the ground. However, the snake continued to stare at her.

"Hey, I've already let you out. You should run away now, go into the mountains, okay? Why are you staring at me?"

Lin Yue pointed in the direction of the deep mountains.

But the giant snake seemed to understand, wagging the tip of its tail in front of her eyes, showing no intention of leaving.

"If you don't leave, and someone finds you here, you're finished. I'm telling you, if someone reports you, they'll definitely come and arrest you."

Lin Yue's understanding of the white-striped rat snake was that it was the most common local non-venomous snake, timid and not likely to attack people. But that was a normal, ordinary small snake. Now that it has grown like this, if someone saw it, they would be terrified.

The giant snake's eyes were fixed on Lin Yue, its gaze filled with naivety. It didn't understand...

Lin Yue felt that the snake might not understand her meaning. Since the snake liked to follow her, she would lead it deeper into the mountains.

So I turned around and headed back into the mountains. Oh right, it seems there are restricted areas further in. I'll just take it to one of those restricted areas.

So Lin Yue walked inside, and the giant snake followed behind her. But after only a few minutes, the snake crawled between her legs.

Before Lin Yue could react, she was already straddling the snake's back. This creature was actually going to carry her.

"You scared me to death. Could you at least say hello?" Lin Yue clutched her chest and patted the snake.

When she patted him, the giant snake stopped again. It turned its head and stared at Lin Yue with its two amber vertical pupils, as if asking her what was wrong.

"It's alright, let's keep going, deeper in." Lin Yue pointed into the deep mountains.

The giant snake understood now, and happily carried Lin Yue, swaying as it climbed into the mountain.

I must say, riding a snake for the first time felt pretty good.

It got cooler the further in you went. I don't know how much time passed, but then I heard the sound of water ahead.

By the way, there's a river here, and the water in the river all comes down from this mountain.

Seeing the sunlight ahead, Lin Yue knew there were probably no more trees here.

She held the snake's body. She needed to make it stop so she could go outside and check if anyone was there, lest she frighten them.

Fortunately, it was indeed a large river outside, but because it hadn't rained much lately, the riverbed was mostly filled with rocks, and the water was only knee-high.

However, looking downstream, Lin Yue could still feel the Chinese people's love for green mountains and clear waters. Someone had actually driven into these mountains; about two or three hundred meters away, she saw a white car and several figures.

Lin Yue sighed. Where could she put such a big snake? What if it went out to find food and got discovered?

"Let's go upstream a bit further, until there's no one around, then we can cross the river."

Lin Yue then mounted the snake's body and pointed out the way to it.

The man and the snake continued their journey.

A young man over there was filming with a camera when he inadvertently witnessed this scene.

"Holy crap, what's that?"

"What are you yelling about?" His companion immediately ran to his side.

"Look what I just filmed!" The young man zoomed in on the video he had just taken.

"This...this looks like a snake, and there's a person sitting on it. Are you photoshopping this?" His companions burst into laughter when they saw it.

"What do you mean I photoshopped the picture? I just took it, it's right there in front of me."

The young man pointed to the spot where Lin Yue and the others had just walked, but when everyone looked over, there was nothing there.

"Really? You didn't Photoshop it, it's not AI?"

"No, I swear. Even editing a photo in such a short time would take time. I need to go check it out."

The young man immediately jogged ashore as he spoke.

"Together, together."

Lin Yue had no idea that she was about to have her face photographed. She was still traveling on the giant snake, and although they were in the mountains, they soon came across a small village. Finding a secluded spot was proving difficult.

After going around in circles, it ran back to where it started.

"You should find a place to stay here from now on. Don't go down the mountain. If you see anyone, run away. Don't get caught."

Lin Yue stroked the snake's head, hoping to keep it there. However, the large snake didn't react much and couldn't speak, so Lin Yue had no idea what it wanted.

"I'm leaving, you should leave too."

Lin Yue waved to the giant snake. Then she planned to go back down the mountain path.

Lin Yue realized that the snake could understand what she was saying and could recognize her when giving directions.

She should understand waving goodbye, but as soon as she left, the giant snake followed her again.

Before she could react, she was riding on the snake again.
