Marriage is long and desires are strong

Chapter 2 Now let's go get the marriage certificate.

What followed unfolded rapidly before Jiang Wei's eyes.

A thick stack of prenuptial agreements, five of the country's top lawyers explained the contents of the agreements to Jiang Wei in detail.

Qin Xiaoye did not mistreat her; he paid her 8 million RMB per month, increasing by 800% annually, year after year.

Qin Xiaoye's assistant, Xiang Dong, carefully chose his words: "Ms. Jiang, although we don't restrict your private life, if your actions affect the stock price of Mr. Qin's company, Mr. Qin will hold you accountable."

The agreement did not specify what would happen if the breach of contract occurred.

Jiang Wei: "How will you pursue this matter?"

Xiang Dong looked intently at Jiang Wei: "Ms. Jiang, you don't want to know."

A chill rose from the soles of Jiang Wei's feet, slowly seeping into her body.

The legitimate or illegitimate methods used by wealthy and powerful families are not written into contracts.

But the methods must be cruel and effective.

Xiang Dong was very polite and hinted, "Ms. Jiang, if you have any other requests, please feel free to make them."

Jiang Wei: "I have no other requests."

She understood Xiang Dong's implication: the price could be increased.

However, Jiang Wei intended to transfer all the money Qin Xiaoye gave her to the Jiang family as compensation for their upbringing. Furthermore, her marriage to Qin Xiaoye had resulted in the Qin family's significant financial contributions to the Jiang family, which was already on the verge of bankruptcy. She had no choice but to ask Qin Xiaoye for more money.

After she finally finished signing the thick stack of papers, she let out a deep breath.

The lawyers filed out with the agreement.

Only Qin Xiaoye and she remained in the restaurant.

Qin Xiaoye, dressed in a black suit, stood by the window with his back to Jiang Wei, hands in his pockets, relaxed and calm, speaking fluent French on his phone.

Bamboo grove, rain and mist, wooden eaves, dripping water.

The wind chimes mingled with the distant chanting, their sounds slow and gentle.

His strong, well-defined muscles filled out his suit, and his voice, with its intonation and cadence, echoed along with the sound of rain on the rooftop—magnetic, husky, and incredibly pleasant to listen to.

Qin Xiaoye seemed to sense something, slowly turned around, and looked at Jiang Wei.

It was serene and leisurely.

He said something into the phone, hung up, strode over, stood in front of Jiang Wei, and enveloped her.

His voice was low and husky: "Miss Jiang, let's go get our marriage certificate now."

Jiang Wei had just picked up her teacup when she heard this, so she stopped, knocked the teacup over, and let it roll down wet.

She panicked and became flustered.

Qin Xiaoye looked at her with a calm expression.

Jiang Wei looked at the spilled tea, stood up, and lowered her eyes: "Okay."

If we get the marriage certificate, wouldn't that mean... we have to... do it tonight?

Jiang Wei's body radiated heat in a fine, dense pattern.

Qin Xiaoye turned slightly to the side, the dim light illuminating his handsome face, revealing his deep-set eyes: "Let's go?"

Jiang Wei nodded.

Qin Xiaoye walked to the restaurant entrance, where bodyguards on both sides opened the door for him. He picked up the black umbrella placed at the door, opened it, leaving half of it exposed, and turned to look at Jiang Wei.

Jiang Wei quickly stepped under the umbrella, leaving a slight gap between them.

The long corridor winds its way through the distance, the wooden pillars soaked with rainwater, revealing a warm and dark texture, and the dampness, along with the tranquility, spreads out layer by layer.

At the end of the corridor, a black, extended Lincoln limousine was parked quietly.

Stepping onto the stone path, the view expands, revealing a hazy, lush green landscape softened by the mist and rain.

The fragrance of flowers and grass mingled, and the rain curtain blended with the deep green, gently wetting the ground.

Their arms were slightly close together, and Jiang Wei could smell the cool woody scent on him mixed with the damp smell of rain, cold and restrained, lingering faintly around them.

As I approached the car, two bodyguards respectfully opened the door, holding black umbrellas over their hands.

Qin Xiaoye closed the umbrella, handed it to the bodyguard, and got into the back seat of the car.

Jiang Wei followed her inside. Inside the car, Qin Xiaoye's scent became more pronounced, no longer a faint sense of composure, but a wild and intoxicating aroma that made Jiang Wei feel dizzy.

Guides are naturally sensitive to the scents of sentinels, especially those with a high soothing compatibility score.

The back seats of the car were spacious, and Jiang Wei made sure to leave room for them.

Qin Xiaoye turned his head and glanced at the large, spacious blank space.

Jiang Wei crossed her arms and looked out the car window at the rain; the early spring rain was full of vitality.

Even from a distance, Qin Xiaoye's body temperature diffused and transferred to Jiang Wei, acting like a heat source.

Qin Xiaoye: "Xiang Dong, turn up the air conditioning temperature."

Xiang Dong: "Yes."

The "click-click" sound of adjusting the air conditioning temperature could be heard inside the car.

Qin Xiaoye took off his black suit jacket and handed it to Jiang Wei.

Jiang Wei paused for a moment, then parted her soft, full lips slightly: "Thank you, Mr. Qin."

The sound flowed into my ears like clear mountain spring water.

Their fingertips gently intertwined at the edge of their black suits, and a steady stream of warmth emanated from where their fingers met. Jiang Wei's hand went numb, and her breathing became erratic. She quickly hooked her hand around the suit and pulled it back.

Qin Xiaoye withdrew his empty hand, turned on his computer, and began working.

As Xiang Dong drove, he glanced at the small blanket that was always kept in the glove compartment and a slight smile appeared on his lips.

Qin Xiaoye's fingertips still carried a soft, smooth touch. He gently rubbed his two fingers together, trying to shake off this unfamiliar, moist feeling.

His fingertips tapped on the keyboard, making a soft "tap-tap" sound.

He lowered his eyes and twirled his fingers again.

Jiang Wei put on Qin Xiaoye's suit. The oversized black suit covered her up, and a masculine aura enveloped her, seeping into her skin and making her feel as if she had been burned by the intense aura.

In no time, my cold body warmed up.

She pulled her clothes tighter around her, listening to the clicking of her keyboard and the patter of the rain, and drifted off to sleep.

Qin Xiaoye turned his head and his eyes fell on the woman who was dozing off next to him. Her fair face was wrapped in a black suit, her eyelashes were long and trembling slightly, her face was flushed from sleep, and her pink lips shone with a soft light.

He turned to look at his fingers, rubbed them together, and felt a tingling sensation.

He lowered his head and continued typing, but much slower.

For some reason, the scent emanating from the woman in the car kept drawing him in. He took slow, deep breaths, feeling a growing sense of unease.

It smells like the morning sunlight, soft and moist.

It also resembles a ripe peach, emitting a faint fruity aroma.

Qin Xiaoye looked at the experimental data sent by the company's medical investment department rather casually.

The car stopped at the entrance of the Civil Affairs Bureau.

Qin Xiaoye turned his head and saw that Jiang Wei was still sleeping in her suit, wrapped up tightly, with only her head visible.

Qin Xiaoye closed his laptop, and through his suit jacket, gently patted her arm: "Miss Jiang."

Jiang Wei, still half-asleep, reached out and slapped his hand away: "How many more eggs are there to cut?"

Qin Xiaoye looked at the fair, delicate arm that peeked out from under the suit, patted it on his hand, and it landed on the black suit.

His hands felt numb from being patted.

When Jiang Wei opened her eyes and saw Qin Xiaoye's face, her heart sank. She remembered what she had just said and felt so embarrassed that she wanted to disappear.

She quickly sat up straight, the suit jacket slipped off her body, revealing her fair neck. The jacket hung below her chest, making her figure appear voluptuous.

She hurriedly explained, "Sorry, I often cut... no, I'm busy with work, so..."

Qin Xiaoye looked directly at her: "Miss Jiang, we've arrived."

Jiang Wei looked outside at the entrance of the Civil Affairs Bureau.

She gave a soft "oh" and swallowed hard.

The rain and fog were still falling, but they had lessened a bit.

The bodyguard opened the car door, and Qin Xiaoye, holding a black umbrella, greeted Jiang Wei at the door.

Jiang Wei thought to herself, "As expected, wealthy and powerful families have good upbringing. Even with a wife they have no feelings for, they are still elegant and proper."

Jiang Wei placed the suit jacket in the back seat of the car, stepped out, and whispered, "Thank you."

The two walked into the Civil Affairs Bureau together.

The Civil Affairs Bureau only accepted them as a couple.

Standing at the window, Qin Xiaoye turned to Jiang Wei and said, "ID card."

Jiang Wei took it out of her bag and placed it in Qin Xiaoye's hand. Her fingertips lightly touched Qin Xiaoye's palm like a feather, and then she left.

Qin Xiaoye's palms tingled with a fleeting itch.
