Desert Island Survival: A Hundredfold Improvement After Having a Baby?

From the very first day the cruise ship capsized, Lin Fan's behavior was different from everyone else's.

Unlike others, he didn't loot luxury goods and wait for rescue.

Back then, he could find the one and only knife, find hidden caves, and even predict changes in the weather in advance.

Previously, Song Ya thought Lin Fan was a wilderness survival expert with a wealth of knowledge.

Now I understand everything.

This isn't some kind of knowledge reserve; this is like having a full map cheat!

No one spoke for the next few minutes; they seemed to be processing the news.

Zhou Kai looked at Lin Fan and realized that this explained how an intern could become the most successful survivor on the island.

Fortunately, he had latched onto the right person. Liu Feifei's throat was dry and sore. "Lin Fan."

"So... you knew from the very first day you were in trouble that rescue would never come, right?"

Lin Fan's expression remained largely unchanged.

"Um."

After Lin Fan finished answering, he ignored their messy thoughts.

He pointed to the bottle of insecticide and said, "Kai, go get the insecticide and clean up all those messy bugs around here."

Zhou Kai nodded, "Okay, Brother Fan, I'll go right away."

Lin Fan then turned his head and looked back at Su Qingxue.

Su Qingxue was watching as she conjured those things out of thin air.

She went from being a high-ranking CEO to a useless burden, and now she possesses the special ability to manipulate objects remotely.

In just three months, everything changed drastically, and she didn't know whether she should be happy or sad.

"President Su, stop daydreaming."

"When did you develop this ability?"

Su Qingxue looked away. "Yesterday."

"To be more precise."

"It was yesterday when I woke up, before you fed me porridge."

Lin Fan recalled the entire process of Su Qingxue fainting yesterday.

Later, after Xu Zhixia took her pulse, she confirmed that she was pregnant.

Pregnant?

On this island, the magnetic field is disordered, plants and animals are mutated, and ordinary physiological laws have long since become ineffective.

Wang Lan had been trying to conceive with Zhang Tao for so long without getting pregnant, and Liu Feifei had been living with Zhou Kai for a long time, yet her belly remained unchanged.

If they were physically weak, what about Wang Laoliu? He ate a lot of protein and was so strong, yet he didn't get his three women pregnant in a month.

This confirmed his earlier suspicion that it was very difficult for women to conceive here.

But Su Qingxue was the one who got it.

Even more coincidentally, she had just confirmed her pregnancy and fainted due to energy depletion. Upon waking up, she immediately awakened this ability to acquire resources.

If we connect these two things...

Lin Fan looked at Xu Zhixia.

"Dr. Xu, let's discuss a medical issue."

Xu Zhixia put down the herbs she was crushing, clapped her hands, and said, "Go ahead."

From a physiological perspective, how do the mother and fetus exchange substances during the process of pregnancy?

Xu Zhixia: "Mainly through the placenta, which is the link between the mother and the fetus. The mother's blood flows through the intervillous space of the placenta, and the fetus's blood flows within the villi."

"The two do not mix directly, but exchange substances through a semi-permeable membrane."

"The mother delivers oxygen and nutrients to the fetus. The fetus delivers metabolic waste back to the mother."

Lin Fan interlaced his fingers and rested his elbows on his knees.

"Besides nutrients and waste, what else is there?"

"Others?" Xu Zhixia pondered for a moment, "There are also antibodies. The mother's body passes immunoglobulins to the fetus, giving the baby a certain level of immunity after birth. Of course, a small number of fetal cells also enter the mother's bloodstream, which is medically known as microchimerism."

Microchimerism?

"In other words, the fetus's genetic material is actually stored in the mother's body. The two are symbiotic and even influence each other."

Xu Zhixia nodded. "Theoretically, that's true. But how does this relate to the survival issue we're discussing?"

Lin Fan stood up and slowly paced around the fire.

He thought back to yesterday when he was in the sea.

Falling, suffocating.

Then, a pale blue light curtain popped up on the retina.

[Body function optimization has been completed.]

Strength, speed, neural reflexes, cardiopulmonary function... have been enhanced to 300% of the normal human limit.

For the previous four months, he had played dead with his cheat code to an extremely thorough degree.

Just yesterday, he suddenly received a physical enhancement.

Even seasoned mercenaries like Wang Laoliu were utterly vulnerable in his hands.

Is this a coincidence?

Obviously not. Now let's look at Su Qingxue's mutations together.

The timing is perfectly aligned.

Su Qingxue conceived a fetus carrying his genes, triggering a certain mutation rule hidden on the island, thus awakening a cheat code for creating things out of thin air, or rather, some kind of special ability.

The fetus carries half of Lin Fan's genes.

Because of the bloodline connection, the rewards of this mutation rule were also fed back to his father.

That's why he suddenly experienced a 300% leap in physical function at that moment.

Lin Fan stopped and turned to look at the women in the cave.

His gaze swept over them one by one.

Su Qingxue felt uncomfortable under their gaze and subconsciously tugged at her collar.

Liu Feifei straightened her back, trying to show off her most advantageous curves.

"Dr. Xu," Lin Fan spoke again, "if my deduction is correct, this island has a completely illogical cause-and-effect logic."

"What kind of logic is that?"

"Procreation".

Lin Fan uttered two words.

Xu Zhixia didn't understand. "Reproduction?"

"On this desolate island on the edge of the Devil's Triangle, the plants and animals are mutating wildly. The environment here is extremely harsh, and the probability of mammals, including humans, leaving offspring here is extremely low."

Lin Fan walked up to Su Qingxue and pointed to the rice and the old swindler's mother on the ground.

"But the more difficult the conditions are to achieve, the greater the compensation and feedback will be once the conditions are met, thanks to some unknown magnetic field of the island."

"The most likely possibility is that I myself possess supernatural abilities, and these abilities were passed on to the fetus through my genes. Since the fetus shares a body with Su Qingxue, it is this ability that gives her special powers."

Lin Fan's words left all the women present stunned into silence.

Liu Feifei's mouth was wide open, and her chest heaved violently.

Song Ya stared blankly at Lin Fan.

Xu Zhixia didn't show much emotional fluctuation.

Where science fails to explain, bizarre logic becomes the only truth.

Liu Feifei's heart was pounding.

Her mind was working very fast.

If getting pregnant grants this incredible ability...

Does that mean that as long as you get pregnant with Lin Fan's child, you can do whatever you want on this island?

How can it transform from a potentially discarded burden into an indispensable core resource for the team?

If Su Qingxue gains the ability to conjure things out of thin air, will she gain the ability to stop time?

This business is too good to pass up.

Simply take off your clothes and spread your legs, and you can gain a supernatural ability in ten months.

This is much easier than trying to snag a leading lady role in the entertainment industry.

Liu Feifei's breathing quickened, and her perspective on Lin Fan completely changed.

Lin Fan noticed Liu Feifei's reaction, but instead of pointing it out, he continued to deduce the situation.

He had to confirm the most crucial step.

"Dr. Xu, you just mentioned that there is microchimerism between the fetus and the mother. From a genetic point of view, since the half of the fetus carries the father's genes, is there any resonance or information transmission during development?"

Xu Zhixia hesitated for a moment, "In modern medicine, after the father provides sperm, he no longer participates physically in the gestation process."

"But some ancient biological texts have said that there is a kind of dimensional connection between individuals who are directly related by blood, which cannot be proven by science."

"Of course, this is just a hypothesis. On this island..." Xu Zhixia paused, "anything is possible."

"Okay, anything is possible." Lin Fan walked to the rock wall.

He raised his right hand, and under everyone's gaze, Lin Fan grabbed a stone weighing several tens of kilograms.

He didn't make any effort to build up his strength.

With a sudden burst of strength, the five fingers gripped the edge of the stone.

Click.

Gravel fell down in a flurry.

Immediately afterwards, Lin Fan arrived at the platform, his arm muscles bulged instantly, and the stone flew out with his force.

The terrifying thing is that the rock actually flew to the sea more than 100 meters away.

Zhou Kai, who had just finished spraying insecticide at the entrance of the hole, dropped the aluminum can in his hand with a clatter to the ground.

He looked at the spot where the stone had fallen into the water, then at Lin Fan.

Is this even human?

Wang Laoliu's loss was not unjust; he had clearly encountered a prehistoric beast.

Lin Fan brushed the stone dust off his hands and looked at them.

"Do you understand now?"

"At the same time that President Su confirmed her pregnancy and awakened her abilities, my physical functions also crossed the threshold of human physiological limits. This must be the reward that this island bestows upon the sower."

A dead silence.

Xu Zhixia's mind was in turmoil.

She was a doctor, and she knew the human body better than anyone.

The stone was crushed with one hand and thrown so far.

Lin Fan's current physical body can no longer be considered purely human.

He is evolving into some higher level of being.

And the key to evolution is actually reproduction...
