It was already 4:30 PM when Chen Ye saw Arno and Stefan off.

Two black cars drove out of the racecourse gate. He stood at the gate for a while, waiting for the taillights to completely disappear before turning around and walking back.

Master Zhou was leading the workers to tidy up the stable when he saw Chen Ye coming over and put down the pitchfork in his hand: "Mr. Chen, the transfer of ownership of that golden Akhal-Teke horse is all done and has been sent to the people over there."

"Okay, thank you for your hard work."

When Chen Ye returned to the clubhouse lobby, Zheng Youyou was sitting on the sofa scrolling through her phone. Hearing footsteps, she looked up at him and asked, "Did you give it to her?"

"It's a gift." Chen Ye sat down next to her. "Arno really likes it."

Zheng Youyou put down her phone and turned to look at him: "What about the island purchase?"

"He gave me a suggestion: there's a real estate lawyer in French Polynesia who specializes in island transactions. I'll have Stefan send me his contact information later."

Chen Ye leaned back on the sofa and stretched. "For a deserted island of more than twenty acres, let's check the price first."

Zheng Youyou thought for a moment: "How big is about twenty acres?"

"A little over 80,000 square meters, enough to build several villas and a running track."

Zheng Youyou clicked her tongue and didn't say anything more. The two of them nestled quietly on the sofa for a while. The sky outside the French windows changed from pale blue to orange-pink, and the light slanted in through the glass, dyeing the floor a warm color.

About ten minutes later, Chen Ye's phone vibrated. It was a message from Stefan: "Chen, I've sent you the lawyer's contact information. His name is Pierre. He's been doing real estate transactions in Tahiti for twenty-six years and can communicate in both English and French."

I told him about you, and he said he's available to answer your call anytime.

Below was a screenshot of a business card, which showed a name, phone number, and email address.

Chen Ye saved the screenshot, replied with a thank you, then pulled his hand away from Zheng Youyou's shoulder and sat up straight.

"Just sent it." Chen Ye handed her his phone and showed it to her: "He's from French Polynesia, has been doing island transactions for 26 years, so he should have enough experience."

"Then will you contact them now?"

Chen Ye glanced at the time: "It's still morning there." He dialed the number on the business card, put it on speakerphone, and placed it on the coffee table. It rang three times before being answered. A middle-aged man with a French accent came through: "Hello, is this Mr. Chen?"

Chen Ye spoke into the phone: "Hello, this is Chen Ye. I was introduced by Mr. Stefan. I'm interested in private islands, and I heard you have suitable resources."

Jean-Pierre was silent for two seconds, then his voice became noticeably warmer: "Mr. Stefan mentioned you to me. What size and location of island are you looking for?"

"French Polynesia, at least 20 acres in size, preferably an undeveloped desert island, with water deep enough to dock yachts, and a beach is a plus."

Jean-Pierre seemed to be flipping through documents, and after a few seconds spoke: "I currently have three resources that meet your criteria."

The first one, located near the main island of Tahiti, is 22 acres in size, with a white sand beach on the west side and a pier area with water depths of about eight meters. The price is €18 million.

Eighteen million euros, which is equivalent to 140 million yuan. Chen Ye did the math in his head: "What about the other two?"

"The second one is in the Tuamotu Islands, thirty acres, with multiple beaches, better privacy, priced at 28 million euros."

The third and largest is 42 acres, but it's located in the north. The island currently lacks a freshwater source and requires desalination, costing 28 million euros.

Chen Ye listened and went through it in his mind.

If you're going to buy one, definitely buy the biggest one. Even if there's no fresh water source, don't forget you have the financial means.

"I'm more interested in the third one, the 42-acre one. Could you send me the detailed information? Photos, satellite images, and whether there are any existing buildings on the island?"

"No problem, Mr. Chen. I will send the materials to your email within 24 hours. Would you like me to arrange a site visit?"

"Let's review the information first, and then make arrangements once we've confirmed it."

"Okay, I'll prepare the materials right away and wait for your reply."

After hanging up the phone, Zheng Youyou pushed it back in front of Chen Ye, her expression somewhat complicated: "You always buy things this fast? You're ready to buy something after just one phone call?"

"Let's look at the materials first, then we'll talk." Chen Ye put his phone away. "Buying an island for over two hundred million isn't cheap. We can't just make a decision on a whim."

Zheng Youyou stared at him for several seconds: "You said that with such a serious expression, but why do I feel like you've already made up your mind?"

Chen Ye didn't deny it, and reached out to ruffle her hair: "You can look at the documents with me when they arrive."

Zheng Youyou leaned back on the sofa, tilting her head to look at the sky outside the window, which had turned a deep blue: "What are you going to call this island after you buy it?"

"I haven't decided yet. I'll think about it after I actually buy it."

The two sat quietly for a while longer, as night slowly crept in through the French windows.

Chen Ye reached out and turned on the light, the warm yellow light enveloping the entire living room. He stood up and walked to the window to look out. In the distance, at the end of the lawn, several lights were on in the stable, and the outlines of thirty horses were faintly visible in the twilight.

"I've arranged to have lunch with Zhang Yi tomorrow," Chen Ye turned to Zheng Youyou, "to discuss Xingye Capital's future investment direction. Are you coming?"

"Come on, I don't have anything else to do lately anyway, I'll hang out with you for a few days."

Chen Ye walked over, put his arm around her waist, and led her to the door: "Okay, tomorrow morning I'll take you to the horse farm for a ride, then we'll meet Zhang Yi at noon, and go home in the evening."

Zheng Youyou looked up at him: "Which home?"

"You can go back to whichever home you want."

Zheng Youyou pinched his waist lightly, but couldn't suppress the smile on her lips.

Chen Ye led her out of the clubhouse. In the night, the lights of the horse farm cast a warm glow on the ground, and the chirping of insects could be heard intermittently from the grass in the distance.

He took out his car keys and pressed the unlock button; the Cullinan's headlights flashed twice.

Before opening the car door to let Zheng Youyou get in, he glanced down at his phone. Pierre's email had arrived, with the subject line "Preliminary data on the 42-acre island."

Chen Ye glanced at it, put away his phone, bent down, and sat in the driver's seat.

The car drove out of the horse farm gate in the night, its headlights illuminating the main road leading to the city.

He glanced at Zheng Youyou in the passenger seat. She was looking down at her phone, her profile framed by the streetlights, the light and shadow creating a play of light and shadow, and a smile lingered on her lips.

"What are you thinking about?" Chen Ye asked.

Zheng Youyou looked up at him and said, "I was thinking that if you really buy that 42-acre island in the future, could I build my own little house on it?"

Chen Ye smiled and turned the steering wheel onto the main road: "Forty-two acres is enough to build a village. You can build as many houses as you want."

Zheng Youyou turned her phone over and placed it face down on her lap, tilting her head to look out the window. She didn't say anything more, but the curve of her lips was particularly noticeable in the light of the street lamp.
