Brother! This is the adoption certificate. I don't want your sister-in-law!

Chapter 59 Go and try your luck at No. 1 Middle School!

The alley is deep in the old residential area, with red brick walls on both sides, covered with half-dead ivy.

The setting sun couldn't shine in, making the whole alley gloomy.

When Su Xiao arrived at the alley entrance with Fang Yu and Wu Cheng, it was bustling with activity inside.

Xiao Sa and his men blocked the other end of the alley. A dozen or so thugs in No. 5 Middle School uniforms stood loosely, forcing Wu Mengmeng into a corner.

She leaned against the wall, clutching the sky-blue folding umbrella in her hand.

Half of her pigtails were loose, but there were no signs of crying on her face. Her eyes were fierce and stubborn, like a little wildcat cornered against a wall.

Xiao Sa stood in front of her, hands in his pockets, head tilted, smiling in what he thought was a very handsome manner: "Mengmeng, what's wrong with you? If you date me, who in No. 5 Middle School will dare to mess with you?"

"Fuck your mother!"

Wu Mengmeng cursed fiercely, her fingers gripping the umbrella handle tightly.

"Okay, okay, I like your stubbornness."

Xiao Sa sneered and said, "If you don't agree, then..."

Before he could finish speaking, a soccer ball suddenly flew over and hit him squarely on the back of the head, causing him to stumble forward two steps and almost fall over.

He clutched the back of his head and turned around furiously: "Who! Who the hell kicked that?!"

Everyone turned their heads at the same time, and three figures walked in from the alley entrance.

I recognize the guy on the right, Xiao Sa; he's Wu Mengmeng's brother, Wu Cheng.

He didn't recognize the one on the left, but he was tall and burly, standing like a city wall.

The one in the middle is quite tall, with a thuggish look on his face; he's practically the epitome of a thug.

The shadows of the three people were stretched long by the setting sun.

Xiao Sa frowned when he saw who it was.

They probably came to rescue Wu Mengmeng.

Sure enough, he turned to look at Wu Mengmeng, whose eyes sparkled as if she had seen a prince on a white horse.

The person who arrived was none other than the handsome and dashing Su Xiao.

Su Xiao stopped three steps away from Xiao Sa.

He didn't look at Wu Mengmeng, but at Xiao Sa.

In a voice that wasn't loud, but could be heard throughout the alley, he said, "So you're called Xiao Sa? You have some nerve, daring to mess with our boss's woman?"

Fang Yu and Wu Cheng, who had been so aggressive, suddenly looked bewildered upon hearing this and turned to look at him at the same time.

Boss?

What boss?

When did we get a boss?

Wu Cheng opened his mouth, wanting to ask on the spot, "Brother Su, who is our boss?", but Fang Yu, who reacted quickly, pinched him on the lower back, forcing him to swallow his words.

Wu Mengmeng was also stunned.

She stood in the corner, clutching an umbrella, her eyes wide open.

What boss's woman?

She was clearly his woman!

Her face flushed slightly, but she quickly regained her fierce expression.

Now is not the time to blush.

Xiao Sa touched the back of his head, where a small bump had formed, making him wince in pain.

He took a step closer, pointing his finger at Su Xiao's nose: "Where the hell do you think you are? You dare touch me!"

Wu Cheng sneered from the side, "What business is it of yours where I hang out?"

Xiao Sa's gaze shifted to Wu Cheng's face, a mocking smile playing on his lips: "Oh, isn't this Wu Cheng? What's this? Bringing two people to stand up for your sister? Where are your bunch of useless underlings?"

He took a step closer and poked Wu Cheng's shoulder with his finger. "A bunch of sissies, their legs go weak at the sight of blood. How dare you even come here..."

Wu Cheng's face turned ashen.

Because what Xiao Sa said was true.

His group of men were usually incredibly enthusiastic about flirting with female classmates, but when it came to actually taking action, they ran away faster than anyone else.

Su Xiao chuckled.

"So arrogant," he tilted his head and looked Xiao Sa up and down, "Looks like you're doing pretty well at No. 5 Middle School."

Xiao Sa turned her gaze back to Su Xiao, glanced at her from head to toe, but didn't recognize her.

"Who are you? And who's your boss? Tell him to come out!"

Fang Yu instantly switched into his dramatic mode, stepping forward and shoving him. "What do you care who our boss is? You think you're qualified to know? Have you ever heard of No. 1 Middle School?"

Xiao Sa was pushed back a step, her face flushing red.

The dozen or so thugs behind him took a step forward, looking menacing.

Xiao Sa sneered, "No. 1 Middle School, you've got some nerve, daring to interfere in our No. 5 Middle School's affairs. Believe me or not, I'll chop your hands off!"

"You fucking awesome?" Fang Yu, with his large physique, took a step forward, instantly scaring Xiao Sa and the others into retreating.

Su Xiao shook her head and chuckled, then walked up to him. "Jokes aside, don't joke about No. 1 Middle School. No. 5 Middle School isn't qualified to do that!"

Feeling humiliated, Xiao Sa pointed a finger at Su Xiao's face: "Fine, you three have guts. I have fifteen men here, today..."

"Stop spouting nonsense, damn it! Get him!"

Su Xiao suddenly shouted.

A van suddenly appeared at the alley entrance.

Before the car had even come to a complete stop, the door was flung open with a whoosh.

Six or seven migrant workers, dressed in overalls covered in white dust, jumped out of the vehicle, carrying wrenches, steel pipes, and steel bars.

They were all guys who had been brought over from the construction site. They were all big and strong, with muscles on their arms that looked like they were twisted steel bars.

What the hell is going on?

Xiao Sa's smile froze instantly.

The fifteen thugs collectively took a step back.

Then something unexpected happened.

A middle-aged migrant worker carrying a steel bar took two steps forward and then suddenly stopped.

He squinted, staring intently at one of the thugs.

It was a short man with dyed red hair who also saw the middle-aged migrant worker and was desperately trying to shrink behind others.

"You little brat."

The middle-aged migrant worker's voice was as deep as muffled thunder.

He threw the steel bar on the ground, strode over, grabbed the red-haired man by the ear, and pulled him out of the crowd.

Red Hair howled in pain, his head tilted as he was pulled so hard he had to stand on tiptoe.

"I'm working on construction sites carrying bricks to support your education, and you're here fighting with me?!"

The middle-aged migrant worker slapped the red-haired man on the back of the head, yelling, "You've wasted your education!"

Red Hair covered his ears, his face turning a deep purplish-red: "Dad, Dad! I was wrong! I just came to watch the fun."

"Watching the show? You're standing right across from our boss?"

The thugs nearby looked at each other, none of them daring to make a move.

Several people quietly retreated, afraid of being watched by acquaintances in their own family.

The second migrant worker recognized his own nephew, and the third migrant worker recognized Old Wang's son next door.

The atmosphere in the alley suddenly shifted from a potential brawl to a parent-teacher meeting.

Most of the fifteen people left; some were dragged away by their relatives by the ears, while others slipped away on their own in the chaos.

In no time, Xiao Sa was left all alone.

Xiao Sa stood there, her lips trembling.

His fifteen men became zero.

He looked at Su Xiao, at the migrant workers who were still disciplining their sons, and then at the empty space behind him.

Su Xiao was amused; she hadn't expected this scene.

Xiao Sa gritted his teeth and said, "Damn it, you tried to play dirty tricks on me? You just wait, I'll kill you all when I get out of here!"

Su Xiao smiled.

He then walked up to Xiao Sa with a cold laugh.

"It's no use arguing with me here. If you really have the guts, go try your luck at No. 1 High School!"

He was half a head taller than Xiao Sa, and when he looked down at him, his tone was flat and indifferent.

"Didn't you want to know who my boss is?"

He leaned close to Xiao Sa's ear, lowered his voice, and spoke in a volume that only the two of them could hear.

"Li Ze. Class monitor of Senior Three (12). Go find him if you dare."

"You fucking..."

Xiao Sa gritted her teeth and glared fiercely at Su Xiao. She wanted to take a step forward, but Fang Yu immediately grabbed her by the neck.

"You dare glare at me?"

Su Xiao raised her hand and slapped him across the face.

"Snapped!"

Xiao Sa was slapped to the ground and fell to the ground, her face turning red.

"Beat him up!" Su Xiao waved his hand, and Fang Yu and Wu Cheng, who had been impatiently waiting behind him, immediately came up and gave him a good beating.

"You dare touch our boss's woman? We'll teach you a lesson you won't forget!"

Su Xiao said coldly.

After waiting for a while, Xiao Sa, his face bruised and swollen, got up from the ground, raised his head, and said angrily, "Just you wait, tell your boss to wait!"

Xiao Sa turned and walked away, looking quite calm, but as she walked, she turned into a run when she was almost at the alley entrance.

His figure vanished in a flash at the alley entrance.

Su Xiao chuckled. So arrogant, yet so afraid of death.

The crowd dispersed.

After the migrant workers finished scolding their sons and nephews, they gradually dispersed, saying goodbye to Su Xiao before leaving and telling her to call him again if there was any work to be done next time.

Fang Yu stood there for a while before finally unable to resist leaning closer and asking, "Brother Su, who exactly is this 'boss' you were talking about? I didn't know we had a boss."

Su Xiao patted his shoulder seriously: "It's a secret."

"No, Brother Su..."

Fang Yu kept pressing for answers, but Su Xiao ignored him.

Wu Cheng scratched his head, still in a strange state of "who am I, where am I, what happened?" from the moment he arrived.

All he knew was that his sister had been cornered, so he asked Su Xiao for help. Su Xiao hired several migrant workers, one of whom was the father of the thug.

He was still processing how things had turned out this way.

Su Xiao walked around the two of them and went to the corner.

Wu Mengmeng was still standing there, leaning against the red brick wall, clutching the sky-blue folding umbrella in her hand.

One of her pigtails came undone, her eyeliner was a little smudged, but her eye sockets were red.

It wasn't the kind of redness from crying, but the kind from desperately holding back tears.

She looked up at Su Xiao, her lips moving slightly.

What do you want to say?

I want to say thank you, I want to ask why you came, and I want to ask if you care about me at all.

But all those words were stuck in his throat, and he couldn't utter a single one.

Su Xiao also looked at her.

He was silent for a moment, then spoke.

"What are you crying about? Give me back my umbrella."
