Death Train: SSS-level talent right from the start!

Chapter 6 [Corpse City] Corpse City Trial

No one moved in the carriage.

Forty people stood still, looking at the open door. Outside the door was billowing gray fog, and behind the gray fog was the ruined city covered in dark red.

"What are you standing there for? Do you want to be eliminated by the rules? Hurry up and get going."

Zhao Hai was the first to take a step.

Without hesitation or looking back, the 1.95-meter-tall man strode towards the car door.

His two henchmen immediately followed.

Li Jiahao glanced at Zhao Hai's retreating figure, then stepped out as well.

Sun Kai and Ma Wenbo followed him, one on each side.

Then came Zhou Yating. She took a deep breath, clenched her fists, and followed.

Then came the others.

They walked toward that door in waves, like a flock of sheep being herded to the slaughterhouse. The only difference was that some walked faster and some walked slower, but in the end, they all had to walk out.

Chen Ye was among the last batch to leave.

The system interface popped up on its own the moment he stepped out of the car.

The Survival Trial has begun!

Name: Chen Ye

[Trial Setting: Corpse Capital]

[Trial Difficulty: ★]

[Kill Points: 0]

Survival Points: 0

Countdown: 23:59:59

The survival trial has begun!

Chen Ye closed the system panel and quickly scanned his surroundings.

The enormous steam train, entirely black, resembled a steel beast crouching on the tracks, a product of the last century.

People gradually got off the train in all eight carriages.

Most of the students were wearing pajamas and barefoot, and many of the boys were only wearing boxer shorts, shivering in the cool morning breeze.

Only a very small number of people were properly dressed; these were probably people who hadn't gone to sleep when they were put on the train.

Chen Ye was also barefoot. He was glad that he had the habit of wearing pajamas to bed, otherwise he would be just like those boys who wore underwear.

The platform was in extremely poor condition, with the ground cracked in a spiderweb pattern.

The cracks were filled with a dark red, moss-like substance, and an even stronger stench of decay wafted out.

He looked up to see further into the distance, but his view was blocked by the gray fog.

The system interface displays the time; it's six in the morning. The sun hasn't risen yet, and only a thick layer of grayish-white mist hangs in the sky like cotton wool.

Visibility was only about 30 or 40 meters. Beyond that distance, everything would be swallowed by the fog, becoming blurry outlines and ghostly shadows.

"Class 3! Class 3 students, assemble here!"

A familiar voice came from the left side of the platform.

Chen Ye looked in the direction of the sound and saw Zhao Ruoxi.

This is their class teacher, in his thirties, not very tall, wearing a white short-sleeved shirt and dark sweatpants.

She was wearing sneakers, and her hair was tied in a high ponytail, making her look neat and tidy.

Compared to the others, her attire was clearly more suitable for this kind of place; it looked like she had been put on a death train while jogging at night.

"Teacher Zhao!"

"Teacher Zhao is here!"

The students from Class 3 all gathered in her direction.

Chen Ye and Qin Zhaoyang also went over.

There were two other people standing next to Zhao Ruoxi, a man and a woman.

The man was wearing black-rimmed glasses, a white short-sleeved shirt, and sweatpants.

The woman had short hair, an average appearance, and was wearing a gray hoodie and black sweatpants.

Zhao Ruoxi pointed to the two people next to her: "This is Fang Yuan from the Physics Department, Professor Fang. This is Lin Shuyao from the Fine Arts Department, Professor Lin. The three of us suddenly felt everything go black while we were jogging at night, and when we woke up we were on a train."

Fang Yuan adjusted his glasses and nodded slightly to everyone.

Lin Shuyao didn't stand on ceremony and asked directly, "How many people from your class were put on the train?"

Zhou Yating stepped forward: "In carriage number three, there are 21 people from our class three, as well as some students from other classes."

"Teacher Zhao, where are the others in carriage number four?"

Li Jiahao's voice slowly and deliberately interrupted.

Zhao Ruoxi glanced at him: "They've already formed a group in the carriage, and they have their own ideas."

Li Jiahao nodded slightly.

Chen Ye was also observing.

At this moment, the people on the platform are divided into several groups. It is obviously unrealistic to gather everyone together. Some students who have awakened powerful talents have already left the station.

Carriage number three had a relatively large number of people; only ten people left, while the remaining thirty people were planning to stick together.

Fang Yuan pushed up his glasses: "We did want to gather all the students together, but everyone in the carriage ran off as soon as they got off the train, without waiting to assemble."

"Ran away? Where did they go?"

Qin Zhaoyang's eyes widened.

"They ran off the platform, and we couldn't stop them."

Fang Yuan's tone carried a hint of helplessness.

"No one can stop someone from courting death."

Lin Shuyao's voice wasn't loud, but her tone was firm.

"Teacher Lin."

Zhao Ruoxi gently tugged at her sleeve, signaling her not to say anything too harsh.

Lin Shuyao pursed her lips and didn't say anything more.

Just then, a series of footsteps came from the gray fog, chaotic and hurried, interspersed with panting and suppressed screams.

A few seconds later, three figures emerged from the gray mist: two men and one woman.

"Teacher Zhao! Teacher Zhao!"

The girl spotted Zhao Ruoxi immediately and ran over almost crying.

She was a student in the same carriage as Zhao Ruoxi, and Chen Ye didn't recognize her, so she must be from another department.

"What's wrong? What happened?"

Zhao Ruoxi quickly went to meet her.

The girl was out of breath, tears streaming down her face. She pointed into the depths of the gray fog, her lips trembling as she managed to squeeze out a complete sentence.

"Someone's dead! Someone's dead!"

The air on the platform instantly dropped to freezing point.

"What did you say?" Zhao Hai strode forward. "Who died? How did they die?"

The girl was so intimidated by Zhao Hai's imposing manner that she took a half step back, but the boy next to her took over the conversation.

"It's someone from carriage number four."

The boy's voice trembled: "We don't know him. As soon as he got off the train, he ran towards the outside of the platform. He ran about two hundred meters, and suddenly something rushed out of the fog... that thing... that thing..."

His voice faltered.

"What is it? Explain yourself!"

Lin Shuyao pressed for an answer.

"It looks like a human, but it's not human. Its skin is gray, its eyes are completely black, and its mouth... its mouth opens much wider than a normal person's."

The boy swallowed hard and continued speaking.

"That thing rushed out of the fog, pounced on that classmate, and bit his neck... Blood spurted out so high..."

He gestured with his hand: "Then three or four of those things rushed out of the fog and dragged him away."

The platform was deathly silent.

Chen Ye's fingers tightened slightly.

The monster has appeared.

Then, the crying erupted.

It wasn't just one person crying; it was the simultaneous crying of several people.

"I don't want to die... I really don't want to die..."

"I want to go home... let me go home..."

"This isn't a game, people really die here..."

A girl was running desperately into the train carriage.

Zhao Ruoxi wanted to stop it, but it was too late.

The girl ran into the carriage, and then the carriage door suddenly closed.

Immediately afterwards, the girl's head exploded into a bloody mist.

The students gathered on the platform could see this scene clearly through the windows.

Several students who wanted to run into the carriage stopped themselves.
