Official excuse: I've put you on patrol in Handong, and the whole province is in a panic.

Upon hearing this...

Zhou Bingguo immediately became obedient.

How many guts do I have to tell the director I'm unwilling?

He immediately replied, "Director, I will resolutely obey the organization's arrangements! May I ask what the specific tasks and requirements of the working group are?"

Zhang Mingyuan gave a soft snort.

"Bingguo, this working group is no small matter. It was established under the personal attention of Elder Sun and directly led by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, with the aim of thoroughly investigating the deep-seated corruption problems in Handong Province. The group leader is Comrade Su Zhe from the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection."

He specifically emphasized that "Old Sun personally paid attention" and "the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection took the lead directly," while carefully observing Zhou Bingguo's reaction.

Zhou Bingguo's pupils contracted slightly. He knew all too well the weight of those six words: "Old Master Sun is personally paying attention."

This means that this task is of absolute utmost importance at present, and it can only succeed; failure is not an option.

Zhang Mingyuan continued, "Once you arrive, there are several principles you must remember: First, and most importantly, you must resolutely obey the leadership of Team Leader Su Zhe. The working group operates on a team leader responsibility system, with Comrade Su Zhe as the overall person in charge. Your duty is to assist him, cooperate with him, and implement his decisions and plans. Always consult and report to him frequently; never act on your own initiative, and certainly never outwardly comply while inwardly resisting!"

Got it. Su Zhe has a powerful background and a lot of influence. I can't afford to mess with him!

Zhou Bingguo reacted instantly.

Even the director didn't want to provoke him, so he had to put aside his own feelings and respect Su Zhe!

Liu Ziming was inexplicably sent back...

In retrospect, it seems they probably offended someone they shouldn't have.

Zhou Bingguo nodded solemnly: "Understood, Director. I will definitely understand my place and be a good assistant."

"Good!" Zhang Mingyuan was slightly relieved to see that he grasped the concept quickly. "Second, you must make full use of your professional expertise. The working group is involved in a large number of economic investigations, especially in state-owned enterprises and investment. You need to use your professional knowledge and experience to provide the working group with accurate and professional judgments and support. Third, pay attention to working methods. You must adhere to principles and dare to fight, but you must also be strategic and unite your comrades. The working group members come from various departments, so you must maintain unity and form a cohesive force."

At this point, Zhang Mingyuan paused, lowered his voice, and spoke with even greater sincerity: "Bingguo, let me tell you the truth. Sending you there is a sign of the organization's trust in you, and it's also an important test and training opportunity. Comrade Su Zhe is young and promising, and deeply trusted by his superiors. You must fully cooperate with his work this time; this is crucial for your future development. If you complete this mission excellently, the committee will definitely give you priority consideration for advancement."

This was already a fairly clear commitment. Zhou Bingguo understood. Director Zhang's seriousness, even promising his future, further confirmed the special importance of this working group and its leader, Su Zhe.

The "progress issue" naturally refers to the promotion to the deputy director-general level.

What else is there to say?

As long as the hard work wasn't in vain!

Zhou Bingguo's eyes lit up.

Even their voices have changed.

"Please rest assured, Director! I fully understand the importance and special nature of this mission. I assure you that I will strictly abide by work discipline, absolutely respect and uphold Team Leader Su Zhe's authority, and do my utmost to assist him in completing all tasks. I will never let down the organization and your trust!"

Looking at Zhou Bingguo's appearance.

Zhang Mingyuan finally felt a great sense of relief.

He knew that Zhou Bingguo was a sensible man, capable and reliable, far better than that fool Liu Ziming.

"Good! I'm relieved to hear that!"

Zhang Mingyuan smiled, stood up, and patted Zhou Bingguo on the shoulder.

"Time is of the essence; the working group meeting might not be over yet. Go back immediately to hand over your current tasks, then report directly to the working group. I'll have Xiao Qin send you the relevant documents and contact information. Once you're there, follow orders!"

"Yes, sir! I'll take care of it right away!"

Zhou Bingguo immediately stood up, bowed slightly to Zhang Mingyuan, then turned and walked away with light steps.

Watching Zhou Bingguo's departing figure, Zhang Mingyuan breathed a long sigh of relief.

......

After the meeting, the working group immediately went into high-speed operation.

Su Zhe's decisive and efficient style, demonstrated through the Liu Ziming incident, has been clearly conveyed to every member. No one dared to slack off anymore, and all preparations proceeded swiftly and systematically.

Two days later, everything was ready.

The atmosphere at the VIP entrance of Yanjing International Airport was different from usual.

All members of the Fifth Inspection Team, along with the core members of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection's special anti-corruption task force stationed in Handong, totaling more than twenty people, have assembled. Team leader Xu Ming stands at the front, dressed in a dark suit, his hair neatly combed. Although nearly seventy years old, he is in good spirits, his gaze calmly fixed on the entrance to the passageway.

Su Zhe stood a step behind Xu Ming, also dressed in a well-fitting dark jacket and white shirt, without a tie, looking capable and composed.

His face remained expressionless, only occasionally glancing at his watch or exchanging a few words in hushed tones with Zhou Bingguo, the newly appointed deputy head of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission. Zhou Bingguo was humble in his demeanor.

"Team Leader Zhou, things are probably going to be tough from now on... I'm counting on you for everything."

Zhou Bingguo had a big smile on his face.

"Team Leader Su! Please don't say that! I came here with the attitude and purpose of learning! I've heard so much about you, and this opportunity to work and learn with you is a rare chance for me to grow!"

Team leader, whatever your requests are this time, just tell me! I will do my best to fulfill them. If I don't do well, please feel free to criticize me; I will resolutely obey!

Su Zhe: ......

can.

It seems that my decision to send Liu Ziming back was the right one.

That's what makes a qualified subordinate!

soon.

A Coaster minibus smoothly pulled up and stopped. Staff members quickly came forward to help with the luggage.

Xu Ming glanced around at everyone and said in a low but clear voice, "Comrades, is everyone here? Get on the bus."

Everyone boarded the minibus in order.

Xu Ming and Su Zhe sat in the front row, while the other members took their seats in order of their positions and seniority.

The car was quiet; no one spoke casually, and the air was filled with a solemn atmosphere, as if a battle was imminent.

After the plane took off, Xu Ming put on his reading glasses and once again reviewed the information he had on Handong Province.

Su Zhe closed his eyes to rest, but his mind was racing, reviewing once again the various clues he already knew by heart, the potential obstacles, and the areas that needed his attention. He knew that the real test had begun the moment he set foot on the land of Handong.
